Or at least any kind of save or file to advance stages, for me for example it's impossible to play normally because i'm impeded of an arm because of an accident, so difficult to have to go through all the game just to see this last update content, you need to reach the Chapter 4 right?
https://thef95zone.info/threads/thornsin-v0-6-8-scarlet-paper.116743/post-10876858 install this. download the one specified for x64 , launch the game once, then put the cheat mod inside the specified folder. It works on 0.7

It's easy to test. I'll attach unpacked source project files for several TS's animations/objects to this post. Try to open projects files with that demo version.
I believe current trial version actually allows you to do things to some extent, but I'm not sure what limitations they set up for it.
As for how to find out which version you'll need to open projects even before you try to load them in in Spine: open .json file and look at numbers in the first line:

And now you know which version developer used to export the file. Keep in mind that TS's Spine usage is not constant and they change versions from time to time.

Oh and TS also use a not-so-trivial texture packing/unpacking method which I explained here before, but in short - unpacked sprite resolution is much higher than it's used in-game, while included .atlas file use different texture dimensions. I didn't figure it out, so in the attached example textures are upscaled to a required resolution, but you can't repack them properly for game specs as is.
IT DOES! the only problem so far is the fact that we cannot unpack the textures atlas ourselves it seems, and it will give us an error. It says "WARNING: Nonessential unchecked when exporting, mesh internal edges lost:". Was this the texture rescaling thing you were talking about? ill try to rescale it myself later and see if thatll work. (to what resolution do i even rescale them though? is that data located in the atlas? i probably did something wrong because that doesnt seem to be the answer) Also as a note, the trial version is 4.2.39. Hope this info helps anyone that is interested.

(I think it would also be really great if someone out here is willing to put in the effort to rescale every single image according to the atlas so we can edit them immediately, but i figured that would probably be too much work)

Ok, thank you for the answer. I'm sorry to ask but do you think you would you be willing to do us a favor and create a mod that would replace these textures ? Completely understand if it's too much of a bother.
On another note : here's a link to the 0.70 beta right from the patreon

Pretty much. Basically, I've seen 3 approaches with Spine Textures:

- .atlas and .png files have same resolution, packs and unpacks super-easy. Just need to know if it has "Premultiplied Alpha" setting or not (4.0+ marks that at .atlas file with line "PMA: True").
- .atlas and .png files have different dimensions at the scale of x2 fixed, typically. That's when some problems starts with editing it in Spine. You usually need to upscale images and then downscale it properly.
- TS's method when .atlas says something like 5380x2338 and .png have 4096x2048 which game actually use. So to edit it in Spine (to be able to extract it on your end) you'll need to scale it and then edit. And then you're done you pack it back but game will only accept 4096x2048 with EXACT same 5380x2338 resolution which was stored in the original .atlas.

So this behavior tells me that it's likely "hardcoded" in Assembly and unpacks using some formula on a runtime. This is incredibly inconvenient for modding.

- It says "WARNING: Nonessential unchecked when exporting, mesh internal edges lost:"
Yep, they also using a specific setting on export which saves on .json output size. Sometimes it saves a lot of space and it shouldn't really bother you, but it also doesn't help with modding...

However, it still puzzles me that TS using 4.2 spine with physics module still use .JSON for animations. Somebody, please, get this man a gun tell them to consider .SKEL (Binary) output implementation.
It will require some additional work but it's much lighter and performance-effective.

Why not just look up the various scenes in a video somewhere instead if you can't play the game? I'm pretty damn sure you can find most (if not all) of them on Rule34video, for instance.

Save File, place it on C:\Users\"YOURUSERNAME"\AppData\LocalLow\ScarletPaper\ThornSin
I'm not sure why but when I extract the save file there it doesn't do anything, I'm just forced to start a new game. Not sure what it is I'm doing wrong but if anyone has any idea then I'd appreciate the help.

For everyone complaining about having to replay the game every time, it auto saves every time you enter a new room, you can then go to the menu > return to title > copy the save file from C:\Users\"YOURUSERNAME"\AppData\LocalLow\ScarletPaper\ThornSin (gamedata00.save) and put that in a seperate folder, I have a save for every single floor and every boss.
