Simple, he said he needed a break from Midnight Paradise. Don't know what for, might have been writers block or something like that, but during that break he didn't want to stop working so he wouldn't end up like Icstor, so he decided to do some rework for DoD to keep himself in the work loop. The upcoming update for Midnight Paradise is not supposed to be a big one, because he has been working it only for one month now. Last year the update schedule was smaller update once in a month, which didn't do any good for the game in my opinion. Is this some Icstor shit? I guess only time will tell.

Well, remember that the DEV has certain tastes about content. From earlier in this thread:

A 10th release doesn't mean the game goes to 1.0
It will go to 0.10 and 0.11 and so on. It's gonna be hard to finish this with 18 releases altogether, but hopefully a monthly release cycle will help to move through the story quicker.

I get it, you want P in V. But if I give it to you too fast you won't like it. It will feel undeserved, empty and rushed.
Remember, in DoD the MC had the spell to bypass most of the taboo that comes with *cough* roommates/landlady *cough*
In MP, Connor doesn't have supernatural powers, so it always feels wrong to push too far too soon with lewd scenes when it comes to those characters.

On the other hand, I don't really want to make any more 'throwaway' characters who Connor can just fuck and then dump. This game has enough characters already. However I can say that things are going to heat up from now on. In the last 2 updates, the 3 main girls have come to terms with the fact that they are attracted to Connor (among other characters). This is a big step towards eventual sex scenes. And as far as I'm concerned, when it comes to these type of games, the journey is better than the destination.

About the sex:
It's just my taste then. I like the buildup in games more than the actual sex events. Because after that, it's 'mission accomplished' and it's not that interesting anymore. At least that's what I like so that probably translates to how I make Midnight Paradise. DoD was 12 Episodes, Mrs Turner was fucked in EP 9 - that's at 75% completion. MP is nowhere near 75% done so I'm probably right on track here. (and yes, I guess I'm making more than the initially planned 18 updates)

Also, it was easier in DoD, since the MC had his powers and that lead to getting laid with the girls.
But here Connor has nothing like DoD MC's power, so it always feels weird to move fast with a 'household' character.

I agree in hindsight, side characters should have been fucked sooner. I focused a lot on the main girls and that's why I didn't take the time to add sex with side characters.

I'm also thinking about the finished game most of the time and not the periodic releases. I can always add side-objectives with sex later, to an earlier part of the game is it feels like it takes too long to reach a sex scene (which judging by the feedback it does).

So the dev is making what he wants, when he wants, at his pace.
