Guys, EVERYTIME you post this kind of messages, you NEED to tell us whether you dowloaded the older "infected" leak or the new safe leak they posted in the OP yesterday.

IF YOU DON'T do it, then you will only cause panic, and this is NO good.
The new safe link im pretty sure, i commented this 6 hours ago and thats when i downloaded it today, but on mac when opening it the game didnt start just a grey screen

So i did the Mac fix with the terminal and the game opened but it opened to a grey screen just saying NW.JS with the little compass icon on the bottom left and some text on the bottom right, is this game cooked or what

Avira Antivirus detected when I open th' game.
Quarantine and delete it.
Full scan and no virus.
But is it enough? with just Avira?
What did I write a couple of posts ABOVE yours?

I WROTE: you NEED to write whether it's the old infected leak or the new leak posted yesterday in the OP.

Good Lord help me and keep my sanity :censored::censored::censored::censored:

My experience with this unfortunate situation.
After reading about the virus I delete the game folders in C and D. Windows Defender doesn't find anything, Malwarebytes finds and removes malware, I don't know if it's related to this download.
After that I use search for electron (nothing) and for husbandy, I find a 200 MB executable in C: (which Malwarebytes and Defender didn't detect) and I delete it.
I also find a crash log for husbandy, so maybe it tried to run and crashed, it would coincide with a crash I had using the game.
I have changed the important passwords, the malware seems to have been removed, I haven't noticed anything strange these days, fingers crossed.

I recommend using search to find husbandy.exe, since in my case at least it still persisted after using antivirus.

Checked APp data as Windows defender said. Deleted it, searched the terms you mentioned, nothing yet. Got any more tips? Also used malware app anti virus

I think most of the posts here are highlighting how inadequate Windows Defender is for real-time protection. Get a good antivirus (Bitdefender, ESET, or Kaspersky if you can get it) just to be safe.

Windows Defender functions just fine and worked perfectly well against this trojan, when it tried to execute. The problems people are facing are due to other reasons, not Defender being faulty.

So I'm fairly certain I downloaded the infected version and played it for a bit on previous days.
Then last night I booted it up and BitDefender instantly quarantined the game.exe in the main folder, and electron.exe in App Data. I then went and found the husbandship.exe in AppData/Roaming/PAT and deleted that too.
Have now run a full system scan overnight and BitDefender hasnt found anything.
Is it possible that I've luckily escaped or is the presence of the husbandship.exe a sign that it got through already?
And if it has, how can I tell/what should I do to remove it. (I've already changed several passwords just in case)

No, you didn't escape it. If your AV detected it then it already did its intended purpose, whatever that is. I would change ALL of my passwords if it was me that was burnt. If the malware scanned your browser and you were logged into your email then it most definitely has all the passwords that were saved on that email, I would go ahead and change them now.

Anyway so I did a full system scan and no malware was detected and I searched for the husband.exe or husbandy files and they just don't exist on my device so im wondering is there any way to know for sure if it's gone or if I ever even had it?

Oh I also changed passwords and everything i could just incase
Hold on I downloaded the game on the 25th? It says that if you downloaded it anyway between the 26th and 27th to delete it maybe im safe? Copeium

If your passwords are in a password manager, like LogmeOnce, still change every password there? Of course, change the passwords first from their respective apps and then replace them in the manager.
I did change on Gmail and Yahoo, don't know what it means that every password on an email must be also changed since it is one password.

Me personally would just delete all passwords on my password manager, stops a bad actor from getting all your passwords if you get a virus like this. This seems a bit barbaric but I keep everything in a notebook on top of my desk.

You mean, there is a constant alive actor inside the PC and can see the passwords even if l change them? What if l change every password again?

The download from the 25th was infected, but the malware was set to download the virus if you ran the game on the 26th or later, from my understanding. Delete the game and the appdata/roaming folder if you ran the game.
