No, it is because of Renpy, it got people used to that, and they got lazy.
Unity doesn't have that option. And Renpy devs dont' get a choice there either, they basically HAVE to use both.
I think i'll skip this update since there's not much content (According to changelog)

When the game is complete I always buy the full version on Steam. I own the MOTH & Mystwood Manor. Can't afford to pledge every months. I'm happy for the ones who can, he disserves it..

Then stop demanding the game day 1 you know someone will eventually post it.
The game has been released through the official channels, it will get leaked when it gets leaked.
