My point is, if you can't do a big game and provide regular updates, do a small one. Two Lis instead of eight: the sweet girl next door the MC knows since kindergarten Vs the new mysterious and smoking hot dark gothic girl that just met, for example. Who will win MC's heart -and cock? Something like that, simple, modest. Less writing, less 3D model design, less branches to fit. Updates every two months, maintaining patrons engaged, making a name for themselves in this "industry" and, if things go as they should and cash start flowing, use the money for getting better resources, more PCs for rendering, hire someone to help with coding, things like that, and then you can add new characters, branches... or just finish this game and make a new, more ambitious one. Don't start big, and then, don't deliver.
I disagree. If it weren't for their huge ambitions, we wouldn't have what we have now.

It's good to have devs that push really hard on quality even if it's slow. We need that (as players) to push the overall avn quality upward (even if they fail at the end). Beside slop mid looking games are legions, does it really matter to have one less ?. Could they make a mid game with much more content? Probably but it would just be another mid avn and it wouldn't stand out like SH is. Let them make the game they want to make and being slow doesn’t mean they won't deliver. It's just gotta take time. You are free to not support it but saying they can't and they should not be allowed to is bullcrap. What more, they have never shown any signs of wanting to drop the game (or faltering in their commitment to it) or to be up to shady shenanigans even after the backlash of the last update. They always have been consistent, looking motivated and passionate about what they are doing and at the end of the day that all what matter and deserve to be respected.

8 to 21 has a huge margin of error. It means they have little idea what it actually may be. Could easily be less than 8k.
But hey, let's say it's actually 8k.

Okay, if I ever have an idea for a game or a business idea in general, remind me to ask you for a business plan, you seem to know some of this shit

Small edition:
I think you missed in your calculations the amount of funds from other platforms like itch
Despite of it I don't think this additional income makes the millionares
Apparently there are also a bunch of more taxes in Finland: employers pension insurance fee, employee's pension insurance fee, employee's unemployment insurance fee, the municipal tax (varies by municipality, ~9% average of the net income after other taxes are paid), the Yle tax and possibly the church tax in case they're members of some church.
Finally stumbled on the .

We can't really compare income after taxes as it's different in each country. And paying taxes grants you benefits.

They don't become rich with this game (yet), but they can live very decently from developping it. And they can have additional income (part time job or commissions)

lmao this whole tax and standard of living talk are about as accurate as fight predictions.
Let's not even get into that, there's what a legend devs who are taking home bank but still scammed their entire fanbase. Using all these pointless arguments as means to justify your expectations of the devs, criticize them or defend them are part of the same echo chamber.
Quoting wiki and cross referencing GDP and the average salary of countries doesn't mean anything.

It all boils down to whether or not you're cool with waiting and paying for whatever game you think is worth your time and money. I've seen way worse things than slow ass updates, things like devs on this site that claim to be a refugee of the Russo-ukraine war and that they had to hunt a pigeon for soup whilst trying to bring their PC parts elsewhere. Yes it was a real post and yes people believed it. Mods even took down comments calling out the lies.

You're exaggerating :HideThePain:
But if seriously, I was talking about the graphics and quantity of girls
Okay, lets say two-three hours of gameplay for about nine months to a year of waiting, if you play everything, even Lis that you aren't into, and adopt decisions that can bite you in the ass later, like fucking the girl in the strip-club, in order of seeing the scenes. Seriously, it's not much.

Three years of development so far, and the plot is barely developed, just two days in the game. If you are a fan of this game and like at least one of the Lis, is fucking frustrating. I would prefer a way less ambitious game: less girls and no animations, but frequent updates.

I'll summerise the story so far, mc shows up and fuckes the teachers sister, goes to a bar with a killer and fuckes a blond, then gets blown by his childhood friend in front of her sleeping brother. Then he follows a cat into a run down school.

my favourite one was Irphaeus posting pictures of a car accident from 4 years before he announced the delay lmao
