Well, you don't need to be a rocket scientist to realise that she is neither a good parent nor a cordial and affectionate person.

The thing about Grace (Ian´s Mom) is that we not only have Edwin´s impression that she is not a good parent and a really cold and distant person, we get this information from several independent sources throughout the story. We also can compare with other aloof characters. Hell, even Kath and Sophia are less distant than Grace! It says much when both the most sadist and the most eccentric character in the game are less cold and think higher of the MC than Grace ever did!
Read a bit between the lines. While for Kath and Sophia Edwin might currently be mostly a useful pawn, you can get closer to them and maybe more in later chapters. Grace considers Edwin scum and this is an opinion she had for many years. What a "nice" person Grace is. Edwin is/was the only true friend Ian had throughout school and Viktoria was more a mom for him than Grace ever was.

This isn't a realistic narrative whatsoever so it wouldn't be any more far-fetched than anything else going on in the plot.

Not sure i've seen well written incest so far. Actually i can think of 2 titles that did a great job about about it. One i won't mention because it has been banned from this site. Too bad, it's an mazing story with high attention to the psychological implications of the act, but i can see why they did it. The other is Desert Stalker for its take on a society where incest is socially accepted and broadly practiced.

Most of incest game are like: "oh, no! i can't bang my [insert relative name here]! well. wathever, time for a some hour of cheasy vanilla incest sex".

Yeah, it's pretty rare. Which makes it all the better when someone who can actually write a decent plot tackles it.
Unfortunately most games just use the writing as a vehicle to get to sex scenes rather than try and write a plot that is actually compelling that naturally leads to sex scenes.

And while Pale Carnations may not be a realistic narrative, it does have a status quo and scope, and incest falls outside those bounds. Plus, in my opinion as a guy who takes his porn game story way too seriously (if you don't, no one will), it would run contrary to the foundation of Edwin and Vicky's character.

Plus, I don't like it, and there isn't a more important reason than that.

Not all games with family members needs to have incest most good ones (story wise) don't, its very hard to pull off a unique incest story especialy if its based in modern times with no fantasy or sci_fi genres elements

All that in mind i still hold hope to see Vicky get some action in the present time in the story shes hot and that will be even hotter

Though wherever creative decision the devs make im here for it the game is great already without it

Exacty, like how many people IRL fantasize about it the answer is a alot and how many act on it almost none, its one of the most prominant genres in porn for a reason but the chances of that happening IRL is slim to none excluding abuse

Although ultimately I think the only true reason is your last one since large portions of the narrative is characters doing things they don't want to or that they didn't think they were capable of.
Removing every scene that was "contrary to the foundation of [...] character(s)" would result in no Carnations since they're all betraying themselves in some regard.

I'm talking about how Edwin and Victoria's relationship informs other components of the story, where I want that to lead, and how it was pretty much the first thing I conceptualized writing even before the sex club aspect got folded into the scenario. What I'm trying to say is that, at it's core, this is not an incest story. And sure, it's all made up and the story can twist any direction one pleases, but it'd be working against the logic that has been built up and followed in my head.

For me personally, Victoria is a real mother for Edwin and support for Ian, and I don’t see any sense in any dirty plots and incest for her. I like how she behaves openly around Edwin and Ian, as if they were her sons and is ready to support them no matter what their problem is, she even jokes better with Ian when they both tease Edwin. so for me she is like a mother and a friend, the best character in the game!

If I remember well, homicide is illegal, nonetheless you see murders in quite a lot of fiction.

I think you guys should realise that every erotic work from the past was forbidden and printers and booksellers illegally printed, copied and sold it.

You might want to remember that Flaubert and Baudelaire were charged for immorality and went on trial, for instance, and that evey protestant denomination and the Catholic Church banned all of the erotic literature in the 16th century, who was prohibited until the 20th century.

You know, Felicia is something else.

This character is unlike most similar slutty female characters around because she can be classy as well, on top of being very smart and wise for her age. It's like in every conversation with her she is 1 step ahead of you most of the time. Her scenes are not just porn, they are written to convey something more for us to ponder about ourselves. I believe this character will be bigger then we think, possibly a secret puppet master of sorts that might pull the rug under everyone's noses in the endgame.

Do I think she is a waifu material, hell no! It's very clear that romance, chastity and love isn't what she is about. But she is special, has her succubi-esque charms and wits, and I just feel she also hides a heart of gold underneath. So yeah, just wanted to drop an appreciation post for Felicia, for her pretty unique design and captivating presence in the story.
