For gods sake months, and years passes, and still not even same content with old version, BRUH...
Trust me I'm a cheapass. I just paid $1. But it could have went to something different, though. you are right.Today's update is free for everyone from the developer's website in less than 17 hours.
And it's already available for download from here... For free.
There was no reason to subscribe, except if you wanted to.
where i can find her?Ivy, just one scene with her, sadly.
Your mass effect examples misses the point. I don't mind side stories, they are fine. How many times tho do we get a game that has a decent story and they cuck the main plot because they fear funding will dry up if the finish the part of the game people actually care about and want to see the end. So they start working on side things for months on end racking in more money, not for a better story, but to drag out development for as long as possible.First of all, you can simply support the developer for a month an update gets released. People spend hours of their lives creating stories and learning stuff(and I'm not talking about fast AI cashgrabs).
Second: each story has a bunch of character arcs. If I simply go through the main storyline without diving deep into side characters and their arcs, what are these characters for? They'll simply be dull decorations. Like...take Garrus from Mass Effect - he's the most beloved character from that franchise. Would the main story about Reaper invasion suffer if instead of Garrus there would've been Joe from Nebraska? No. But would I care about my squadmates if they all were generic dudes? Don't think so.
As far as niche fetishes added by community vote - it simply goes to "supply-demand". If the core of my patrons ask me about adding a NTR substory to character that seems to fit that role - why not?
Everything comes down to common sense)
At the end of the day, some devs suck. Some devs don't. And some devs quit(take Ancho, for example) simply because the funding for their game is low and it's simply better for them to get regular office job instead of working on a game that will never feed them, as much as they love it.
If nobody will support us - you'll just end up playing ten games at best. Just how it was 10 years ago, when your choice possibilities were much more narrow than nowadays.
to be fair man, not every dev is like this one. TK8000 (high school tutor, solvalley school) for example pauses patreon and does not charge anyone a penny if he didnt release any new content for his games that month. so not everyone is a milker undeserving of any money.I can't think of a single game on this site that deserves a penny for development. The patreon model time and time again has shown to be a disaster. How many times do we have to see a game milk the main story and give shitty update after shitty update on some side character? Or how many games get forced niche fetishes added by "community vote?"
Too harsh. I can think of several games in the category of deserving ongoing support.I can't think of a single game on this site that deserves a penny for development. The patreon model time and time again has shown to be a disaster. How many times do we have to see a game milk the main story and give shitty update after shitty update on some side character? Or how many games get forced niche fetishes added by "community vote?"
I suggest to go all-out and stop taking products with just one transaction. Let's rent everything and pay monthly for it: house, car, clothes, phones, food, small stuff... even nails and coffins should be rented as well.First of all
100% agree. i haven't done the maths, but you probably end up paying more over time for these trash games than you would with a AAA game.I can't think of a single game on this site that deserves a penny for development. It all comes down to the developers and their games. Hell, whole "Mass Effect 2" is a one long side quest. How many times tho do we get a game that has a decent story and they cuck the main plot because they fear funding will dry up if the finish the part of the game people actually care about and want to see the end. So they start working on side things for months on end racking in more money, not for a better story, but to drag out development for as long as possible.
Community votes are great if the developer knows how to separate valuable points from bullshit. Feedback is important, mate.Community votes are just more bloat and time sinks for development but hey thats the business model. Lets not kill the golden goose.
