There is a bug in 8.5, if you somehow manage to gain a higher submission value than affection for Alice no events will trigger for her and effectively making any further game progress impossible.
I had to delete persistent and all saves restarting a new game to get past it, making sure the submission is maintained at a lower value than affection until the events triggered.
Maybe your hints help returning players, but for players who are new or have forgotten where and how to do objectives to carry through story completion, more details are needed in your hints. Having a data pad found by MC (that one of the workers left behind during habitat construction, story interweave there, eh) with objectives and details on how to achieve such objectives would be a great QOL improvement.
Example, objective; Get a glass of milk.
Currently this is how helpful your hints are;
Maybe go to a fridge to get a glass of milk...
This is how helpful they could be;
go to the kitchen,
get a cup from cupboard by opening cupboard grabbing glass then set it on counter top,
turn around to the fridge open the fridge, grab milk carton from within the fridge turn back to counter
open milk carton pour open milk carton into the glass setting on counter top.
return cap to carton of milk then return milk carton back to fridge.
You have obtain a glass of milk.
