just hope that because of the complex gameplay (compared to VN) wont mean that updates will be delayed 2-3 weeks everytime because of bugs or adding something new broke something else. and then 1 more week for a bugfix to make it playable
I suppose we'll see, cause right now comparing the gameplay of MP vs DoD, it looks like a thankless effort.
Look to be proven wrong.

getting kinda tired of the MC's ego. it's not even a johnny bravo level of cool, this guy is just bad. does it get toned down a bit or does he have a dragging dick at all times?

just arrived home, not sure how much more content there is.

You do realize its just a first release, yes? Issues are not solved in a first-release :geek: These are for introductions, get-to-knows. I'm pretty certain that superdouche #1 here will have to pull his shit together later on.

yeah i know, but it came out really strong in just the first little apartment section. like, REALLY strong.

it does have a feeling of actually giving us the option to become a better person or stay the douche. so i'm hoping it will develop his character more.

He is like this intentionally. I'm fairly sure that this will/can change later on in one way or the other but his personality was tweaked into this deliberately and my guess is that its so extreme because that means a lot of room for improvement. Character developement requires a personality that needs developement if you wish to make it a happy ending. Normal likable personalities can only change for the worse you see (there is only one way from the top). So my optimistic self tells me that this a convinient pick for his personality. This way he can improve.

i think some people are being too hard on the developers(Lewdlab). its just the first release(prologue!). people are giving bad reviews just because its on unity and the mc is a douche(?) *smh* i guess this happens when you are a reputed dev (like another game from a well known developer getting all 5 star reviews on its first release)
what i am trying to say is that atleast wait for a couple of updates and let the story progress and then you can decide whether its good or bad. (tbh given the quality of the graphics and animations, even if it has a shitty story/mc it does not deserve a 1 or 2 star rating, but that's just my opinion)

So the excuse to defend this game is to say is the first update?
I leave as an example the first version of milf city and this game
Now all that remains is to wait and see how the game evolves. But it does not make sense that people defend a mediocre job saying "It's the first update" for excuses like that is that the developers of patreon will be mediocre, because no matter how good the game is they know that they will always be well received and that is why they do not strive in their jobs.

yes i totally agree with you on the fact that the two games you mentioned had content of quality and quantity on their very first releases. but i think that you can only give 2 out of 50 or maybe 100 first releases as an example. also dr pinkcake releases episode wise so it does not matter whether its the first or final release of the game. i am not trying to defend lewdlab. i think people are being a bit too hard on them because they are well known for their previous works. i have seen quite a few shitty games with 4+ star reviews and so given the quality of this (MP) work i dont think it deserves 3 star ratings, atleast not this early.
(not trying to start a fight or anything ^_^' just giving my opinion...have a nice day!)

Does this game have a bigger font size? Trying to play it in 4K shows a hilariously small font size.

Two things:
  1. I wasn't making a defendant speech in a courtroom at a trial. I was sharing my views on a personality trait. Why are you triggered just by that? I think i know the answer. You are upset and just vent. That i can understand. But while i do like arguments, i don't wish to bicker and if you are upset than its bound to become bickering. Game offers what it offers right now, it won't change just because we'd jump at eachothers' throat. I'm sorry if you expected more, something different. I stay optimistic. I don't understand why should i be clubbed just because i am..
  2. Comparing first releases and measuring them can get toxic real fast. Sets the standards too high. So if i have a favorite one then everything else is medicore, poor, bad if it delivers less or differently? Some people in history achieved amazing things by the age between 20-30. More than you or me or anyone. So we should jump off a cliff because our lifes are not worth living then? We are medicores. No joy left for us in lfe? Thats nonsense! A first release game can be enjoyable right off the bat, but a buggy mess as well and still become awesome later on. Being a DIK is not a standard. You shouldn't look upon it that way. Enjoy it for its own sake and let other Devs do their thing the way they wish (or able to). Don't expect the same from different people. Devs aren't made, they are different human beings with different talents, capabilities, inspirations, motivations and goals.
I'm satisfied with this first release. Not because its flawless because its not. I'm satisfied because i find the effort it required to deliver that animation, the renders, noteworthy and promosing regarding its future. I already know that Sin can come through with a story and isn't slacking. But just because i'm invested in the future doesn't mean i follow blindly. But at this moment the intro is good! Bugs are fixable. Issues are solvable. I can wait. If they start to slack, i can leave. Simple.

