There's a lot of whining and arguing about why just 190, it'll never be finished, blablabla. It's really irritating that some people can't appreciate literally anything.

I've read several times that it's argued that "you gotta give the content the community wants". Hm, how about no? Why do these people think that the community is necessarily right when they demand something? Of course, this doesn't rule out the possibility that the community may come up with a good idea that adds to the story, but that still makes Summer's Gone Ocean's story, and whether you like it or not, he's shaping it the way he wants.

BTW - I can't remember the last time I joked about the 30-32 chapter thing, but I think it was years ago . I am more interested if Ocean still plans for that many chapters and if the large updates now contain multiple chapters based on that original estimate. The last update I recall Ocean making on the subject is years old.

as far as i think i know you can't give everyone what they want/look for because if you give a inch they will take a mile they will never be happy no matter how much a dev caves in to the pressure. all a dev can do is their very best and hope people will like it and support their work.

ok challege accepted, ok so all the female characters/love interest are from face value i don't see a single ugly girl and as far as the females bodies go there is something for everyone like big booty to small booty and big boobs to small boobs so thats a plus. the plot holes i see is summer herself is she dead or is she alive, is she married/ in a realtionship or is she single has summer feel out of love with nika these past years apart , so many questions about her i hope to get a answer sooner rather than later. so far as nika and nami's parents i think them losing them so young has a effect on them both but in different ways, nami sees nika as a father figure of sorts and looks to him for appoval and is in love with him because she likes the bad boys and nika is one. nika is in search of love that he didnt have with this biologcal mother and losing summer brought back the loss of his mother so he is scared to trust another female like he trusted summer for the fear of loss again and the whole dick can't get hard it's a mental block and also defense mechanism so he don't get hurt from a woman like he got hurt when summer went missing i'm damn sure she was going to be his first. i hope that sums up my thougths about summers gone in a nut shell.

With Nika/Nami's parents, I was wondering if you think their parentage is significant to the story because their parents were somehow important or linked to one of the competing factions in, say, WIAB. For example, is Katie Zane's interest in Nika/Nami because of who their parents are, or something else? Actually, are their parents even really dead or is that a cover story to hide the fact they're the illicit offspring of, say, WIAB characters? Who knows? Maybe the parents are competely irrelevant outside of their deaths making Nika/Nami orphans.

In terms of the lewdable/LI characters, I think the widest variation of bodily characteristics is in the minor characters, so I hope they're lewdable. I like the wide range of personas Ocean has breathed into his characters. I don't know about you, but I find it hard to play new AVNs where the female Daz3D models used are the exactly the same as an AVN I already enjoy. Thus, for example, I've never played any other AVN featuring the P3D Aria assets because that can only ever be Sasha-a-a.

Well, I'm not gonna repeat that one dev's quote, which I've already posted here several times, about who the passengers are in this case and who the driver is who chooses the destination. But I would be absolutely thrilled if these complaining dudes would band together, hire writers, artists and whoever else they need and commission them to make the game they want. And share their experience of managing such a project. Reveal a so-called success story if you can call it that. Then I would say, "yeah.... These guys know what they're talking about."

Okay, I'm being sarcastic, of course he was asking a rhetorical question, complaining about the long development time.

Which, however, does not remove problems with comprehending a simple paragraph. Yes, "only" 190 renders. But that was highlighted that these were complex scenes with a large number of characters, which is why they took so long to process. But are all the scenes in SG with a large number of characters? And weren't ~1850 renders made from October to December, which gives 370 renders in 12 days using the old workstation? Twice as much as this time.

And in total, 461 renders were done in those 12 days, so in that same time, another 271 renders were done for WiAB. And as we saw in the previews, WiAB also had complex scenes with a lot of characters in one picture. So actually only 41% of the hardware hashpower was allocated to SG in those 12 days, although it's usually the other way around.

But the reason of this is known - WiAB will soon to be released on Steam, and Ocean wants to finish the remaining work as soon as possible. He mentioned that he will need about 10 more days to have the hardware focused on WiAB rendering tasks. After that, it will obviously go back to the previous ratio.

