No. :) You have the right to write whatever you want. Forgive me. ;) Maybe I'm just not used to this type of posts in this thread...

I’m not the 'morality police.' Seriously, lecture people? Being a teacher is the most thankless job—no one ever says thanks. I won’t do it, no matter what. I get where you’re coming from, but I’m no moralist. Actually, everything’s fine. I get you(y)

... I can only base my judgments on the factual data available. Specifically, this informative message: 'Note: 0.15.502 & v0.15.503 have minimal content; most of the previous content has been removed by the Dev to be restored in later updates (starting with v0.15.504, apparently).' Beyond that, I have no other information. I see no reason to accuse the developer of deception until it becomes blatantly obvious....
Full disclosure Bud, I wrote that note, not Zip, I was paraphrasing what I have gathered from Zips Discord about his intentions (in an effort to lessen the spam flooding the thread about the "bugged game") While I don't agree with the trolls on this thread, Zip has thoroughly earned a reputation for being a flake who has made statements about updates that are "ready" but don't arrive on several occasions over the last couple of years (his redeeming quality IMO is nobody is forced to subscribe to him, to date he has shared his updates freely, subscribing to him really only buys you early access... IF the updates happen of course).

He was planning to return the game to Sandbox in 0.15.503, but that got pushed back to 0.15.504 so who knows what that means for the restoration of the old content (I doubt the old content will be restored in one batch anyway BTW).

I never said it was specifically the developer. I'm just basing my opinion on this information. As for who wrote it - the developer or a patron... Personally, I have nothing to lose, as I mentioned before. I'm always skeptical about deadlines - most people miss them and get the feedback they deserve (you can see this with Zip as an example). But to immediately accuse him and start writing about scams... We could just wait and then really go all out describing how terrible he is and all that... Or a completely different situation might happen - the update might actually come.

I was just making sure there were no misunderstandings, there have been a lot on people on these forums over the years complaining about broken promises where none were made because they misinterpreted/misread some post or another (particularly those by people who had nothing to do with the development team). In Zips case there have been about 4 occasions over the last couple where he has said an update was ready before vanishing for 4-5 months, so just making sure you are forewarned about subscribing in the belief he will produce updates like clockwork... the smart money says he probably won't, this is the main reason people claim he is some kind of criminal mastermind. But who knows back at the beginning he was moderately regular, fingers crossed that the last few update mark a return to that (just don't hold your breath).

but as for this set of updates he has been openly talking people out of subscribing for the time being to make sure everyone likes the direction he is taking.

I have sponsored and continue to sponsor many creators, but Zip is so unique that I even started writing here. Everyone has some rules of decency, even if they charge a lot, but it's hard to find another shameless liar. He can write very skillfully and for a long time I wasn't sure if Zip was just a stereotypical 'lazy latino', but when the pattern repeated itself and he also blocked one-dollar subscriptions, I no longer had any doubts. I hope you won't have to wait that long.

I fully support this(y) I've already written several posts about how people shouldn't pin their hopes on various developers. Their promises should be taken with skepticism. The only ones who can truly make demands of a developer are their patrons. 'He who pays the piper calls the tune.' As a consumer of free content, I have no grounds to make any claims against the developer. Even if he personally promised me an update, all I could say is 'OK, maybe next time.'

Many people keep track of Zip's earnings, some call his subscribers 'children.' I don't understand why this should concern anyone. I hardly think Zip's patrons are incompetent people who don't understand what they're doing. Quite the opposite - they know him and choose to support him. Maybe he broke some promises to them. Some unsubscribed and called him names. Others stayed. That's their business.

Personally, I take no pleasure in calling someone a scammer. Especially since I was never his patron to begin with. On the other hand, we're all human with our own problems and life circumstances. I don't know Zip well enough to declare him a definite scammer who just wants to collect Patreon money without delivering.

To sum up my thoughts: if he doesn't release an update, I'll simply download another game. That's all there is to it.

Truth be told, I have a confession to make - Zip is me. I locked the $1 subscription tier specifically because of you, Sid. I stole the most precious thing from you - your peace of mind. Now you think about me every day. About how I make promises and steal bucks. I take unimaginable pleasure knowing you can't sleep properly, work, or spend time with your family. You're constantly thinking about me... What a scammer I am. I know your home number and occasionally call - when you pick up, I just stay silent. I won't leave you alone, Sid. I'll keep making promises and collecting hundreds of dollars.
P.S. Forgive me. I love you, Sid.
P.P.S. Cross my heart, the update drops tomorrow! (maybe)

Hehe, stop flattering yourself. If it's really you, then I took something from you. I hope you know what you did to deserve it. ;)

As I am a subscriber myself (1 dollar just to be clear), here is a sample of those 'competent' :

E uma piada...e besta e agente que paga ainda pra isso.

No update since September. Now it's finally here, and there's simply less content than the previous version. Wait, there's no content at all. Not even 2 minutes.and you are late and do not keep your promises

Pramim já deu ..boa sorte pra vcs , mas não renovarei mais estou abandonando esse jogo. Vc pagar esperar pra jogar isso 2m de cenas aleatórias...kkkk chega ser uma piada
That's correct. These are competent individuals who chose to support the developer based on the content they saw. Over time...the developer changed the collaboration terms, which dissatisfied both them and you. Some canceled their subscriptions citing breached promises. Others remained and keep providing financial support. As I've pointed out, these patrons are perfectly capable - their decisions are made with full awareness.

Is that what they call lies these days? Very professional. :) As for me, one dollar means nothing to me. The right price for your 'exceptionality'
These questions aren't for me to answer. Whether any compromise was possible - only the developer could know that. But I can assume the decision was weighed and considered carefully. When it comes to financial matters, people usually don't act recklessly.

We are talking about children with their 'pocket money'. I see who is writing. Swindling them is disgusting.

I only advocate for reasonable behavior and constructive communication. I do not defend specific individuals. I am not a lawyer. As for the developer, I can only base my judgments on the factual data available. Specifically, this informative message: 'Note: 0.15.502 & v0.15.503 have minimal content; most of the previous content has been removed by the Dev to be restored in later updates (starting with v0.15.504, apparently).' Beyond that, I have no other information. I see no reason to accuse the developer of deception until it becomes blatantly obvious. If a long time passes with no update and the developer disappears—then it’s all clear, and there’s no point expecting further content. There won’t be an update. Will I feel negatively toward the developer because of this? Absolutely not. The fact is, I haven’t spent a single dollar on a subscription. I’m a consumer of free content. The developer owes me nothing.

You could also factor in unforeseen circumstances in the developer’s own life—what’s going on with them? I have no idea; I don’t know them. But! I can imagine all sorts of personal hardships a person might face.

I want to clarify one thing regarding promises: I agree that it’s not good to make promises and then fail to keep them. Opinions may vary here—there could be real issues (as I’ve already mentioned), or the person might be dealing with depression. I’m not ignoring the fact that we’re all human, with our own complex social dynamics. Blaming someone is the easiest thing in the world; showing understanding is much harder. That’s my take:unsure:
O Sid tinha razão.

# Sid was right the first time.

Yeah, you're entitled to your opinion, but when someone tells you there's a lot more to it than what you're saying, that should be enough to make you hold your horses and start thinking properly...

There's no "then life happened", no "this only affects subscribers", no "he warned us about little content". He's been shitting on this community for too many years. F*ck this bs...

Where's this certainty about them being kids coming from? Got any actual evidence they're minors? Or are you just calling them 'children' because they're naive?

That's enough for me what they write and how. The game's theme also attracts a specific audience, right? :)

I'm running away, if you want, call me but I don't know Spanish so we won't get along
