Funny how you're talking about money but I'm only seeing people who are not paying him and playing a leak at best and at worst are basing their complants on what other people have said without actually playing complaining here while most people who were paying him seem to be happy with the update.
"Everyone (assumption) who is critical of my favorite h-dev didn't pay for something they wouldn't have liked, therefore the fact they didn't like it means it's good... or something!"

>Most people who were paying him...

Most people who back someone tend to hold back on criticism for someone whose projects they like(d). One can like OOT and/or its premise (which I do find interesting) and find Tropicali's conclusion to be genuinely bad. By your own admission there have been some other backers who didn't like it either. So there's an obvious disconnect with your comment here.

Regardless, I hope this will just let them focus on OOT. Simple as that.

Does this game have different endings???

I've finish the game and decide to get them pregnant. But can't see any scene or pictures of them having pregnant belly
The game unfortunately doesn't have pregnancy content or even showing a pregnant belly. It is impregnation only with flavour text of being pregnant.:cautious:

Could have been easily solvable at the ending slide when the game explained what happened to them because there it is ambitious how much time could have passed. But it is what it is.
Yeah, I know. I am not saying the game contains rape, I am saying that the crying over not getting a happy non-manipulative harem-incest ending is like crying over the MC not being loved by a LI that the player choose to rape. IE actions can have consequences even in porn games.
I...really don't understand your point. There was no rape in this game so it is a bad example to bring up. Actions have consequences yes but if the MCs actions were supportive of Gloria why not have her develop actual feelings for him and give the player a sex scene when he is acting good? At the end of the day this is still a game.
Also for example Gloria loved the MC even on his possessive path. A bit twisted but loved him nonetheless. I guess her repeating the line from Fernando "No one will ever love you as I will do" says it all. Those two have found each other.

Also is it really so reprehensible for people to ask for a feel good story? Even if the game is not to be that and is trying to convey something the question itself is totally understandable. People play porn games or games in general to escape. To feel good. They actively want to embrace silly fantasys or to wank off while playing a game with power fantasys and not be lectured that all this is highly unrealistic or bad even. Real life right sucks ass so peoples reaction playing through the game and got presented with the ending by doing what the game is nudging you to do is just understandable. No?
Can I have a save file with a different type of endings??? I've finish the game with an ending of shooting the french dude and a little bit of summary of ending. I did choose to impregnate them all.

Or at least can someone provide the choices to get other endings.
Then you basically got the ending stuff everyone else got for their first playthrough. Now you need to go back and choose not to engage in a relationship with Jessica, Kaouro and Laoise and choose options during Gloria events that are not possessive of her aka the upper options.

The ending itself changes only by how you act around Gloria really. A few pages back Nennius was so kind and posted a save file with those option already done. Check it out.

This one is significantly worse than that, since the author has pretentions.

This isn't a porn porn game, this is a misery porn game, made by a person that seems to miss the whole point of these games, the genre he's writing in, and why people play them, on purpose.

I don't understand why people defend having hours of their time wasted on what is basically a glorified shitpost. It's not deep, it's not poignant, it's not unique, it's just a shitpost.
I dunno, maybe because they didn't want to do something boring? Something you expected? Maybe because they weren't interested in making something that exists solely for you to beat off to?

Pro Tip: That's what PornHub is for.

As it turns out, there is a cadre of people who enjoy these experiences for what they offer as a whole. Not everything with tits in it needs to be an expressely wham bam thank you ma'am affair; you can in fact enjoy Game of Thrones without needing to drop trou every time some tits flash on screen. If you want a comfy harem game that does zero to challenge the reader, your options are almost endless. Everyone and anyone (including ChatGPT) can shit out a 'story' about a 'lovable' protagonist where hordes of women 'fall in love' and literally throw themselves at his feet. They are a dime a dozen, take your pick.

Now is this game avant-garde or the Next Great American Novel? No, and it's not trying to be. What it is, is interesting; because it is doing more than being something that exists solely for titillation. This isn't something intended to be played just to get your rocks off. The fantastic renders are the icing on the cake here; but icing alone does not a meal make. If you're powering through an entire management game and visual novel hybrid just to get to the tits, you're kinda missing the forest for the trees.

Being upset at this game for not just being a 'porn porn game' makes as much sense a person who likes chicken trying out chicken cordon bleu for the first time and being upset at it for not tasting like a chicken nugget; it's not really the cordon bleu's fault it isn't a nugget.

I said most only because I don't have patreon/subscribestar so I can't say for everyone but I didn't see any negativity on discord among patrons. Also he isn't my favorite dev, I work with him, just not on Tropicali, for Tropicali I only edited music for the first demo and helped with testing.

I agree with previous posters, the ending was a huge let down. Super disappointing and very much ruined the whole game for me. I'd leave a 1 star review but I don't want to be petty about it as clearly some people liked it.

Go ahead. It's only petty if your review is little more than sour grapes. If you have a critical opinion and you can substantially back it up with more than 'just because', then have at it. The averaged star rating means sweet fuck all. The only reviews worth anything are those who take it seriously and have something worth saying (e.g. more than 'I just liked/disliked it' or 'I found it very hot/not hot'), regardless of rating.

As it turns out, media literacy isn't a widespread skillset. Who knew?

I don't know if the developer browses here but if he does, wanted to say Yoko's Trainee and Rina's Trainer skills currently aren't working. After noticing they've fallen well behind the others that have an XP buffs, I tested it out. Putting them together in the same building basically does nothing.

I like harem games where a harem is culturally acceptable, and therefore way more realistic. Don't get me wrong - there are plenty of modern-day-setting harem games that are good because the story is good and your suspension of belief starts way before the harem does (Eternum). Even if the settling is unrealistic but harem fits the culture (Desert Stalker) I think that's the better kind of harem. Tropicali was great throughout - the scenes were amazing. We knew the MC was toxic and gaslighting all of these girls if we chose to. But without claiming to be 'x' religion, how else are you going to obtain a harem in modern times? MC isn't a billionaire, but he does have a silver tongue and knows how to choose broken women.