But no, this guy I was talking about ignores all that, takes the 190/12 particular case and extrapolates it to the rest of the SG development. Hillarious.

Yeah, who knows how much the WIAB story actually plays into the SG story, other than being in the same Oceanverse and featuring a few of the same characters. Some of us reading the tea leaves to predict this and that connection between the two AVNs might simply be pissing into the wind.

If you haven't played WIAB yet and would only consider doing so to see how it relates to or affects the story in SG, then I would recommend not bothering yet. By the end of the last updates of both games, there were only tedious connections at best, with some WIAB characters appearing in or being mentioned in SG.

As far as I can tell, fans are pinning their hopes on Chapter 1 of Season 2, they hope that the plot will finally begin to develop in it. At least a lot of Patreons write that they are tired of waiting for the game to develop, and if it doesn't, they will start leaving. Perhaps Chapter 1 of Season 2 will be the turning point you talked about.

but can you say the story is really good ? a college student is hung up on his childhood girlfriend that goes missing and in return he has Erectile Dysfunction which i never heard of such a thing as you missing someone you can't get it up. and to make it worse you are physical healthy, young and surrounded by absolutely sexy beautiful women that want to jump your bones. but you don't care about them because you miss summer and she is your one and only and to make matters worse you dont even know if she is alive so your saving yourself for her is kinda stupid. Nika needs to get his head out of his ass and realize all these ladies in college fancys him and take the logical and reasonable action,or at least give your homie Jeff the green light to go after them.

So far? yeah it is. But honestly, way too soon to tell to be honest. There are things to criticize, of course, and so far there is barely any plot moving forward, but overall is quite absorbing. You want to know how it continue, you want to solve the things in the novel, you want to immerse yourself in it.

A couple of things about your comment.

1) missing girlfriend gives you erectile disfunction. People react to trauma differently. It's quite clear he is just no interested in sex at the moment given his depression/state of mind. This is soo standard that I bet you may know someone just like that. You are confusing the erectile disfunction of a person that is all ok and cannot get a boner with someone that, and explicitly stated, can get a boner if he thinks of the girl he loves, problem is the bitch is dead. Depression can really fuck up a person.
2) He is not saving himself for her. First, it is more than hinted the "summer's gone" is not something for "summer is gone but she will be here again in chapter 24". It's "summer's gone, deal with it". Second, Nika explained it himself he would want to feel stuff for other people, he just can't.
3) About letting Jeff get into someone's panties. I am confident that girls you don't choose will end up with your friends. It's the nature of a more realistic novel not for all girls to be there just to talk with the MC. Having said that, so far the only one I approve of is Mom's boyfriend. Unfortunately, for all I wanted to hate the motherfucker fucking mommy, he seems like a great guy. For now. If he does anything not as good as what price charming would do, we need to kill the bastard. All others are in discussion.

If you ask me, there are scenarios in this novel where MC having sex makes sense. No now, but later. After all, as you said he is in the pinnacle of his life and hopefully we will get to a moment in the story where his mind set is ok for it.

But my overall point is that you could simply do what they do in movies: show you the start and show you the after event. No need to show the sex scene for this novel to work. For example, take Pale Carnations. You cannot remove sex scenes from Pale Carnations because they are at the core of the story. But you can remove them altogether from SG and no effect on the novel itself if you are just hinting them.

DISCLAIMER: I know Nojiko is not his biological mom. But mom for me is the person that raises you, not the blood related person that creates you. So Nojiko is MC's mom in my head. Same idea with Nami.

Just because I enjoyed playing SG doesn't mean I have to silently accept Ocean's bugs and delays. If you're the kind of person with a closed mind, that's your problem. chapter 1 of season 2 will be a make or break from a great amount of support he has. and dont you go thinking ppl will ride or die with you, this does not last for that long, a handfull maybe.
i love the story so far, and the characters, i will give him the benefit of the doubt with his new "workstation", and see how this new ep comes out, and if it is awesome, you will see his sales skyrocket, and if not, the support will dwindle by a lot, you cant lead people on for that long and not deliver. i've seen devs fail for less with great projects
