Clearly it's something that Dr Sin and his team thought about beforehand. The presence of it has to activate parts of the code that's hidden away.

Its not a patch. Its a key. The file's presence is what required. You could just create the file yourself but its easier to say to just paste it into the folder than explaining this since lots of people already have problems understanding how to put it in you see.
