Bibifoc So it looks like the issue that renpy is insisting on running the game through steam (regardless of whether I have Steam running or not). I am not sure I want to sift through my entire filesystem to find where Steam is trying to hide extra copies of the save data. Pity, I was enjoying the updated game.

I've deleted the resident savefile from /game/save and from ~/.renpy/MidnightParadise, re-downloaded your fixed save, and while the thumbnail in the loadscreen shows the Harding living room, it always loads back in the damned apartment.

I've deleted libsteam from the runtime folder and that hasn't fixed things either. I have no fscking clue why the game decided to barf so thoroughly.
WTF is this Steam thing?! o_O
Anyway seeing the correct thumbnail means it should work.

Another solution:
1/ Put the attached file in your game folder.
2/ Load your save
3/ Open the console with SHIFT+O
4/ Copy/paste this command: $ go_to(L_home_livingroom)
5/ Close the console (Esc)

I'm running into errors when i try to continue a save. No matter which save, I cannot continue it.
Anyone know the issue?

Yes, v0.17 (as OP states old saves DO NOT WORK) was re-done, so old save do not work for anyone, everyone has to start over.

it's remake, no new content but old got changed more or less.

deleting persistent on both saves-folder and \renpy\*game name* should be enuf but easier to rename save.
So they don't worked in storyline and story is incomplete

OK, I don't know which demons possessed my laptop to make things go so fucky, but that finally cleared things up for me. Thanks for all the debug assistance on this.

Now I get to wait for the next update and hope things don't break again then....

You can't just overwrite the old version with the new one, simply because some files from old version aren't used anymore in the new one. These old files aren't automatically deleted and it's these that are causing you problems.

You'll have to delete them. It seems the better solution would be to make a fresh install of MP, then install the latest version of the mod.
I did as you stated and it's working great. Thank you for your patience!
