I think the problem is more the way you think patreon works, Patreon is a ''support the artist" platform. You are not buying a game, you are helping an artist or a Dev by providing him money support to help, encourage him, to continue to work on his art, game or whatever he creates, developing his own skills, improving them. Creativity and originality is not something given to everyone thats desires to be an artist, there is good musician, photographer, writers, painters... and there is bad one. If you like what someone do, support him.

You are not becoming a writer because you bought a pen and paper, or a photographer because you own a dslr, same for creating a game. Skills and technic takes time to develop. Being able to concentrate on it is crucial to learn, having your head fresh to get these informations can lead too another level of creativity.

You mention Passion should be our main drives to creates... WHY?! Is your 9 to 5 job are driven by the passion? Maybe, most of people are not! Why should we need to do it only because of the passion and not to be able to make a living out of it, why you propose there is something wrong in this? Do you know the work, the investment (money and TIME) and personnal sacrifice it need to create a game? Probably not for telling these things. Lots of good game will not be available for you to play if there wasnt supporter behind them to help continue making them.

For myself, having the financial support helps me still being passionate to create and most important, continue to do it, and i'm sure 90% of the dev out there will think the same as me.

Sorry to jump on your thread Lewdlab but i see this kind of comment too often everywhere and it makes me sad. Thanks all supporter from patreon, Subscribestar, sponsus... and all the other that talks about our games, that's also help us, spreading the word is also a form of support! THANKS GUYS
I'd just add onto Motkeyz already excellent points, passion is great, and you should always strive to create genuine passionate games...

But let's see how long passion alone can last when you have bills, commitments, and have to maintain a 9-5 job in the meanwhile to survive. Would you ask the same thing of a musician? Why see them live or buy their music when you can just stream it? We have zero problems with our games being put up on F95, we only ask that people donate what they can and want if you appreciate our work.

Yes, plenty of devs abuse and take advantage of trust. Unfortunately, they continue to drag our reputations down as well, (I remember a time people would literally trust devs no questions asked - imagine that!)

And to Lewdlab personally, you better win my unoffical Captains Log dev of the year award next year mate ;) You were a big part of getting many of us earlier devs interested in dev work!

here is my unofficial android port of Midnight Paradise Elite-0.6-Remake.
You don't have permission to view the spoiler content. Log in or register now.

from now on my android ports of Ren'Py games have a 2nd, persistent save location like windows. if you uninstall an app, the save files and persistent data remain intact.
therefore the app needs the permission to access the public external storage, because it has to read and write outside its own external storage directories.
you have to grant the permission or the app is shut down.

have fun and please report problems (you can reach me ).

where can i find the aunt
There are several events that can only be triggered at certain times. If those events are triggered from the map the places often only show up at that time. So to get to the aunts place you need to go to the map during the afternoon (similar to how you need to go to the map at night in order for the nightclub to show up).

I would have agreed with you if not everything the developers do is behind a paywall. If you're not paying the artist you literally have no way to see anything related to his project besides forums like these.

And according to your last 3 sentences you haven't even read my whole message. What do you mean why passion??? why would you go for all this effort to create something you're not passionate about... and you're talking about the work as a developers... you think other jobs are not difficult?????? try teaching(helping) people with mental illness whille you're struggling with one yourself, and then tell me if you still think your job is the only difficult one (if we're talking mentally)

And i don't think they shouldn't get money, the problem starts when the only way to actually see something is behind that paywall. you're talking about supporting the artist, but usually artist release something before you supported them. no aritst started with support right off the start. actually a lot of good artist have not been accepted by their community at the beginning. but yet they still made something, cause they really wanted to create something they love.
Which is something that is missing from most of these developers.

P.S. i just want to say that most of the stuff i'm saying are actually not about lewdlab. just most of how this small industry works.

For me the last two updates were dissapointing. This last one doesn't even have enough animations imo. The time that he takes to release the new version and the time that takes to play it is not worth it, sorry to say

Well, this update for me felt underwhelming. On the bright side, I like that it got back on track and now it seems, that it finally has a proper direction. I think the stuff in this update should have probably been in a previous one. Or maybe I feel like this, because this update took longer. I expected the update to be like it is, even though I hoped for a bit more, I think. Reminds me of my experience with that movie I saw yesterday... you can guess which one. At least, MP was far more enjoyable.
