Unity - Completed - Man of the House [v1.0.2c Extra] [Faerin]

Immersive - deep emotional connection to the characters. Polished gameplay (few bugs). I only wish there were more, especially with the multi-character relationships/scenes. (Example: The Veronica story is long (good character arc) and fulfilling, but the Veronica+Amy story is short.)

Story- There are about 9 different characters with their own stories, Overlap is typically between the main 3 and one or more of the side characters. The main 3 are all poorly wallpapered over incest so it’s a little hard to ignore. Despite that the Veronica/Amy storyline is one of my favorite porn game stories.
Art- All the girls look good, but the renders are showing their age at this point. MC looks like a goblin, but I’m not exactly here for him.
Sound- SFX are sometimes annoying but passable
Voice Acting- N/A
Mechanics- stat/time/life management is the standard to which all these types of games should be measured. It’s a Sandbox VN
Animations- low frame count animations of decent quality
Bugs- ran into at least one
Amount of content- 40+ hours
Subjective stuff- Would have been better without incest

Man of the House (MotH) was once considered one of the top adult games out there, but now (late 2022) its sandbox-heavy approach is no longer in fashion. Thankfully, developer Faerin has included an optional cheat mode, wherein the player can avoid much of the grind that might otherwise be required.

It's a landlady/mom, roommate/sister game with many of the porn tropes we've come to expect, but MotH does them well and throws in some fun variations. The lewd content is not stellar, but contains a few erotic gems and, in brief, gets the job done.

While there are arguably higher quality games available, this one is complete and even with cheats will take you ten hours or so to complete, assuming you read the dialogue and otherwise play as intended. Best of all, there are many endings available and an entire replay of the game is not (necessarily) required to unlock them all.

In summary, MotH is an oldie by goodie, definitely worth checking out.

So many girls with unique personalities, locations, challenges, achievements, I could go on and on. A must play for fans of western H-games. The graphics are dated by todays standards however they are good enough that they stand the test of time to play even now.

A nice feel good game. It's stars really slow and lots of grinding but it pays off well. Some moment and missions were actually fun. Some moments and missons were really dumb but then again, like I said, this is a feel good game where there is no real challenge to get any of the girls. It's def. worth to play. Animations and all are pretty good. And that MILF.... oh baby.

Man of the House is my favourite porn game. It hits all the right notes with the cast of women and is masterful at slow and steady corruption.

This game will certainly appeal to those players that enjoy managment elements as well. The story is pretty much non existent expect for the fact that the protagonist is actively trying to corrupt the women around him.

The sex scenes are rewarding because they are both erotic and progress naturally from the corruption elements.

The only draw back I have is that there isn't a proper gallery mode. This is a fairly old game now so I can understand the developer not having the foresight to implement a full gallery but the player may trigger the scenes again naturally during the day cycle.

Overall, this game is the most balanced and complete game I've ever played on this website and I highly recommend this title. 5 stars.

You have to follow your needs, earn money and improve your stats. Lots of interactivity. commendable...

Pros

• A nice story emphasizing incest & polyamorous. Incest approach with mom was very good, especially mom’s reluctance to give-up the morality was very well expressed.
• Developer has demonstrated a very high level of professionalism in all aspects including the cheats.
• Excellent quality of image renders.
• Excellent quality of animations; more realistic, especially MC with mom doing nude Yoga challenge
• Playability, performance and grammar are all just OK no issue.
• Quite a good amount of contents.

Cons

• Lack of genuine or more of fictitious for sexuality.
• Lack of seductiveness (from Asian perspectives) in sexual approach
• Error: one or two minor errors in dialogues, example shown as MC but the other characters dialogue

Overall pretty good, Thanks to the developer.

First of all I want to clarify that the first time I played it was the very first adult game I was doing so I may be rating it maybe higher than what it actually is

story: 5/5 I'm not a fan of incest stories, however, it didn't bother me and the story took me on board, many things happen there. I didn't get bored and it's very well written.

characters: 5/5 The characters are all sufficiently different and believable, everyone will have their preferences, but overall they are all very beautiful

sex scene: 5/5 The scenes are very satisfying, good diversity of situation and kink, good length and very erotic

renders: 4/5 It's aged a bit, but it's still very beautiful.

animation: 5/5 They are very beautiful, very fluid, even in 2022 the majority of games are not doing better

sound: Maybe a little music is missing

gameplay: 5/5 Lots of things to do, and good customization is offered to adjust what you want to do or not do.

It's a typical "guy seduces his sexually frustrated mom, bitch older sister, and naive younger sister" story, with some other girls in the mix too. If you're not into that, why the fuck are you here?

With that said, it's got good writing, models, and H content. The reason I give this 4 stars instead of 5 is because of the grind and the mediocre achievement system.

• Grind: Thankfully the dev does allow you to skip time, has a decent built in guide for core events, and has allowed some cheats, however even with all that there is still quite a bit of repetitive actions you must complete. You can use cheat engine to resolve this, but it takes a bit to identify all the variables and this fucks with the story too, so I recommend against it.
• Achievement System: It's cool that its there, but I don't just want it to be there, I want it to tell me exactly what needs to be done to complete everything. Well, actually, I just want all the sex scenes available to me, and have to go through the achievement system to get them... Based on reading the guide, it sounds like there is a harem type ending, but I can't be bothered to get it.

That's a lot of text on some negatives, but they are only parts of my experience. Everything else was good or better, so I think 4 stars is accurate. I wish you could impregnate all sexable female characters instead of just your little sister, but at least there was some preg content. It was good, recommended, but definitely could be better.

Great example how sandbox games should be made - good models, good scenes, good animations, nice story, some micromanagement stuff, many endings.

What I miss here is more spanking/bdsm scenes and more sex ecounters with side characters but I guess you can't have everything.

Man of the House is a shining example of what a sandbox eroge should be. It's complete and is content dense. The content itself is high quality: model, sex scenes, character interactions, all very good. If I have one complaint, it would be that similar to pretty much every other sandbox games I have played, the event system in this game can be finnicky and cumbersome.

A rarity here on F95ZONE: a completed game ... and a very good one.
The game provided me with several days of great game play. I'm not a hardcore gamer, far from that, and I lose interest very quickly with difficult mechanics, puzzles, etc.
Here, the story progresses in a straightforward way and, although it is basically a sandbox game after completion, with repeatable events, it is playable like an interactive VN.
The story is not truly original, with all the usual elements and tropes of similar setups, but is not less enjoyable because of that. Well worth my time and, I hope, yours. Highly recommendable.

Art -> Majority quite good, though the medium still causes some "odd" faces.
Writing -> Above average, frequently tongue in cheek.
Gameplay -> Deeper than one would think, fairly engaging in planning.
Content -> Nice range of fetishes.

Amazing story with themes that are often avoided (due to Patreon) which makes it quite a rarity! The renders are pretty good even if faces can sometimes look wonky, but the situations are great.

My only annoyance is how grindy the gameplay is, having repeatable scenes grant 2-3 instead of 1 relationship point would make it feel much better. It works for those who enjoy prolonged gameplay with repetition but it isn't my cup of tea.

Can't wait to see what the creator is working on next!
