Another vote on which old art will be animated in update 24(2)
Hey everyone!
So, it's been over a week since the voting started on which of the old scenes you'd like to see animated. Scene number 5 with Elyon in the “full nelson” pose won by a wide margin! It's hard to call it “old” since it literally appeared in update 0.24, but we purposely sometimes add scenes from recent updates to give them a chance to go to animated format faster.
Since we already know the results of this poll, we can get right into the next one. This time you will also have to choose one of the old scenes that you would like to see animated. Actually, you can see a set of these scenes in the picture attached to this post.
Speaking of the topic of animated scenes, we are now doing a small count of all available scenes, sprites, characters and other things. We do it not only for the sake of interest, but also because in the future we plan to create a small picture with all the current statistics, because the content in the game has accumulated so much over time that few people can boast of such a volume in our industry. If we talk about animated scenes, by the time version 0.24 was released, we counted about 60 of them! Considering that there are about 360 original scenes in the whole game, this means that every sixth scene in the game is animated. When we first started this project, we had no idea that we would reach this volume!
As for the development progress, we are still working on the gameplay structure and mini-games. I think it's worth mentioning that the result with which you go through the gameplay segments in update 0.25 will influence some scenes in future updates (anyway, we'll mention it in the game itself for those who miss this post). We've put quite a lot of resources into environments and backgrounds this time around. Not only because they're related to an important game segment that influences some scenes in future updates, but also because we wanted to fill these backgrounds with a lot of interesting and fun references. Maybe in the next post we'll show you the line art of one of the levels.
Speaking about the rest of the development details, soon we will start putting the whole game together, inserting sprites, assembling scenes and making many variations of character emotions. All in all, the next few weeks are going to be the most painstaking and routine part of our work. Wish us luck!

I wonder what's with the direction change? It takes forever to get to her actual cgs. I remember back then, once you get rid of her boyfriend, you can start porking her.
I mean, I like a good build up, and I like that it took longer to get there. However, it felt going for a trip to China, but you first go to Hong Kong, then the rest of Asia, and now you're finally at you're destination.

I just finished the current content in the game, now I'm curious, did they say anything about bringing Cornelia's sister back? or give her a bigger role in the eventual love route? it would be a waste of perfectly good goth girl.

Well, another week has passed. The development of the next update continues and now we are mostly immersed in working with the code.
We continued to work on the gameplay segment all week. Yes, it turned out to be more tedious than we initially expected, but our team is already developing ways to optimize this situation. So, besides the fact that your performance in this game segment will affect some scenes in the future, we also decided to make the most of this development.
More specifically, if you are satisfied with this new gameplay segment, then we will most likely take this mechanic as a basis and apply it in future updates. It just so happens that this game segment is designed exclusively for one update and will not be able to be applied to the next updates on its own. However, since we spent more time on this segment than initially expected, we would not like our work to disappear after one update.
Therefore, when update 0.25 is released, we hope for your feedback regarding this segment, so that we understand whether it is suitable for further use or not, as well as what and how it could be improved.
But, of course, gameplay is not the only thing we've been working on this week. Our screenwriter also worked on future plot developments. Namely, how exactly your decisions in this update will affect the future development of the plot and what interesting scenes it will lead to. If you don't go into details, then the main point is that all these plot forks are canonical. In other words, no matter what result you arrive at, the final scene can be considered canonical in the game. Usually, due to narrative constraints, we rarely manage to build something like this for you, so this time we don't miss the opportunity.
Well, now let's talk a little bit about the voting results. We encountered a small error in voting for the scenes that will be animated. We accidentally added scene number 3 to the list, which is no longer available in the game. Therefore, the scene that took the second place in the voting will be animated, namely scene number 8.
But don't worry! To make up for this moment, we decided to bring back scene number 3 in one of the future updates. As soon as this scene is added to the game again, you will be able to receive it immediately in an animated form. Thank you for your understanding and active participation in the voting!

Just played through this for the first time and I must say that the narrative has me kind of confused. One of the in-game notes mentions that what we are currently playing will later be called the “blackmail route” and that they will also develop a “love route” in the future. At the point the story ends now though it feels like it’s leaning heavily towards some sort of “redemption arc” for the main character and all female characters seem to be going in a more, well “love route” direction rather than one of manipulation/corruption.
That’s not necessarily a bad narrative to portray but it feels like the tone shift happens way too late in the game and leaves me feeling much less satisfied playing through the latest content.
