I remember Mike Inel mainly for his part in Katawa Shojo, but what's this I hear about him washing out? Is there a post I can go read about that, or is it something you can elaborate?

It's really old drama which is mostly relegated to forums, but in essence he secretly made an extremely popular Adventure Time fan game with emphasis on an aged up Finn. The crowd of people who think that aging a character past canon is a cop-out harrassed and doxxed him (If I remember correctly) so that he first panicked and continued to develop the game while removing sexual things that those people were angry about before finally caving and scrapping the concept.
Please understand that this game was 15 outfits, a dozen weapons, something like five zones and unique bosses deep and had a relatively fun story. There's even a wiki for it that's up right now. Maybe 5 minor ecchi scenes with lots of promises about more to come. He said that he was revising the idea and showed a phenominal but strangely large amount of in progress work in a post (like, Naruto was there?? IDK) before deleting everything and clamming up completely. He made another short hentai game with some other creators but he never really followed through on any of his promises and a lot of people don't trust him anymore.
Imagine if Princess Trainer had gotten cancelled years ago at peak popularity, but before major characters had actually gotten content Akabur had publicly panicked about it and deleted Jasmine's introduction scenes.

Ah, so there was harassment and subsequent unrealized potential. A tale grown all too common. It's like this way too often for Webcomics as well. I have waded through the wreckage of so, so many promising works online, but it stings even more when it's lovely art or stories. Thanks for summing it up for me.

So, I don't know if I'm the only one, but the game crashes out during the first episode after trying the weapons at the beginning in both versions, compressed and full(OG)

There were kids shows and there were kids watching - 20, 30, 40 years ago! We are all adults now, even the chars and the fans and the players .. there is nothing but nostalgia and fan fiction on display, but everyone from the chars to the audience grew out of the show decades ago. Chill!
We can all appreciate the fiasco of Percy Jackson: first adaptation had a trilogy of movies where the characters were all aged up to 25 - all of them! They drove cars, had jobs, talked man to man to their parents - some underage viewers were in uproar, mainly the 14 year old kids who were reading the books of Percy Kackson and imagined him and the rest of the characters to be their age.
Aging characters is the only way everybody boots adaptations up, whether we like it or not: Last of us show has a 23 yo petite girl playing Ellie - what are people yapping about here?
This is clearly a game made by adults by adults and it should show adult themes, because everyone is grown up and some are even too old to recreate most if not all the exciting scenes of the game. The game is nostalgia bait and it should feature the adult characters who have grown out of it, like literally everyone else did in the world, over the decades.
Even shows like Young Justice League and Batman Beyond have adult characters who had genuine relationships, jobs, cars - everything any adult person has to deal with - no more of the careless small minded perspsectives on life. Whatever the man children in this forum believe, like how they cannot let go of their little minds, it should not impact the game or the genuine adults in this forrum.

Honestly the saddest part about Mike Inel cancelling that Adventure Time game was that it played really fucking good. Like actually Kingdom Hearts 2 tier.

i was just disappointed with lack of nsfw i wasn't complaining about character designs or anything i was praising the story since it was funny too. why was i tagged exactly? Canto Forte
If you think this is illegal feel free to report it to the FBI page instead of arguing it here pretending you get punished if you spell "child" correctly, otherwise just enjoy the game.
Reading these last few pages got me sad again. I miss that game. I didn't even care about the porn it was one of the best combat systems for an indie game i've seen. Even if I were to ignore Mike caving to pressure, his talents as a 3D artists are amazing.

This is exactly how I always saw things of this nature. I grew up watching KND starting from around 10-12 when it came out on Cartoon Network, I enjoyed the characters, the jokes, the creative gadgets/weaponry and pure wackiness of it all. I felt really attached to it and they became more than just characters on a screen to me, they were like friends, and being around the age of puberty, the attachment naturally started developing passed friendship. Same goes with a lot of other shows around that time also.
I grew up, but the characters didn't (obviously because they don't exist)... life be hard sometimes
Anyway, I'm with you guys, I have absolutely zero issues as long as it isn't real, just like all the other fictional stuff that goes on in video games and other media (i.e murder, gore, brutality etc, and I see that as way worse stuff), which is really how it should be, to be fair. We live in a crazy world, huh?

By the way, I just tried out the compressed version and it still crashes for me every paragraph or so. Are there people seriously playing this game without this problem?

I've tried all the available links, the ones in the OP, the Itchio one and the compressed. The only one that worked for me was an older version of the game on Itchio, but I wanted to try the latest version. It must be a problem related to the latest version of the game, unless people are actually playing the latest version without any issue in which case I have no idea.

So, I don't know if this helps, but I did have that problem, but when I tried on another PC, it lets me play normally. Apparently, that's when the digital screen appears. It apparently can't process it and crashes. I hope someone or the developers come up with a solution.

Ohh, you mean the screen that shows the vertical dialogue from the characters? That would make sense considering I wasn't able to make it to those parts in the newest version. Well, I guess if one of us can let the dev(s) know about it then they may be able to do something.

Yeah, exactly. I guess some PCs don't support whatever they have when switching to that screen. Maybe trying the mobile version will help to you
