I'm gonna give Ocean the benefit of the doubt with all the thingys he had in 2024, steam release, building/buying the workstation and oh yeah, the german taxes, but now that he is printing renders, oh boy, you better start throwing us 2 updates per year

The thing is, he has been in a perpetual state of upgrading his workstations for as long as I can remember, not just 2024. Same thing with the tax issue. Even with 2 workstations for 2 projects, as long as he continues to spread himself thin and work alone, both projects are going to continue to balloon in dev time, because as he upgrades the rigs, he then stuffs more into renders (higher character numbers, higher resolutions).

2024 consisted of reworking some old scenes (Bella burglary) for Ch5 Full, removing lewds to try lowering the Steam rating and crafting the exclusive Steam extras (renders/achievements)

I'm really looking forward to the first day of release and see if Ocean delivers on his promises and the response of his fans. Will the fans be let down or will they be happy ? time will tell. Will the year plus of waiting be worth it or will it all be a waste of time? I do know no matter what we see on season 2 chapter 1 there will be those fans that will never say it was bad or horrible, they will simp no matter what they see on the update. and I will be fair there will be Critics that even if season 2 chapter 1 is amazing they will still shit on it , they will not give it a fair chance .so it up to everyone to determine what they think of it. I for one will give it a fair chance and be honest and understanding, I do have some expectations but I'm not unreasonable but given the time we have waited I do expect some meaty content not just a bunch of pretty renders i'm looking for story progress most of all.

You're dreaming too much. Everyone here already knows and laughs at the fact that the more powerful equipment Ocean buys, the slower the chapters come out.

well i do know that it is to Oceans benefit to withhold the update and continue to have that income flow in. be it small but there is a chance if the update is shitty he could lose some patreons but i highly doubt it because his fans will love whatever he puts out and call it great and never stop supporting him. as they say Ocean will put out the update when he does and when he thinks it's really but is that the real truth or is he just like the other dev's and taking his sweet time while laughing all the way to the bank cause he know his fan are going to wait ever how long it takes and with a smile on their face and throw money at him regardless on what he does or doesn't do. I see it as like going to jack in the box and paying for a burger , fries and drink but they tell you to wait but don't give you a time but you continue to wait and wait and nothing comes and so you feel cheated .will you go back to jack in the box of course you wount why waste your money thats how i see these dev's well the ones that take more than a year for a single chapter.

No guys you don't understand, having 50 characters rendered and collectibles is paramount for game development.

Sometimes I take pity on Ocean but then I remember that he has done everything in his development alone which was fine for the first few years but his incompetence to hire and keep help is horrible on his "development" side.

Also for me, I don't really like reading books, but I have a great time playing cRPGs where most of it is left to imagination via narration . So much so that I get jaded for cinematic games that give you everything on the platter.

I don't know about you guys but for the most VNs here when I read in between a text and render I give myself some imagination to go wild. And only thing that helps for it is music (Which this VN has it the best).

One reason SG will never receive more than one chapter per year is that Ocean is his own worst enemy.

Well, this is nothing new and it's been like this forever. Just need to accept it and
move on cause it's not gonna change. Trust me on this as I was a sub for years.
I'm not no more because of the slow development. But many will always be here
waiting cause it a damn fine game! Sadly I doubt I'll be around if and when it's completed.

if i had to guess , ocean only makes about 5k per month from sg and wiab a month which means he most likely means he has another gig or job or does other VN's to make income. plus that an doing both at the same time is alot. would he make more money if he did smaller updates and released more ? maybe? but the payday he gets when releases is probably very big but still leads me to think he has other gigs which he does also to maintain income. which sucks for us cause we just have to wait and wait an wait lol.

he makes way more than that... he has 1700+ paying patrons between the two games, plus the steam income from SG.

Probably at the beginning till the first steam release of SG he made more or less like 5 - 7k maybe. But after steam his income shot up. Hence the recent hardware upgrade. Also, Patreon shutdown WiAB page resulting in loss of revenue. But he is all set now and is eager to release WiAB to increase his revenue. You'll hear about it in his upcoming Devlogs about TAXES and how much of a headache it is causing him.

Its doesn't matter how many subs he has on Patreon and he doesn't care. His income from Steam is more than enough
