This story is forever tainted by what Personas did. The possibility that these characters are based on real victims is always gonna lurk in players' minds. If somebody feels that the "manchild grooms students and also his obsessive family member and also deals with surreal horror elements" niche isn't adequately catered to, they're better off starting from scratch. And also not committing crimes in real life.
Interesting game, manga combined with the plot from Ursula Le Guin's The Lathe of Heaven and multiple versions of the self like David Gerrold's The Man Who Folded Himself. Pity it won't get finished.

"Lost in You" and "Dissonance" are also 2 good Lessons in Love inspired games.
I would add the game "Another World" by Maelstrom to this list as well. Has the similar setting and themes just not as full on as LiL.
I really wanted to play this game, started it and was like I would come back later, this was a month or so before all the news broke out, if the game ever came back would I play, Yes I would but I would struggle to support in terms of Patreon/SubStar or paying for it.

It's been a year almost to the day, actually. The last update/the day that Personas disappeared was August 20th.
You could just unpack the update from the first page there. Obviously the latest images won't be compressed, but it'd be good enough.

Play Dissonance for now, it is clearly inspired by SO than LiL, so it kinda feels like playing lite version of SO anyway. Maybe author will eventually have an access to laptop in prison(even I had access to such shit, it was a phone tho, but then again it was not UK prison either) so he can finish his work. Would be morbidly curious to see how he finishes his work with everything out in the open

The only way I feel anybody would ever pick this up again is if a new dev basically took everything and started doing it themselves, and made it perfectly clear that the original dev has NO involvement with it.

As much as I want this to ever be continued, I'd fear for any kind of justice system that allows someone convicted for internet-related offenses to have internet access again.
He's imprisoned in the UK, and he's only in for grooming and molesting kids instead of a "serious" crime like writing a mean tweet.
He's not going to be in there for as long as he should be sadly.
I'm gonna be real with you, hopefully he never touches the internet again after what he did.
