So I gave it a try. All the videos are very stuttery. Is that normal? The video file itself plays fine outside the game. And fine in VC.
It depends on the pack. I've had issues with some like that, and more than anything, it likely has to do with the file format, the codec, and your PC. I can't explain why, but some pack creators prefer to use lower quality ones. If you use HD MP4 videos, this shouldn't happen.

Right, that's what I meant. Gloryhole is one of the categories that isn't in the normal VC folder structure, so I was hoping the game would say, "this pack doesn't have a gloryhole folder, so I'll just show a clip from the normal BJ (or whatever) default folder."
No. I think that intentionally, you need the right content for that section to play. Similarly, girls will only show up in the spa or gym if they have that content.

Why is it "intentionally" set up in a way that excludes the vast majority of girlpacks that were made for VC? It seems strange to me that the dev would work so hard to make the rest of the game compatible with VC, but then structure this part in a way that makes normal VC packs useless there.

I'm not the dev, and don't want to make it sound like I'm speaking for him. But the specific content for this game gives it more flavor. You see the content that's specific to the spa, the gym and the gloryhole when it makes sense to see it. When you go to those places on the map, or you have those activities in your own club, then it makes it more meaningful, and different than the basic content that you see otherwise.

That's how I see it too, girls are able to do more in the club, and you can hit on girls at the gym, or go to the spa and get a naughty massage, and open your own spa and offer naughty massages. You can use standard VC packs to handle the basics, and the TUSC content is easy enough to add to a VC pack if you want. Being backward compatible with VC packs meant there was a good base of packs to work from.

It's not easy when 1) some girls don't have any scenes in those categories to begin with, 2) I like a lot of variety, so I would probably want to include more than one scene in any given folder, 3) I already have a very long to-do list of things I'd like to maybe eventually do with the basic VC packs, whether it be adding new packs, taking clips I don't like out of existing packs, adding extra scenes to existing packs, etc.

If I do anything with those categories at all, it'll probably just be copying all the clips from the default folders into the specialty folders, which seems way less easy than if it just worked that way automatically in the game. At this point, I don't even feel like it's worth the bother to do that (since I can see all those clips on the regular stage anyway), so I guess I'll probably just be skipping those categories that give it more flavor and make it more meaningful.

And honestly, it's a shame, because gym and massage settings are actually big turn-ons for me. I think if there was a big assorted folder with random clips of no one in particular getting fucked at a gym or spa, I'd probably really like those (and I'd probably enjoy adding some more of my own occasionally). But I don't think I care nearly enough to hunt down multiple specific scenes for multiple specific girls. If I start small and just do one scene for one girl, then that scene will be the only thing I see in that category until I add more, and I'll probably get sick of it. Having the default content (or category-specific content with random girls) show up at those locations would allow me the use of the locations in the game, while letting me add specific content at my own pace.

Anyway, it doesn't seem like the game is still being updated, so there's probably no point in giving feedback like this.

It always good to have conversations. And as someone who's enjoyed the game, I'm glad to see other people who do too. But the reality is that its up to you to add on or augment the packs that you have with whatever content you like, if you have the time and desire to do so. I'm personally rebuilding my entire pack database after a hard drive crash, and decided to just thoroughly make every one I'm after top notch one by one, and make sure that they all have TUSC content included. Its not a fast process, but the more you do it, the better you get it at it, and for me it will make the end result better when I have tons of girls who all have everything. But that's just me, and everyone else should do what they're happy with.

I'm thinking about maybe making a girlpack for assorted clips, and dump any massage or gym clips I have in there (I don't care about gloryholes). That seems like it might be the best middle ground for me to feel like I'm getting something out of those categories without having to find five different scenes for each girl.

Also, I kinda hate the "exclusivity dilemma" that playing both VC and TUSC creates. If I only put a massage clip in the spa folder, then I will never see that clip in VC (which I wouldn't like, because I really enjoy massage clips). But if I put it in the default folder, then I'll already be seeing that clip sometimes without visiting the spa, so it won't seem as meaningful to go to the spa for those specific clips.

