Like I said...unrelatable. I'd keep a healthy distance from someone like her at all times. And my eyes would roll into my skull everytime I'd be within earshot of someone like her. I just can't take it.
I am curious how is Zara unbearable and Bella not ? Bella is a full out bitch, Zara made a dumb mistake and has apologise for it.

Man I've addressed this so many times. In short, to me, characters like Bella and Vanessa put up a bitchy front but immediately fold when called out. They are transparent that way. They are aware of the façade they put up. And what you see beyond that façade is pleasant to me. Gives a healthy and nice balance to the character.

Then there are characters like Zara and Nia. Damaged goods with so little self awareness. They aren't putting up a façade, they're just unbearable. To listen to. To watch. To be around. I just want out whenever they're on the screen. Zara's "competitiveness" drives me up a wall. Poorly handled mommy issues reeking of insecurity, manifesting themselves in the worst way...arrogance. I don't want to even play that game with her.

Trust me I'd be harder on Vic too if she hadn't had the accident. Too much sweetness and naiveté can become harder to stomach later on.

EDIT: To be clearer: what I despise most about Zara is the fact that all her sense of self worth seems to be tied to "winning". I can't take it. And I don't know how else to put this in a way anyone who likes her can understand my perspective.

I really like Zara but can understand your perspective, shes kind of a sad character with sad/wrong motivations but i still really like her lol, shes so genuine when shes happy.

Im not the biggest fan of vic tho but im not even sure i would call her naive, shes just ... different/crazy lol. I know you dont like nia but vic calling out mila for trashtalking nia being a camgirl surprised me or at least was unexpected, imo she has a good moral compass despite being a weirdo lol

Which balance are we talking about ? Bella is nothing more than a paper of tiger who's just as snobish and condescending than the rich assholes she despises. :unsure:While both Zara and Bella had it rough during her childhood, Zara didn't turn into a bully. On the contrary she took Victoria's defense more than once and even saved her from Melanie Cerill and stood for herself.

Bella on the other hand, just hided behind Ayua's skirt and mommy's money. Then once she started to be more confident became a bully herself, humiliating Nami for no reason, constantly mocking and poor shaming people below her social statut, making fun of Victoria situation because a paraplegic can only do the starfish haha  While Nika realized that their stupid revenge plot put Mila in trouble, he at least show some remorse, Bella was just pleased with herself than an innocent took the shot for them. Nika even called her out for it. She constantly pushes others buttons with no regard for their feelings but of course once Nika gave her a taste of her own medicine, she cried like a little bitch and we're supposed to be deeply sorry for her.

Then during the date, even tho she admitted herself than the woman she has targered didn't deserve it, she attacked her where she knew it would hurt the most, just to have a diversion. But we're supposed to not judge her so harshly because she feels bad about it but still did it anyway ?

She ain't a badass or a tough girl, just a condescending coward with no guts and a hypocrite, lucky enough to have mommy's money

I can totally see your point of view. That's how I saw her too at first. But what began to shift my perspective was the image I had of her (and most of the cast of the game has of her) did not match that of Ayua and Nadia for example. Why would two nice and pleasant girls defend their bitch friend so fiercely? Then it dawned on me. Her nasty behavior is a front she uses to keep most people away. It's easier to hate everyone if they already hate you. She doesn't have to care about anyone else and no one will dare mess with her.

Does any of that excuse her behavior? Fuck no! But at least I know that's not the true Bella.

I'm not gonna die on any hill for Bella though. If you hate her I get it. I just don't share the sentiment.

Yeah but the dev is working at two games at the same time, it's not as complex as BaDIK because it doesn't have as many animations or sex animations or a sandbox mechanic but it's a lot of work regardless.

I prefered if he would have worked at one game at the time instead, it could have been much easier and less time consuming.
If Ocean were organized, it would be possible to focus 6 months on SG and 6 months on WiAB, but while fans tell him to take as much time as he needs, we will have to wait for him to finish a chapter every 2 years.

Not going to lie as time goes by, the less faith I have in the game as a whole. I do think it’s a good game and that the praise it gets is mostly fair, but I just don’t see it ever being finished, much less being updated consistently. But who knows how fair it will go, either way it will definitely be remembered as one of the most popular AVNs for sure.

I can understand your position but I don't share it. So far there is not a Ocean Character that I don't like, I even am a Leia's fan, Zara competitiveness doesn't bothers me nearly as much as Vic sweetness but even her I like because she is sweet but is not that virgin sweet innocent girl. But you make a great point when said that her self worth is based on her winning, that is absolutely true and is the basis of her whole character so if is something that bothers you, you cant like her. Maybe in the future as her journey willl be to see herself as more than the girl who only wins. Curious now as what is Nadia reason to be as competitive as Zara.

I can see both points regarding Bella. She is a bratty rich girl too caught up on her own feelings to give a damn about other people and I don't think that all of it is a front. Rather I think that Bella is rather tribalist in her way of thinking, those who she likes and loves she behave in a manner and the rest of the world can go fuck themselves.

I understand that very well, but I also understand that it's not her fault for being this way. In short, I feel sorry for her, for being mentally abused by her horrible mother and on a lesser scale, by her "psycho" sister. And I like the parts of her personality that aren't damaged so badly. A little competition might also be fun when taken less seriously. I enjoyed the scene where they go shooting hoops by themselves and end up competing with the couple from the other college.
I also hope that living together in the same house as a family with Nami and Nika and especially Nojiko might help for her to mend, repair the damage. Summer's Gone is about healing after all. Why should Nika be the only one who gets to heal over time ;)

Im not the biggest fan of Vanessa as a LI but i dont think she abused Zara at all, more like the other way around that shes one of the very few people who kept Zara (more or less) on the right track.

They banter and provoke each other a lot but they are siblings and i only perceived Zara speaking about vanessa with adoration whenever it was a serious talk with nika. Zara imo kinda looks up to Vanessa.

And it was Vanessa who fucked their shitty mom over (justified), protected her dad and kept Zara on the right track there too.

How do you get the impression of her abusing zara? To me it feels like even when she provokes Zara she does it to provoke a (positive) reaction out of zara.

I don't remember the story so well, but I do remember that Vanessa likes to play with people, push their buttons. Her own sister included. Definitely not as badly as their mother did and probably without the malicious intent, but sometimes she does or tries to do it anyway. Zara just got used to it, doesn't take it seriously and often understands when she tries to manipulate her and ignores it.
I remember some kind of conversation about it over the dinner they had.
I could be wrong, as I really don't remember everything. But probably my wording was too harsh when I put her mind games into the same sentence about the abuse by their mother.
I didn't even remember the part that she protected Zara from their mother. Thanks for the reminder.
