It still wouldn't really matter, SG is supposed to have 30 chapters based on what has been said already in this thread.
Currently half a chapter per update, 2 updates per year, we still have 26.5 chapters to go so at the rate of 1 update per 3 months [2 chapters per year, or double the current speed] we're still looking at at least 13 years before this is done.

But even if you get really optimistic and believe that suddenly the production speed becomes four times faster, we're still 7 years away from the final chapter

Half the people commenting in this thread are going to be dead before this gets finished, me included probably.

No way is that time estimate happening. He's going to either have to get a team and speed up production by a ton or he'll take so long to produce, the graphics will start to become outdated and he'll end up in remake hell.

I just replayed the scene you are talking about twice, and I agree with you 100%. The music leading up to the video portion was a fantastic mood setter, It had and ambience and ethereal quality, that really complimented the scene's intended mood. And then the video starts, and it is a rather jarring and disjointed transition in atmosphere and mood. It would have been much better if the original song continued through the video and then faded into the 3rd track mentioned, as that one fades in with overlap. That would have been a smooth transition without disrupting the mood.

Damn if this game is 20 chapter then it would be a disaster at this pacing. I mean i love the game, i do love a well told out story, but a realistic goal would be more appropriate. Some treats their work as a masterpiece, and i can respect that, but damn unlike art, game no matter how much you wanted does not last forever. They will have to be ported to latest tech, rework cause the technology are outdated so on so forth. Especially in a time where tech is rising so much, i highly doubted Ren'py will be a great platform in 20+ year. I love summer's gone don't get me wrong, i actually think Bella is the most interesting girl in this site. The MC and Bella relationship is something I would want to see the end of the journey. Still, at 20+ chap ? I guess in terms of content its possible(I still don't know what is the end goal of the project is, probably the MC at the end of college like DIK ? ). But with this pacing, realistically speaking its just not possible. I hope things will work out in the end

I don't think pacing is the right word here, you might be thinking of consistency in updates.


The pacing is actually good if ocean plans on doing the 20 chapters thing, he's taking time setting the stage for the characters to grow and develop but the time of arrivial of updates is inconsistent and makes the pacing of the story match the time it took to update in real time - slow as fuck.

Now whether ocean's reasons for that are justifiable or not, that's up to y'all but we can all agree that we want consistency in the updates but I feel like that's never going to happen considering he's working on two AVNs at the same time.

I don't think I can demand all this as someone who's not a paying supporter also I don't think this is a full time job for him - I need someone to confirm this or dispute it (?), majority of developers here are just dudes like us with spare time, making AVNs as a hobby.

I just replayed the whole scene to check (and see that kiss again) ; I agree it feels out of place but I dunno how to explain it....
It feels somewhat right if you think of it as an "island of well being".

The scene before, Bella and MC realise that their "mission" was useless ; they just hurt a woman, for naught. Then the video launch ONLY if you agree with her that you make a good team.
It starts a feeling of well being, they found someone they, quite shockingly, feel good to be with. And even that failed mission was a good thing because they did it together.
That video and the music in it represent that new feeling.

EDIT : Feeling that gets cut short AFTER they kiss and realize what just happened. And all goes haywire because of conflicted feeling and their lack of skills needed to deal with that new situation.

So, ofc it's my way of seeing it and I completely understand if that makes no sense to someone else. But it's once again a fascinating thing to analyze in this awesome game.

The virginity of characters like Nia, Bella and Mila is completely irrelevant for the MC and therefore the story.
It only begins to become relevant if it has a great impact on her character or is a defining trait or if she lies to the MC.
Nami's virginity however is important because of her connection to the MC.
As long as MC isn't officiallly off the market than Nami will most likely stay that way.
And for all we know Mila could've lied to the MC because she thinks that the MC wouldn't believe her if she claimed to be a virgin (due to her household and background)
A redundant Fear btw because the MC wouldn't care.
Mila has trust issues and while she has a quite daring exterior it is also a way for her to find out the intentions of a potential partner.
MCs indifference towards that is a major plus for her as she seems to have bad experiences with advances from some guys.
She definitly wants to be a part of MCs life and could fear that if she says something, that he wouldn't likely believe, than she would loose all the trust that was built between the two of them. (I know farfetched but still possible)
Maybe she was assaulted by one of the guys who insulted her while the MC deffended her (at least the way I played it)
- which doesn't mean btw that she lost her virginity to one of those pricks or worse her father in a drunken state but maybe she felt tainted by the mere act of such an assault and therefore doesn't view herself as "clean" and therefore virgin anymore.

While she was quite forward with the MC she felt quite anxious for the possibility that MC saw one of her shows.
(which could be a good indicator for my theory btw as she seems to be quite forward in public but conservative in private at least concerning such (in comparisson) mundane things like a male she knows seeing her naked (most likely not with her kinks))
Bella too could either be a virgin or not depending on her past which made her insane persona.
We're only going to become 100% sure if the act ever actually happens (which will take a looong time)

Ohh but I agree that the music should be lighter, but the one in the video is the kind of music seems too light, almost lacking emotion. Seems like an awesome song to listen to in the beach, with a campfire, drinking with friends, relaxed, no worries, watching the sunset.

While something lighter than the rest of the scene, precisely because you go and have the most amazing kiss, I still would like it if it was something with more emotion, more "and my heart exploded".

Not sure how to explain it.

I see what you mean. Now that you told me this, I now feel that lack of "explosion" (while still thinking the fact that the music is a lighter one during the video is a good thing ofc).

But yeah, the build up and the after are indeed on point. Just a little piece of the music soaring through the night when the kiss happen, you're right.

Yep, I see it. The closer we are to the kiss, the more instruments there are and the more "intense" the music feels.
This song is a little too much for that scene though, this music makes me feel a tremendous after battle with heavy loss (Draco )
It would be nice to find THE music that'd fit with the video and the kiss