On a related but tangential note, sometimes I feel like I enjoy making clips more than I enjoy playing the games that use the clips. But if I didn't play, I wouldn't have the impetus to make the clips. It's ironic.

Honestly, its never so much about finding X number of scenes, as it is just happening upon one good vid that has that as a theme, and picking which parts you want to use. I use Eporner and Spankbang to find clips of porn stars (I have a vast collection that I've built for ages), and Brazzers tends to be a studio that does a lot of gym scenes for example. A lot of notable stars who've worked in the last 10-15 years have something akin to that pretty easy to find. For massage, there are European studios that do (or did, its hard to know who's still around) great stuff with that, and there were a few different US ones around about a decade ago where tons of girls have one scene with them. Most of what I pull from with regards to that is along those lines, however I do sometimes also just kind of go more liberal and use good looking shower or sauna scenes for spa as well. To me, the important thing is that its hot and sexy more than does it literally match the official designation. Glory hole is what it is, but there are a few that have popped up that surprisingly get a lot of name stars to shoot a scene. Quality is often questionable, even with the big stars with those though.

The game doesn't use the same hiring cost structure that VC does, and I think that there's an upper limit to how much any girl can cost. For example, I have girls I've tagged at 10k and more in VC that cost 1000-1500 in TUSC. And then you can negotiate that down by progressing towards 100% with her.

If you have not hired a girl yet, I believe that the cost will change if you alter it in the file, then reload the save. Pretty sure.
I've noticed that the hiring in the game is flexible. You have to somewhat negotiate, but I don't know what a good price is for anyone. Is it intended that I get them to 100% and then pick the default offer, and then get back to 100% and move it up a bit, etc and repeat until I get the best, low offer they are happy with? I find that even in the early game I'm running into problems just breaking even.

Another issue I've had in the game is that I ran into a problem a few times where no girls were ready for club opening. But I couldn't figure out why. I had 3-6 girls at one point and none of them were ready for over a week. At which point I just went back to VC for a bit, but there are some mechanics in this game that are kinda cool so I'd like to try to make it work. Big benefit that I don't have to have the girl pack folder in 2 places as you can select where TUSC reads from.

Once you get any girl to 100 hearts, you can offer her half of what she's asking for and feel confident that she'll accept. I've defaulted to just doing that all the time. If I start a new playthrough, I often don't even hire anyone for well over a week to start because of that.

As far as who is ready to work and not, honestly it sometimes still goes over my head. Energy and mood are contributors, but not the end all. But once you have enough girls hired, it doesn't matter all that much. And that's only ten to twelve, not 30.

I used to have over 350 packs and it never gave the game a problem. However, there was absolutely a factor that some of them absolutely never, ever showed up in the game when I did that. And the packs worked in VC, and they worked if I were to plunk them into a different folder and choose that to pull from in TUSC. The game is just picky as to which ones it goes with for reasons that are a mystery to me.

Yep. But the price (actually, the salary) will reset to the original as you erase your relationship with that girl.

If you modify a girl's price in the JSON file, does that take effect in existing saves, or do you have to start a new game?
The price isn't used in TUSC to compute salaries. The salary depends on the girl popularity.

In general, several of the girl properties get initialized/randomized on game start, so if you change some aspects in the girlpack they won't take effect in existing saves.

I'm aware of this on some packs. Never really figured out what's the actual issue there. Decoding should be performed by the included ffmpeg lib, so again, not sure why some videos exhibit that behaviour.

I think *useless* is a bit too extreme here :)
The game doesn't exclude anything from VC packs, it just have its own sections, and the existence of those sections in the first place makes sense only if the content is different. In other words: what's the point of having an entire separated section and workshift for a blowjob scene if that scene it's already achievable in VIP?
IMO there's no need to have all the packs including contents for all the sections; the game is perfectly playable with just a limited set of girls with content for those sections. Or at least, this was the idea when I started working on TUSC years ago.

