This is actually a plot point that needs to be explained eventually. As far as I understood you are right, the Uni our main characters are attending is a regular one. Why would the children of powerful, influential and rich families such as Ayua, Bella and Zara be attending a regular college when they could be attending an elite one? And why does the major ZPR sponsorship happen in that particular college and in the same year the main cast is starting their college life?
Can you imagine that someone could force Bella to attend college with snobs and teachers with a stick up her ass? I can not.
ZPR is an ordinary college, and Bella, Sasha, Ayua, Zara and other children of wealthy parents attend this college (and not a college for snobs) for their own individual reasons.
Well, this is my personal vision

started speed reading from page 1000 found this on page 1018

in the "old me/new me" part, is he Oceanlab ?

btw, I just realized that the appearance of Sasha and her bodyguard in ch 5 was taken from here

Only Sasha's dress model is slightly different
Yes, this is Inessa Petrova, and those who played with the old WIAB could see her in all her glory in her youth.

Precisely, as we know, these clans are connected with crime. Illegal money must be laundered somehow. All these charitable foundations are a paradise for money laundering. I just now realized how profitable it would be for Nika to get into the first team.

It doesn't matter what kind of dark business he will do in the future, he will already have a way of laundering.

Hell, even trolls can be useful. Nika mentioned to Nami about moving to this house. However, the time frame is unknown, when exactly they moved. I definitely forgot the flashbacks with Summer, but is this the same house or a different one?
The MC's room interior in the Summer flashbacks is different to his room in the present day, but both seem to be within walking distance of the lake.

The MC's room in the flashbacks has a window on the exterior wall. The wall to the left of the window has a door and a bed. The wall to the right of the window has a desk, shelves and dresser. The wall opposite the window seems to have a TV close by. A couch sits in the middle of the room.

I don't know the reason for these differences (i.e. different house, different room in same house, Dev omission)

I am still not sure why this is an issue, but there are a lot of reasons a physician may not have a lot of disposable income. True, most U.S.-based physicians make a more than adequate income. But it is clear that the author is from Germany, the setting may be intended to be the U.S. or some non-descript neutral place, but the influence of Germany is strong (they call it 'football'). The living conditions in other places are not always easy to determine, especially broken down by occupation.

Physicians have enormous student loans. Many of them have to work for a good amount of time before they pay them off and are able to purchase their own practice. This family has two college-aged kids which is a major expense. And Nojiko raised them on her own, assumedly while going to a university to obtain her medical degree.

Again, I don't see why this matters. The point being made in the story is that the MC and Nami are not at the socioeconomic status of many of their fellow students and love interests. That is all that is necessary in order to enjoy the story as told.
Exactly. We may raise an eyebrow at the situation, but, in the end, it's just a plot device and nowhere near as far-fetched or game-breaking as some make out.

Not everything in this game is U.S.-centric. Without implicit mentions in the game - Nojiko could work at a State-run hospital or a private hospital under a socialized health system or a privatized health system. Her salary as a doctor ('none of this unsubstantiated 'specialist' bullshit) is unknown. She may or may not have taken on student debts (bearing in mind we know little about her family or parents or past life). The MC and Nami's tuition may be expensive or it may be State-subsidized/free. Nojiko may own her home outright, or have a mortgage, or rent. Nojiko's reasons for living somewhat modestly, compared to her social circle revealed in Ch 5, are unexplained.

ONLY

Heck maybe the house was humble and without clutter because the game had less polish. One reason why rooms can be empty is the work needed to personalize every one.

So, didn't play this awesomness for a year and a half. I was about to play that update, but just read that Chapter 5 Full will also feature the rework of Chapter 2's renders, and that saves from the beta won't be portable. Should I wait for full version? Do we know about a timeline for it?

By accident or design, the rooms the MC inhabited are different in their architecture.

I just noticed again a line Nami speaks at the bookclub... The MC asks Nami how long Noji had been going to the bookclub and Nami replies, "Forever. I remember her going to this club since we moved here." So, they weren't always in the house they live in now. Who knows when or from where they moved?

The consensus seems to be it's best to wait. December or January was the last deadline for release I heard for Chapter 5 Full.

Or the courses offered are different. Not every college has a great art department, or music program. Not everyone wants to study the economics of doctors in Wollust for example :sneaky: Some people prefer a great philosophy department and aspire to teach postgrad. Every college has it's different angle.

Exactly. We may raise an eyebrow at the situation, but, in the end, it's just a plot device and nowhere near as far-fetched or game-breaking as some make out.

Exactly, and she might have gambling debts, she might have paid immense sums to become custodian for Nika and Nami, she might be paying her own parent's health bills. As I think you implied earlier, there are so many reasons people aren't always at the peak of their profession. Not everyone has a drive to earn the top dollar, some people do a lot of charity work, some work places suck.

But yes, a bit part of the assumptions people make is that doctor means what it means in their part of the world. What we know is that Noji stopped Nick having amputation - amputation after an accident happens in an emergency ward, which means a general hospital, not a specialist centre. People don't chose where the ambulance takes them from a car crash. Once they're out of danger, people might upgrade to a more exclusive hospital, but given how Nika, Nami AND Noji all say to how stressed Noji is from work, she'd not top dog. She didn't believe in herself to risk opening a private practice, that is stated.

The characterisation is pretty on point for where I live, for a mid level doctor somewhere that real estate is inflated by all the millionaires around. I'm far more interested in how Noji knows Katie, because that's juicy, real estate is very dry.

End of the year, start of the new year-ish Ocean's last post release log (not called a dev log this time so harder to find by search) talked about the road map. Next release is WiaB in maybe 2-3 weeks.

There are not much information where did they live before. The only thing Nami said:
"We went to a high school way in the west."

And we know that MC has (had?) an uncle who taught him to play basketball. Who is his uncle? Does this mean that MC knew his birth parents? Where is his uncle now? How are Noji and uncle related? There are no answer :HideThePain:

Sounds like she's some sort of first line emergency ward doctor. She handles the cases directly off the ambulances. That'd definitely be a gruelling, stressful job and would also easily explain how she came in contact with Nick.

Beat me to it.

European cultures, well everyone with a beard can be an uncle :sneaky:

When you take Mila or Vic for a walk in 4.5 after the movie night, Nika mentions he remembers or dreams he remembers his mum (not Noji) reading to him. I remember things from when I was 3, even earlier. But my brain might also have filled the gaps. I remember a vivid nightmare from when I was 4, and when I was in diapers, I escaped and walked across a main road - that's what I was told I did, I remember the the bright lights and loud noises.

So yeah, one birth parent is known, the 'uncle' could easily be someone that Noji just couldn't explain any other way.

Well, yeah. I mean, if it was his blood-related uncle, then he could tell him about his parents, who they were, show him some photographs. The memories the MC told Mila or Vic seem very vague, just like in your own example. He was no more than three years old when he may have seen his mother, so it is unlikely that he remembers any details.

Do you mean that a teenager can call his parents' neighbor friends aunt and uncle even though they are not blood relatives?
Or is he an uncle in the same sense as Uncle Ruckus? :)

Well, I think that the address "uncle", from the younger to the elder, who is a close friend of the parents, is also common in Eastern Europe. But for some reason it seems to me that the game meant the MC’s own uncle, at least I don’t remember anyone else calling an uncle someone non-relative.

Yeah, I was going the eastern europe angle semi-humorously - but it also happens in lots of close knit communities. I've been introduced to friends kids as an uncle mostly because they're too lazy to say friend I guess? ...mostly it's because they want the kid to listen to/respect their friends advice, it's just a way to elevate them into an authority figure.
