Hey, i know this must've been real hard on you. I was really into this game as well and went AFK on it for a year or two just to see there were pretty much zero progress. Reminds me of a game called Teraurge, played it back in 2019.... got cuck real hard (Myself and others waited literal years, some still pays the dev in hope of him updating the game).
The only way for niche games like these are for people that 'REALLY' likes it to make a new one, or continue it.
There is HOPE, i've been using ComfyUI a while now and the progress when it comes to AI generated images and AI coding will make creating games like these much more easier. Maybe you could try it ? cuz im thinking of actually going into this since i just graduated and literally have nothing to do atm.

When i scroll through abandoned threads, it's kind of sad to see the disappointed fans of these games.
It always makes me want to finish such works for them (especially when AI CG was used; copying certain styles isn't an issue. Copying a handdrawn style... that's hard).
But you can't read the mind of the original creator, so you can't write the story in the same style, and it would end in chaos.
at this point I’ll take any continuation of this game. even if it’s a “fan” continuation.

And what exactly is it, that makes you wanna continue playing? Is it the setting, the art, the characters or the whole package?
personally when i played the game there was something about the story that just sucked you into the world, it kinda made you feel what you were reading if that makes any sense, i really hope whoever started the game continues writing because they're really good at it.
