Are you talking about the music in the menu or all the music?I've come across this a few times when initially opening the game the music volume is at 100%. I'd love to know the reasoning behind that.
the Music was maxed out at 100 when I opened the game for the first time. I've seen a few games do that as well. not a big deal just curious if Dev's control that or not.Are you talking about the music in the menu or all the music?
I see, I never thought about changing it, but it will be done in the next update. The sound will be set to 80% by default when launching the game for the first time, but you’ll be able to adjust the volume as you like.the Music was maxed out at 100 when I opened the game for the first time. As I mentioned in my post on Patreon, I don’t want to include explicit sexual content in the base game because some people—especially from outside here—might not want a game with this content in their library, even if it's optional or can be disabled.Gotta say, I don't like the idea of the sex scenes being hidden behind a paid DLC. Some other VNs on Steam do have 18+ patches/DLC but those are usually free to download if you purchase the base game. I don't see any reason why the NSFW switch can't be included in the base game other than wanting to charge extra for the content that attracts most people to these kind of games.
Still, I do like the game so far so I will wishlist it but whether I actually buy it will depend on the price of the base game. I hope you're going to price it appropriately compared to other games that don't charge extra for the sex scenes.
Yes, the DLC is a one-time purchase just like the base game — there will never be any sort of season system. As long as the dlc stays as a 1 time purchase sounds good to me. I just hope your plan doesn't backfire and the base game loses the SFW tag like another game that tried to do it. But your way of doing it seems much better than said other game . Funny thing is when I first started to play these game I wasn't really looking to play NSFW VN's it just happened to be the easiest to find when i first got into this genre of games.
Okay, if that's what you're going to be pricing the game at, it seems reasonable. I personally doubt there are many people out there buying adult games that don't want to see the sex scenes but maybe I'm wrong. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯As I mentioned in my post on Patreon, I don’t want to include explicit sexual content in the base game because some people—especially from outside here—might not want a game with this content in their library, even if it's optional or can be disabled.
Also, on Steam, if a game contains explicit sexual content (even if it can be disabled or in the game folders), it is automatically categorized as "Adult Only Sexual Content" game on the store.
Secondly, there won’t be any price inflation (and after re-reading my post, I realize I didn’t phrase this clearly).
The price of the DLC will simply complete the full game price, not add on top of it.
For example, if I estimate the full value of the game at $12, then the base game will be $10 and the DLC will be $2.
There won’t be a situation where the base game is $12 plus an extra $2–3 for the DLC.
To sum it up, there’s no extra charge because the pricing formula will be as follows: (NSFW DLC price = full game price (SFW + NSFW) – SFW game price)
Of course 99% of the people here want to see the sex scenes, but my goal isn’t just to reach the AVN community — otherwise I would’ve released the game fully NSFW.Okay, if that's what you're going to be pricing the game at, it seems reasonable. tbh im in full support of this. When I started I never really wanted to play NSFW games when I got into AVN's just happens to be the most common type of game with Daz and Daz models appeal to me more than anime like models. When I first got into AVN's it's because I watched a few anime's talk about dating sims and I was like I haven't played 1 since newgrounds when I was in middle school or early high school. So when I tried to look some up all I could find was NSFW ones while nothing against anime art style infact in love but if it's gonna have sex scenes in it I 100% prefer Daz.Of course 99% of the people here want to see the sex scenes, but my goal isn’t just to reach the AVN community — otherwise I would’ve released the game fully NSFW.
And I know I’m taking a risk by doing this, but I’m sticking to the vision I’ve had from the very beginning: to release the game this way, which will also be its final form upon official release — a SFW game with optional NSFW bonus content.
Don't worry take your timeI actually hope this game doesn't leak right away. I'm behind enough as it is been trying to get around to playing a certain college game for like a month or 2 haha. Also man it doesn't seem like the dev cycle took that long I expected like 2 more months or something haha
Really good message, because I’m myself not fully satisfied with the thumbnail for the main game and the DLC either. And damn, it’s so hard to find a good thumbnail — I’ll try to rework it in the coming weeks.Nebula Dreams
I hope you don't take this the wrong way.
The thumbnails of each game on Steam are very important because that's what someone who doesn't know anything about the game will first see AND if they feel attracted to it, they'll click on it and then they'll see the game page with all the previews and the synopsis you wrote.
For example, when Steam recommends "similar games" to someone who plays a lot or buys visual novels, they will only see that thumbnail, so I would recommend that you take an afternoon in December weeks before release and change yours.
Why? Because it's pretty bad and doesn't make you want to click on it, you can only read the name of the game with those white and red letters that stand out, but the background is almost unrecognisable because it's so dark and you can barely see Mina there.
You should look for something that grabs your attention, the famous click-bait like many YouTube videos.
I'll give you some examples in the spoilers:
