Hey Patrons,
I hope all is well in your part of the world. There is not too much going on here. I've had some crazy storms here in Michigan, but I am lucky compared to the destruction caused by the ice storms in northern Michigan and the tornadoes in the rest of the midwestern US. I hope you and your families are all okay.
I've been working like crazy on the update lately. There's been a little bit of a slowdown on the progress, not because of a lack of work on my part, but because I've been working on back-to-back sex scenes with lots and lots of animations. The animations take much longer than static images, of course, so it's been taking me a while to get through these scenes. But, oh boy, these scenes are really hot! Long, quality scenes with lots of action. One of them is a threesome, so it's a lot of work, but it will be worth the wait. I'll let you guess which characters are involved. I have two or three more regular scenes that I should be able to get through rather quickly, as well as a smaller lewd scene left to get through.
So a big update, the biggest yet, with lots of action. I'm finishing up the threesome scene right now, and then it's on to the final stretch to home base. I currently have 1773 images and 141 animation (Yes, I've done a shit ton of animations since the last dev update. I told you I've been working hard.)

I'm new to all this game making stuff? I keep hearing that Devs has trouble making games and the updates. I was curious, do you know if AI would make their jobs easier and cheaper? Or even Google Copilot? Like I said, I'm new and don't understand any of that. I just like to play the games.

AI is a tool, and like any tool it can be misused or poorly used. It's good for organizing workflows and streamlining certain aspects of development, but there is no magic "Make this good" button. The best games on this site are the results of experienced, intelligent, creative degenerates artists using their human experience to create...well okay, it's porn. But it's good porn!
Yes, AI could probably help in certain situations. But knowing those situations and learning to utilize the tool properly without sacrificing quality takes time and experience too.

problem with implementing AI at the moment, is its simply not good enough to help out in any meaningful way.
Image Generation isn't consistent and has bugs, it'd be very jarring to have two renders of a character looking different because the AI is unable to reproduce what a 3d model can. Text generation is eh, it could work theoretically but text generation isn't there yet.
As i understand it, the workflow in AVN creation is effectively write the script, Pose and render in a 3d engine (most use Daz or HoneySelect), any post processing tweaks , then you plug that all into a python fork called renpy

Thanks for an explanation. I think I kind of understand. AI is good as a helper but not as a permanent thing.

At the moment AI is like a wizard's student. He won't help too much, but if you let him out of the eye for a moment, he can spoil everything.

You probably exaggerate a little. I don't know what these limits you have, but 8.5 G is about 20 minutes of downloading.

Usually there is update only patches made by the compressors of the site when the games are larger than 3-4GB, depends on the game aka popularity and those have more requests for update only patches hehe.
So in Ripples you just have to search "update only v0.7.0". Actually I did that search and it is in the same post than the compressed version so you can also search "compressed v0.7.0" and you get the same post. I won't link it to you because people should really start to learn how to use the search function.
Well not everyone have high speed internet, for me 8.5GB depends on the days or hour of the day, if there is much traffic (days or near the hour of football games with one of the 3 main teams here in Portugal for example) for sure I won't DL 8.5GB in 20 minutes. During the "sleep" hours for sure is near that but I still doubt it, and I only have 3G internet speed where I live, no cable here, for me what matters the most is stability of the internet and on that I can't complain.
But yeah still 2-3 days is exaggerated, maybe they have download limits with their provider, no idea. Rarely there is download limits here in Portugal on "land line" internet packages, for what I know only limits here is for phones.

I read a few other parts of Ripples and I my opinion has changed a bit. I still dislike the dynamic of the girls assuming the male role of initiating sex while the MC goes passively along for the ride like girls do - but I understand why its done and its in 98% of games like that and here its not even that aggrevating as far as I have seen now. I might have caught the worst scenes when I checked the game out first.
The animations are very good and its a breath of fresh air that MC's buddy is getting some instead of getting constantly humiliated for jokes. Enjoyed myself reading yesterday. May it continue like that.
And a peacefull dull relationship with a well meaning patronizing man has many advantages. Exciting gets tiring fast.
In the long run. Even in VNs it can be good like Cosy Cafe shows.

That is clearly one of those paradoxes that always exist in time travel stories, she is only saved because the events were "determined" for the MC to go back in time and save her. Don't overthink time travel plots hahaha, not good for our own mental health and you won't enjoy those stories like we should.
Edit : And this again deserves the usual TBBT video about time travel I put for laughs (for the 3rd time on the thread).
