Similar to Kaija who I get the impression emotionally and psychologically needs her stance to be correct or else a bunch of things in her life would be wrong and start falling apart.
Kaija is a brainwashed cultist. Medb is member of an ethnicity who suffer prejudice and therefore developed coping attitudes against a real aggressor who killed elves and could kill her when possible. She maybe wrong when she says a given event was caused by templars (I think she is wrong) but she has life experience from their past conflicts that it could be the case.

Personally I think the Templars were at least involved. Once you spare Finn, Medb's ice breaks really quickly. She spends her evenings talking to MC about history, the Templars, the Alfir and their culture - so this is every evening for 7 weeks, and as far as I can tell she didn't lie about anything. She is, at least, far more open and honest than MC's parents ever were. Even if I have doubts (I don't really) I don't think MC would. I mean he just came from a situation where he found out his parents and his live in girlfriend / childhood friend had been lying to him his entire life about everything (If they lied to him about the really big stuff, who knows how much little stuff they lied about), then he meets the other Templars and finds out they're mostly a buch of whiny backstabbing bitches - then he goes to meet the elves, after the templars have told him how awful they are, and after sparing Finn and proving he's not like them - they basically treat him like family, (Another thing the Templars lied about) teach him how to fight, teach him about the last thousand years or so of the Elves, the Templars, Neverwhere - tell him about his sword, its magical properties and his history - I think that when Medb shows up and tells him the Templars killed Finn - he believes her. I don't think that it fits right in with everything he already thinks about them (they've even told him how much they hate the elves).

Edit: Do I (as a player) think there was a 3rd party involved? Maybe. But I think that it was a templar sword that ended Finn's life and I don't think Finn started it.

You don't need to "think she's wrong" about her brother. Mebd herself contradicts herself and describes separate perpetrators. So she herself knows she's wrong but she needs to keep the cognitive dissonance, blame Templars despite knowing otherwise, to make it personal. And she's willing to kill despite knowing herself she's wrong. Both factions are like this. Can't fully trust their narratives.

Its been said to death and back again in this thread, both sides are manipulated to do terrible things and war against each other. Probably by a third party. Fog of war. No fully reliable narrators, deception abound, angry people lashing out without full picture, repeat process.

But its ok, everyone is addicted to "kill them all" about who they don't like so this will be said again to death and back.
(though the memes that come out of it are fun so keep going I guess)

I guess in some way the dev is a genius in a meta way since fans keep reverting back to this.:WeSmart:

Just a depiction of what happens in the real world sadly. Its easier for most to really see it mirrored in fantasy but there will be always extreme points of view here or anywhere else unfortunately. With that said best thing the MC does is stay neutral like it seems the dev intended, both sides have their quota of blame and for me it is irrelevant who has more quota, the real war (for me and probably the MC) is try to somewhat "unite" those 2 opposite factions under another external threat hehehe. What seems an almost impossible endeavor IRL but with the power of writing "pen"/keyboard in a fantasy game story is only up to the mind and creativity of the developer/creator of the story.

It is a take, of course, I think with Kaija, it is more a personal crusade, to avenge the dead of her Grandpa and possiblily her parents, I hope Chapter 6 draws more light in.

Well, I understand that by telling my conclusions and my point of view
seemingly I attack the Word view of others, so better refrain and just enjoy the ride, ;)
I wish Ceolag a good Weekend and may the good news apear !

Dude! Attack my world view whenever you like! Hell, I've gotten to the point where I can hardly stand to look at it anyway! From where I stand the view tends to look a lot like a cluster fuck...

Rant on, xap! We've earned the right! :p

Hey everyone,

The numbers for this week:
80 new static renders for a total of 2165
0 new animations
228 new lines in the script file for a total of 6250

I finished setting up the renders and the script for the scene I've been working on. Now, the PCs need to catch up with rendering.
After that is done, I can create the next test build, which will hopefully happen next week.

And I hope to have some preview renders ready for next week's Dev Log.

The other news is that it seems to get finally better for my mother.
She had her last surgery (at least planned) earlier this week, and everything went well so far.
She's slowly waking up, and so far, it's looking way better now. We hope it stays that way now.
Thanks to everyone for your support in the past several weeks!

Have a nice weekend, guys.

Cheers,
Ceo

Let's see, Ceolag is now averaging around 66 static renders, 2.9 animations, and 189 lines per week since work on Chapter 6 officially began. Here are the charts:

It looks like we've emptied the render queue, but still no word on whether that included Elea's presumed scene or just the end of Fiona's. We'll see what next week brings us. I'm glad to hear the real world news is good; I'm sure we all hope it stays that way!
