Im the opposite, im not a hater at all (bmw guy would call me a fanboy) but i couldnt give less of a fuck about wallpapers (or bonus side stories).

Imo thats all just entirely useless timewaste, every non-canon render is wasted time, the only good thing about is that ocean maybe gets new experiences/creativity due to it.

In my opinion, these bonus renders and pin-ups and whatever are nothing but a gimmick created to justify the active subscription model in the 2-11 months of the year where the dev doesn't put out an update. Fuck that! Wouldn't wipe my ass with any render no matter how good it is. My interest lies in the story and characters. Not renders, polls, devlogs (even those containing tax updates) or 10 second animation loops.

I'd rather sub to 10 devs once a year in the month their content is released than keep a 10 month sub to a single dev.

The exception would be if the dev were someone I know irl and really wanted to support. But I don't know any of those. No hate to anyone who wants to show extended support to a dev and enjoy the rewards, I just don't see the value in that.

I enjoy the wallpapers and the few other 'in AVN' renders Ocean is currently sharing with us.

They are, for me, a reminder of how much I enjoy SG and the characters he has created.

I'm happy to support Ocean with a monthly subscription as well.

Ocean is a full-time developer and, setting aside monthly living expenses (which he can't - in RL), he needs to pay for electricity, software and hardware, freelancer support, music and more throughout the year, not just on the months when he releases an AVN update.

IF everyone took the attitude of supporting 98% of the devs they actually support with $ and giving the dev $ only on the month of a release, the market would adjust - and not in a kind way.

Most devs would be pushed to give monthly releases and story/continuity be damned.

So what if renders had to be redone or the story had to be reworked repeatedly (not for a Steam release either) since the 'new' paradigm would favor monthly output versus story quality and cohesiveness.

Work to create monthly content that did not end mid scene and maintained a cohesive story would actually Slow down overall development since any dev focused on a monthly delivery model would have to manage story delivery and scene/animation creation with that in mind.

I support a number of devs who produce content monthly and I rarely play each monthly update - no immersion - and I, for one, actually enjoy getting immersed in the story.

I'm looking forward to the first release of Summers Gone, Season 2.

Am I a big fan of waiting - of course not, but quality takes time, and Ocean has repeatedly delivered IMO.

While I wait - I have a backlog of other AVNs to play/get immersed in courtesy of F95, so I don't lack for things to do, outside of RL OC.

I think devlogs are very important, more if you are a Patreon (my case) because i need to know in what he is spending the money or if he is progressing or just taking money for almost any work. The devlogs i don´t understand too much are the tax devlogs, i´m not interested in how Germany takes his money or things like that but i appreciate his honesty

Absolutely! Devlogs are incredibly important for subs. This is one of the areas where Ocean deserves major praise. I sub to devs on SS that don't post anything for months at a time. That shit shouldn't be encouraged. Even if they almost always reply to PM's and are somewhat active on their Discords.

I'm not active on this thread, so I don't know if someone already asked/answered it, but there is any estimated release date of this game or WiAB?
Not complaining or demanding anything, it's just that I've been meaning to replay them and I feel like one of them must be close to another update, so it would be better to wait of that's the case.

We've only got guesses at the moment - WiaB was going to get a devlog with a render count this week, but... Ocean posted Sasha wallpapers rather than a devlog. At this point I'm hoping WiaB might creep in by the end of the year and SGmaybe 3-5 months after that. That's still being pretty hopeful based on the anticipated sizes.

A proper render count for WiaB would mean Ocean has pretty much mapped out all the scenes and knows exactly all the renders he wants, right now we've only been give broad esitmates of how much has been done.

Well, yeah, gotta keep revising my opinion every week there's no devlog. If SG is done by May, it's still the most productive development cycle Ocean's had, and if WiaB scrapes in by the end of 2024, that's huge, and not just from the size of these two updates.

Not gonna lie, Sasha is one of my favourites, but this render is far sexier to me than the Vieled Whisper set ...probably because it's in character, while the new set feel like a different personality.

But news about Katie solves more emergencies than Sasha renders.

I'm tempering my expectations anyway. Ocean's never gone more than a year between updates of some nature, so he'll be pushing himself to get S2Ch1 done by May. WiaB will be overdue for a release - since the reboot, every leak has been in November, but there were the issues of Ocean losing WiaB's patreon around the last update sometime, and the ch3 Full was released in Jan. It would be nice to have something around during the holidays, but I think this year it's just wishful.

Can't say I'm fond of those fantasy/horror-themed custom renders for VNs without those tags, I prefer a dev log instead.

As for Katie, I hope she'll attend every book club session from now on. Looks like she and Nika have stuff to talk about, though Nojiko won't like it.

Well, Katie will show up at Sasha's in-game photoshoot from the looks of a recent devlog, which makes sense as the college's designer, she'd be required for the visuals of the photoshoot. She promised that Nika would see her around anyway, so it seems to me she'll have far more impact than a cameo. Gotta remember the first time we know Katie is actually in the game rather than being talked about is when we see her car outside the college. She's also the one approving Hill and Stahl's basketball fantasy/plot, and seeing Hill was headhunting Nika for years, from before Summer disappeared...

Or she simply feels insulted that Karen is checking her out to see if she's got a shapely enough figure - I'm not sure I've ever seen a professor/teacher look at a student's breasts without getting fired/sent to jail.