God, i can not emphasis how much of a bad defense it is to say "it's only their first release", never EVER do that. I have been playing World of Warcraft for a few years and i have heard my fare share of "it's only the first release" whenever the new expansion comes out. That ALWAYS turns into it's only the first patch of the release, it's only the second patch of the release, it's only the first raid of the release, it's only the first implementation of a new mechanic, etc... and after dozens of different "it's only the first something" excuses we end up with what is a dying, broken game, whose developers are completely tone deaf to their playerbase.

I have always tried to give the benefit of the doubt whenever i can but that doesn't mean i am naive nor am i gonna let someone pull me by the nose. Lewdlab is a team of 4 people(so they say), they are an experienced team having made an entire game already and with a few standalone expansions, they have had more then enough time to organize a proper "first release" of their new game and it ended up being a mixed bag. If it wasn't for Milfy City 0.1 and Being a DIK which just released recently and incredibly quickly compared to when the last game ended as well as being a phenomenal 0.1 release(with just 1 guy working on the whole game IIRC) i wouldn't probably be as upset as i am with how things are going here right now.

Again this game has amazing potential, it can be one of the best if not the best in it's genre in due time, but i am not gonna fall into the trap of "it's only the first patch, it's only their second patch", etc... I've seen such excuses lead to bad things and i am not interested in seeing them again. Be fair but be critical, show empathy if a DEV has medical problems, family problems but also try to hold them to their word and have some sort of expectation and standards based on their previous work.

Again you can be a fanboy and a shill that always praises and makes excuses for the game, or you can be always the negative Nancy that always finds a way to complain about the game, or you can chose the best option which is to try to be objective and give people praise when they do something good but also be fair and critical when they don't. It's your choice, it's your money.

I could write you a multi paragraph post how this is entirelly, absolutely, wrong through and through. In a very tiny nutshell: You depict the issue from an extremely self-justifying viewpoint that has very little connection to what actually transpires in those cases. I won't go into details over it here as it drifts further from the thread's topic.

So when can we expect the LewdLabocalypse where we are going to be milked dry not in a naughtly way..

Do you hear yourself when you say things like that? I mean seriously.. "not gonna fall into a trap".. i wasn't aware that this is a Deathtrap Dungeon where we can encounter the wicked evil twin LewdLap behind one of those menacing Tiers ready to unleash substandard updates upon the unwary perventurer and on a failed diceroll save his or her fate is sealed and gets transormed into an amish tax inspector sissy.

Feel free to write as long of a post as you want, because i am here for that. I want a discussion, if you think i am wrong. Show me how, don't just hand-wave it, because as it is you haven't shown me anything that's wrong with what i said. Excusing things because "it's the first release" is not a valid excuse to me. Even more so when it took just a few days for them to fix all or most bugs, my original point from the few days ago that waiting a few days or even weeks to polish out a release still remains.

So when can we expect the LewdLabocalypse where we are going to be milked dry not in a naughtly way..
Why would we expect one?

I now see the problem and i do realize how it comes off. My argument was in general in fact i started ranting more about WOW since it brought back some bad memories. I don't think LewdLabs is out to trick us or trap us in some way, but at the same time i wont just go in naively thinking that every Dev on this site has the best of intentions and has never lied or anything like that. Again not talking specifically, just in general, it's not a smart mindset to have to be overtly trustworthy. That's something that's built over time. And its just my PERSONAL look on things, you can go around doing your thing whatever that is.
Nice fanfic though, gave me a chuckle.

@Jazer1 Will elaborate in prive at some later time then because this discussion sure won't help making the game any better and would just eclipse the posts that are short but more on topic, like the guy's ask for assistance above yours.

Quoting one of the reviews
I dont get why people are not thankfull, you guys act like spoiled kids.
Thankful? We're supposed to be thankful that a dev making 30-40,000$ a month (and after 6 months of development time) throws us a lackluster release?

Whether you've pledged to this dev before like some of us have, or not, you still have every right to be critical of the product and compare it to others being released - DIK being the perfect example of a dev getting it right.

@Jazer1 Yeah exactly. DarkCookie has 6-7 times more patrons and makes 45k a month
Uff... that just makes me even more sad that DrPinkCake has only like 600 patrons, it's been more than half a day and i am still stuck replaying Being a DIK and it's only the first release lol. I really hope the support for him takes off, i wanna see more Devs like him.
