We haven’t yet decided if we’ll lock releases behind tiers or if all tiers will have access to the same content. We’re still figuring out what to do with the tiers, but for now, any initial support is more than welcome. Those who appreciate the game more and can afford it will likely support with higher tiers.
As it shows on practice, once some content will get locked by paywall, people start to negatively consider devs. You probably can compare yourself to some of those devs. In a single day already 200$+/month from patreon with basically 0 benefits from that. It's just support, while many games with paywalled content don't even reach this amount in years of game production.
For me it's all about the game. If it will be great. I will support, but if dev starts to show bad attitude, then we're sitting here on a piracy-related website)
For me the example is skyrim. It takes 10sec to find newest(or wanted) version, but I still have bought all the versions in steam just because I liked the game.
P.S. do I even need to mention the situation with Subverse? how people supported nsfw game for >2mil $ just because they liked it and were tired from big companies promoting tolerance and ugly stuff?
P.S.S. personally will just add that I'm also willing to support you in the development of this game, but knowing that majority of devs dropping their projects once start receiving some money (f.e. Succulence 2), I will wait for few updates to see how the progress will go