Honestly, the setting, the music, the renders, the dialogue, we ALL fantastic. I just went into it actually reading the beginning and knowing I wasn't stepping into the shoes of a good guy.
Well, for me it is two things. The first is that I like the darker themes in my porn games, which I also consider harem to be (including jealousy, rivalry and so on), as it is inherently unfair and unequal. The second is the thing you are talking about, I prefer when games are realistic/believable, which a jealousy-free happy go lucky harem in a modern western setting simply isn't. So tropically fits perfectly fine for me, even though it is pretty light on the dark themes (yeah, the MC is a scumbag for how he uses the LIs, but sexually it isn't very dark). Of course, that it is actually well written, which can't be said for the overwelming majority of harem games, doesn't hurt either.

If you really want to make a realistic harem story in a modern setting, I think that can be done, but it requires an MC that has rather loose morals by today standards, who is dominant to a high degree and who is willing to go to the mat to convince the women he is with that it is natural for him to have multiple women while no other man is allowed to touch them. And for him to be succesfull, he of course need to have basically everything that would make him attractive in the eyes of women who could maybe, potentially, be fine with that kind of relationship. My personal experiences tells me that it is easier to find women who wouldn't mind being raped or participate in rape on regular basis, than it is to find women who wouldn't mind being in a harem relationship (which probably says as much about how much women fantasise about rape as it does about how little they care for harems... :KEK:).

As for the two games you mentioned, I enjoy both, because both are quality games. But despite the general quality of the first one, it doesn't do harem good at all, there is almost no jealousy and the MC doesn't have to do anything to get the completely unbelievable harem, it simply falls in his lap (but he is at least portrayed to be conventionally attractive). The second is much better in the sense that you get a setting that explains how he can have a harem and there is still some jealosy there (between the sisters). I still think there should have been more jealousy and some more effort could have been spent on explaining how it works and how relations between men and women generally function in that society, but I'll definately take it compared to the average harem game (that it is good in general does of course not hurt either).

Why would a thing I choose to utilise as a comparison need to be from the game? That's a weird requirement.

If you require a hero MC who accuire a happy go lucky incest harem without effort and where everyone is fine with the arrangement, then you don't really want actions to have consequences in your game. Which is fine, people can like what they like. And in a similar vein, it is not reprehensible to ask for happy endings and conflict free and frictionless harem relationships, but it will, in my mind, result in a game of lesser quality.

As for the bitching going on in this thread, that is not so much asking for a happy ending and all that, because the game is already done. And considering
A) the ratio of happy go lucky frictionless and completely unrealistic harem games to darker, but more realistic, harem games as well as
B) the fact that the MC being an exploitative asshole and the story heading for a dark ending is *repeatedly* foreshadowed and pointed out in game,
I think the whining going on here is kind of dumb. It is a little bit like playing a game tagged with NTR and then moaning and bitching about the game containing NTR. Like, what did you expect? Go play one of the multitudes of games who are not tagged with NTR if you hate NTR.

EDIT: Also, as for comparison, let's look at the tags this game has: Corruption, Drugs, Female domination, Groping, Harem, Humiliation, Incest, Male domination, Mind control and Slave. That alone gives any player a fair warning that the story isn't vanilla.

Nah, people shouldn't down rate games just because the game contains fetishes they don't like. They should strive for rating based on objective quality, not on the games ability to avoid things they dislike for personal reasons (ie, a straight dude should not down rate all games containing gay sex just because he doesn't like gay sex, that has everything to do with his personal preferences and nothing to do with objective quality).

To be fair, you have to have a very high IQ to understand Tropicali ending. The humor is extremely subtle, and without a solid grasp of theoretical psychology most of the jokes will go over a typical viewer's head. The fans understand this stuff; they have the intellectual capacity to truly appreciate the depths of these jokes, to realize that they're not just funny- they say something deep about LIFE. As a consequence people who dislike Tropicali ending truly ARE idiots. I'm smirking right now just imagining one of those addlepated simpletons scratching their heads in confusion as storyanon’s genius unfolds itself on their screens. What fools... how I pity them. And yes by the way, I DO have a Gloria tattoo. And no, you cannot see it. It's for the ladies' eyes only

Eh, how could opinions be voiced about the ending before the game is finished. People are only be able to now because the game is over.
Yes there were these foreboding lines but up until the last version no one could predict what actually will happen and the game up to the point was pretty lighthearted with the occasional mystery stuff story anon is good at. The majority of people like those frictionless harem games like you mentioned because they want to feel good. Story Anon actively didn't want Tropicali to be that and its fine. But the outcry was to be expected.

Anyway I liked the back and forth but ultimately it all boils down to preferences. People liked the ending or they don't. The reason for that is irrelevant really because everyone has different preferences. I liked the ending because it absolutely went bonkers and I also did not felt bad for the cast except for Kaoru.

Just for the lols I did a playthrough in which I played a good fernando and pursued only jessica. No cheating with another woman and I was supportive of gloria and no frenchman was killed. The game still behaved as if jessicas world has crumbled to dust as in the bad ending. Felt weird.:KEK:

Of course and absolutely yes but these are no indicator how the ending might be. :HideThePain:
To be fair, you have to have a very high IQ to understand Tropicali ending.
Then I implore you to explain in your own words the ending for everyone who has a low IQ instead of insulting them. Maybe then opinions will shift about it but I guess you won't.

It is easy to say the ending is genius but so far I haven't saw anyone who tried to explain it or is trying to drive an active discussion about it.