The advantage of girlpacks is that you can decide which option is best for you. I find this quite cool.

In my experience (made a few packs over the years) as soon as you have even 1 valid source video for gym/spa/gloryhole performance is quite easy to make several scenes for TUSC. ofc you need the original content to exist, but yeah, as soon this condition is met, I think it's not such a burden to expand a VC girlpack with TUSC specific content.

As Logan1377 mentioned, if you reach 100 relationship you can cut the salary by half.
So in general at 0 is full price, at 100 is half price, the middle linearly follows the same principle.

Yep, in general the contributing factor are mood and energy. Over a week sounds strange, you probably got stuck in some bug in processing/girls restoring. The "best hack" is probably what Logan1377 said, and thus to have at least 10 girls hired.

Anyway, it doesn't seem like the game is still being updated, so there's probably no point in giving feedback like this.
Feedback is always valuable, conversations about game design and mechanics are always nice to have :)

On the lack of updates: I know. And in some measure I feel sorry about that, but on the other side I'm not really. A lot happened in the last couple of years in my personal life, and thus on one side I had very little time to think about TUSC, on the other side I kinda lost part of the original interest/enthusiasm in updating the game and evolving it.
Boy, at this point I'm not even sure I remember the plan for the next steps I wanted to take after 1.0 :)
I'm not sure whether I'll get back actively developing TUSC, we'll probably figure that during the year. Regardless, I'm quite happy the community kept building and updating packs, and even without any new release of TUSC – and with the exception of few bugs in night processing/day scheduling – the game was still enjoyable from some people :)

### Market concept

Reputation and popularity will also be properties of rival brothels.
As a direct consequence, customers, and thus income, will depends on the market share.

Ideally those stats should be visible in charts/reports.

### Population concept

Population – and thus customers, as part of population – will be divided into *classes*.
Which means, depending on the class, customers will be able to spend different amount of money.
As soon as reputation increase, the percentage of customers from higher classes will increase, and the ones from the lower ones will decrease.
Popularity should affect how much of the population brothels can intercept: ideally popularity should affect more lower classes than higher ones.

Given we have the "market concept" in place, population will create the actual market.

The customers classes percentages should also affect night *chances* of something bad happening. The more ppl from the lower class, the higher the chance and vice-versa.

### Popularity and reputation dynamism

Ideally both popularity and reputation should be affected by how the brothel runs.
The previous stats bumps provided by brothel upgrades should be kept in place (at least in some form), thus the dynamic part should affect the values up to a certain amount (TBD), and avoid changing such values too much.

Some examples might be:
- a failed chance should lower reputation by some amount
- keeping the club closed at night should lower popularity by some amount
- failing to serve all the customers requests should lower reputation
- girls popularity should also affect the brothel one (but only if they actually work)
- amount of girls with unlocked abilities should affect reputation

### Actual competition

In the same way the player hire girls from rival brothel (*stealing* 'em), the rival brother can do the same with your girls.

The relative gameplay might look like:
- depending on some set of variables (girl mood, relationship with her, etc) some girls will be randomly contacted by rivals
- those girls will ask you to go visit them (aka *we need to talk*)
- minimal story flow with negotiation chance on salary
- the girl will go/stay depending on the story outcome

ofc the player can go to the rival club and try to hire the girl again, but some penalties should apply (eg: even higher salary, negative relationship?)

Ideally, rivals with no more girls should go out of business; it's still unclear at this point if this means forever, or they can still steal from you and re-open. Probably the latter (keeps the gameplay active event at day 1k).

### City assigments as employees

Given the changes for *competition*, the city scheduler should be revised as:

- girls' roasters assigned as employees to a specific location should be kept in place (instead of just ~random)
- we can still have rotation based on turns (as per 1.0, girls are kept in place for some no of hours aka turn)
- locations like the disco can be kept fully random (which also keep the chance to spot more girls)

Some additional rules might apply (eg: a girl working in bar during the day can have 2 jobs and also work at a brothel by night) and general fixes (spa and gym schedule appears weird sometimes).

