Man, it's been more than 2 years since I tried this game. Progress is laughable.

Currently looking at Lewdlab's Patreon goal, I can't help but shake my head in disbelief. This goal is sitting at 40% completion while he's at 1800+ patrons. He's basically asking for more than twice the amount of money he's currently making, just to hire a voice for his animations. Like what, are there 500 animations per update with each of them being 1 minute in length? The milking is real with this one. What a joke.

Well of course he has to play the victim, it’s the only card he has left. It’s either admit he’s a liar who has hardly worked on his game or just cry about how mean people are and how nobody knows how hard it is to work on a game.

Of course people know he’s hardly worked on the game and is lying/milking. Obviously we’ve seen him put out consistent high quality and high content updates before with DoD when he had lower spec machines, less experience, and less help from others (assuming he really has people helping him make the game and that’s not a lie). And obviously we see other devs put out more with less support and less help in less time. So it’s obvious he’s full of shit and obviously people will be upset and make mean comments. And dr. Sin knows all of that, he’s not an idiot.

But he says idiotic things and makes idiotic excuses because his patrons are idiots themselves. It’s just another bullshit excuse to keep his delusional fanboy paypigs happy and not question anything. After all how can they question Dr. Sin, they don’t know how hard it is to make a game :(. And they won’t compare him to other devs, or how he used to be, because he’s just a poor depressed guy getting bullied online, he needs their sympathy (and money), not more bullies!

So whatever, he’ll keep making stupid bullshit excuses to keep the pigs placated, Maybe one day he’ll get around to releasing an update that fails to justify its development time and then we’ll go through this all again.

The thing we have to understand is that this game is basically dead. Dr. Sin has moved on from the “trying to make money” phase. You know, the time when he actually tried to deliver a high quality product in a reasonable time to build up a following and recognition. He’s hit the jackpot.
Now he’s in the milking phase and has shown his true colors as just another lying scumbag who is just here to make false promises and claims to keep people subscribed to his patreon while he sits around doing jackshit for free easy money.

Once you get to that phase there’s no going back unless the paypigs wake up and stop subscribing. But if/when that happens you either get an abandoned game, a gumdrop/dual family situation, or an incstor situation. So ya either way, the games basically dead, maybe we’ll get a yearly 30-60 minute update until then but whatever.

Its really disappointing and sucks that this is the way so many games and developers go, but it’s to be expected with Patreon and delusional fanboys rewarding laziness. At the end of the day I’m sure many of us would also not do any work if our boss would still pay us and never fire us, so it’s not surprising so many devs do exactly that. But whatever :poop:/rant done.
Very well put.

The author may not have found a programmer to work with.
Thats a stupid excuse for such a long delay and progress. If delay a month due to not having a programmer, we understand. Its been 9 month since the last release. People should stop making excuse for him. There are legit excuses and there are milking tactics

The Beta for version 0.1 was in Feb 2019. This is a AVN game, not a AAA game. It should not have taken so long

Honestly, I really can't understand why you fail to realize that what has been happening all these years - glory, then stalling and ultimate milking phase - to Dual Family, Milfy City and Midnight Paradise is a destiny shared by the vast majority of the incest-themed games.
Ottoeight, we all live in a free society: don't like making incest games? Do what your soul lies in, the field of activity here is huge. It’s just that someone is tired and doesn’t want to work, so money is not handed out just like that, no matter what activity you are engaged in.

i dont think the problem is being incest themed games, the problem is that those guys hit the spotlight very soon and very easily, they are "victims" of their own success. they got fame and (lots of) money very quickly on their first project and then they just surf the wave of their fanbase until it worns out. the problem is that wave takes years until worns out.

Agree. Nothing to do with the theme. It's people allow them to milk so they milk. If the market dont allow it, they would have stopped

The absolute perfect solution would be if Patreon had an option to "support per release". I think they have something for youtubers where they can "charge" patrons per video upload.

There'd obviously be no way to force developers to use it, but it would put a little more power back in the supporters hands.

I think it's kinda sad too, especially seeing new games/developers come out with fantastic stuff and they can struggle for patrons while some developers rake in AFK money - at the end of the day though, it's not my money (or yours) so is it really something worth worrying about? Something to think about at least.
Patreon has that option, actually. There's a musical artist I support who does that where I'm only billed when he releases a new song.

The issue here is kind of two-fold. First the idea of only supporting a game developer per release would be a dumb system as game development takes a long time, especially if you want good graphics. So this would actually incentivize short, meaningless releases just to keep that money pumping. This isn't to defend the developer here, although if people want to give him money, fine, but rather that this is divorced from the reality of what it takes to make these kinds of games. The reason updates become sparse as time goes on is because there are often these wild ideas to start and you realize it is more difficult as the developemnt goes further. The same with any kind of creative process.

Second, in actuality Patreon already has that. You can pledge to support a creator once they release an update, get charged for that, and then quit your pledge.
