Possible that you didn't update your game in the correct order. Download the complete game again from OP. Don't worry about your saves they are stored in your hidden library folder and won't be deleted.

that was from the complete game. After i restarted the game seems to work just fine though

Had the same problem on a M1 MacMini: I just restarted the game and all went well the second time around.

The game does seem to have some problems running on Big Sur, though

Will the incest patch available on first page from 1 January 21 work with the new 15-2 update of the game?

I have an incest patch since version 36061 without replacement and it works great. In fact, in this patch, nothing changes with the update, to be sure of this, open two different versions with Notepad and see - there are no differences.

It kinda looks like an engine loading error cause by system/engine files not loading in the correct order since restarting the game seems to fix the issue. As far as I know NLT use a bunch of external plugins which need to load first before the game actually start - not to forget that RPG Maker MV is written in JavaScript.

My point still works : if you try to load the ~200MB update, you'll lack a bunch of critical stuff, hence why the engine fucks up and the game crashes. Noodles being noodles doing noodles things though, they'll always find new ways to fail