### Brothel management improvements

Ideally, we have all of the following:

- ability to choose the ticket, vip, spa, consumables prices (within some ranges?), this should be taken into account by processor for the population/market share
- ability to create roasters in dispositions (eg: create groups 1..N with relevant dispositions and apply with 1 click)
- special nights: can be literally everything, from discounts, to limit zones, limit performances, etc.

### 3rd party services

Maybe not for 2.0, but ideally:

- escort service: gameplay might be like receiving special requests and sending girls over for a high quote
- webcam during the day: not sure about gameplay yet, might require to buy relevant tools and record stuff to watch later in CCTV? the "weak" part is the limited kind of content here, as it will be limited to masturbation. Should we do a new video category in packs? not sure. But the latter would open the chance to have some "special" packs with just that kind of content (thinking about the whole *webcam gangbang* genre), but is unclear wether this actually fits into gameplay and how easy is to produce such packs.

I'm a big fan of the popularity and rep aspect, and then leading that into the competition. It would give a great reason to go slowly with the game and pay close attention to all of the girls, needing to build up your relationship with them and ideally know what makes them tick so that if you don't meet their needs, someone else might. It would be especially good if you, or a rival, were to get too ambitious or risky it could really come back to bite you in the ass, and you could look for opprotunities to steal girls when their club has trouble. I also in general like the idea of being forced to choose which girls out in the city you're going to give attention to, once you get to a certain point, because if you don't sign them someone else will, instead of them just lurking there forever.

Reputation and popularity will also be properties of rival brothels.
As a direct consequence, customers, and thus income, will depends on the market share.

Ideally those stats should be visible in charts/reports.

### Population concept

Population – and thus customers, as part of population – will be divided into *classes*.
Which means, depending on the class, customers will be able to spend different amount of money.
As soon as reputation increase, the percentage of customers from higher classes will increase, and the ones from the lower ones will decrease.
Popularity should affect how much of the population brothels can intercept: ideally popularity should affect more lower classes than higher ones.

Given we have the "market concept" in place, population will create the actual market.

The customers classes percentages should also affect night *chances* of something bad happening. The more ppl from the lower class, the higher the chance and vice-versa.

### Popularity and reputation dynamism

Ideally both popularity and reputation should be affected by how the brothel runs.
The previous stats bumps provided by brothel upgrades should be kept in place (at least in some form), thus the dynamic part should affect the values up to a certain amount (TBD), and avoid changing such values too much.

Some examples might be:
- a failed chance should lower reputation by some amount
- keeping the club closed at night should lower popularity by some amount
- failing to serve all the customers requests should lower reputation
- girls popularity should also affect the brothel one (but only if they actually work)
- amount of girls with unlocked abilities should affect reputation

### Actual competition

In the same way the player hire girls from rival brothel (*stealing* 'em), the rival brother can do the same with your girls.

The relative gameplay might look like:
- depending on some set of variables (girl mood, relationship with her, etc) some girls will be randomly contacted by rivals
- those girls will ask you to go visit them (aka *we need to talk*)
- minimal story flow with negotiation chance on salary
- the girl will go/stay depending on the story outcome

ofc the player can go to the rival club and try to hire the girl again, but some penalties should apply (eg: even higher salary, negative relationship?)

Ideally, rivals with no more girls should go out of business; it's still unclear at this point if this means forever, or they can still steal from you and re-open. Probably the latter (keeps the gameplay active event at day 1k).

### City assigments as employees

Given the changes for *competition*, the city scheduler should be revised as:

- girls' roasters assigned as employees to a specific location should be kept in place (instead of just ~random)
- we can still have rotation based on turns (as per 1.0, girls are kept in place for some no of hours aka turn)
- locations like the disco can be kept fully random (which also keep the chance to spot more girls)

Some additional rules might apply (eg: a girl working in bar during the day can have 2 jobs and also work at a brothel by night) and general fixes (spa and gym schedule appears weird sometimes).

### Brothel management improvements

Ideally, we have all of the following:

- ability to choose the ticket, vip, spa, consumables prices (within some ranges?), this should be taken into account by processor for the population/market share
- ability to create roasters in dispositions (eg: create groups 1..N with relevant dispositions and apply with 1 click)
- special nights: can be literally everything, from discounts, to limit zones, limit performances, etc.

### 3rd party services

Maybe not for 2.0, but ideally:

- escort service: gameplay might be like receiving special requests and sending girls over for a high quote
- webcam during the day: not sure about gameplay yet, might require to buy relevant tools and record stuff to watch later in CCTV? the "weak" part is the limited kind of content here, as it will be limited to masturbation. Should we do a new video category in packs? not sure. But the latter would open the chance to have some "special" packs with just that kind of content (thinking about the whole *webcam gangbang* genre), but is unclear wether this actually fits into gameplay and how easy is to produce such packs.

As a new player, I think I would like it if the game had more sophisticated management gameplay, but I'd also like if the opposite were available as an optional mode. I think it would be nice if there were a free-play sandbox mode here, where all the girls are recruited at the start, and you're just choosing whose packs you'll be looking at that night. I think of VC as kinda being a "semi-random porn clip viewer" more than a game. I don't play it because the gameplay is exciting, I play it because it's a delivery system for porn video clips, that I can control and customize a lot better than something like Wife Trainer or College Daze. I came into this game with the expectation for it to be basically that, but showing one clip at a time.

I wanted to do a quality over quantity thing with this game, since I already can do quantity in VC, so I only put in 11 of my most polished packs. 6 of them were available for cheap right away, but a couple of my most favorite girls were so expensive that I wouldn't be able to turn a profit if I recruited them, even if I got them for half price. That kinda blew the whole "quality" aspect, and it lost a little luster for me. Some of your ideas there sound like they would make it harder to recruit (and keep) my favorite girls. As a game, that's not necessarily a bad thing, but as a gallery viewer for my favorite pornstars, it would probably be pretty annoying. So, if TUSC had a mode where you didn't have to worry about any of that and could just use it as a pure gallery viewer (maybe with some basic NGU of the strip club's profits), then I could play the more sophisticated game when I felt like actual gameplay, and play the gallery viewer mode when I just wanted to look at clips.

I like the idea of the clubs competing for girls. You know where else real life clubs compete? For feature girls on national tours.

After your club reaches some sort of prestige, expensive girls with national reputations should start approaching you (or your competitors) or be available to hire them. These would be limited runs, maybe as short as one night, that would push your club's popularity and prestige significantly. After that, the girl leaves the club and moves on to the next town.

There should be a viable business model where you have one feature girl in place on every weekend.

Beware, I'm not saying I gonna work on this any time soon, it's more to collect feedbacks and possibly start some discussions.
I think any and all of these ideas you have for version 2 would be welcome improvements to the game, giving it a bit more strategy. I especially like the idea of market share and competing with other clubs.

You're making tons of money, can't buy any more improvements, and you're selling through all your supplies every day. So then what? Maybe competition makes it impossible to get to that point, maybe not. But being able to do something once you have your club maxxed out, like maybe buying one of the other clubs, so you can operate more than one?

I agree. Another level to the game that you can't even access or unlock until you have it maxed out is a good idea. Perhaps elite girls that are only available at that point, high end escort contracts, etc.

I'm not really intrigued by the idea of TUSC being basically a video player. A game should be a game.
I mean, at that point it's probably just faster if you create VLC playlists from girlpacks and just use a real video player for that.

CaptC do you picture this working automagically, like the game randomly selecting some girls on start for that pool, or more like an opt-in feature, so it requires packs to declare "hey, this girl is available for national tours" somehow?

Sounds like an option; maybe depending on the business runway you can acquire one of the other clubs. But probably that should happen independently of whether the other club is out of business: maybe the mechanic should allow you to make offers to acquire the rivals, and depending on some metrics those offers might be accepted/rejected. wdyt atmosphere1980 ?
