How bout less rewards and faster game development!
Because independent subreddit awards have exactly what effect on Oceans development? Might as well say, "let's have winter so Summer's gone will happen faster."

Dev just got his new dev tool. Next devlog we'll have some serious numbers for dev time: Wednesday week we'll find out where the games are sitting at, percentage completed etc.

Ducky , lately you've been like a cheerleader and defense attorney for Ocean on this forum .... we know you have your reasons but at the same time you started to sound like .........

Sure, and the post I replied sounded like? What the heck does the subreddit of AVN users have to do with Ocean's development? :coffee::whistle:

I mean, 100% confessed Katie simp here. I want the games to be made. But you haven't noticed the last several posts where I'm critical of Mila, and Ocean's ageism? That's pretty much anti simp, criticising things. :sneaky:

What if Summers Gone was just all the memories we made about defending Ocean, critiquing Ocean, hating Ocean, believing the game would never come out, theorizing who Summer is and what happened to her, and making fun of Nika lacking a working penis?
Dunno, I'm here only for the sake of the basketball story.

Umm... at the moment I've "only" played through S1 seven times. If I counting the previous versions too (Ch. 4; Ch. 4.5 beta; Ch. 4.5; Ch. 5 beta), the number is 60+...

Thanks for the share here.

I've found a few gems courtesy of these awards, so I am most interested in checking out AVNs that I have not tried yet or that were not far enough along for me to get immersed in when I did try them.

Some additional positive press shown on a different media is also good as the video of these awards will bring new people to SG and other quality AVNs, especially if they are not aware of/interested in sites like F95.

Cheers!! :coffee:

Jesus, Mary and Joseph...where do y'all find the time? And don't you get sick of it after playing the same content so many times?

Replaying from the start with each update, with/without mods and patches I'm barely over a dozen. It's not like the game features more than 2 paths currently, Bella and non-Bella. Unless you consider who you go to the gym with a "path".

Is there any other content locked behind a certain path that I'm missing here? If Bella you get the "Heist" and the "Desert Escapade" etc.. If not Bella you get stuff like the locker room scene with Kate, Miriam and Nora. Is there anything else that could justify multiple playthroughs/saves right now?

Mostly just details. I mean, you find out about Nia's connection to Summer if you go visit her. If you don't go on the heist you find out NIka was charged once, and (effectively) Nami's worried he'll get a criminal record hanging arounf Bella. You get different stats (don't even know if they'll be used) for going with different people at the gym. You get different scenes revealing characters suspiciously in the backround.

I haven't done a full playthrough since May. I made saves at every significant decision so I can reloadquickly if I want to check something out. I've probably played it (including old versions) 6-8 times myself. I'm not specifically counting. Some of those were because of broken saves.

Everyone sees different things though. As a kid I used to do speed runs of Tolkien. Spare time is ours to waste in the most relaxing way we know. Coffee? :coffee::whistle:

The first few (~10) playthroughs were during covid. I was sitting at home in a home office and there were a few days when I literally had nothing to do, but stare at my monitor and wait. I was bored, so I started searching aimlessly, and by pure chance I came across this title: Summer's Gone.

I knew nothing about it, as I had never played any AVN before. But since I had so much free time, I gave it a chance. I didn't regret it, and the more I played with it, the more I understood the story. I have a Victoria, a Bella, a Mila and a "All in one" playthroughs. I grew up reading a lot, there are countless books that I have reread several times over the years, so for me, there is no problem in replaying a linear story. Maybe I'm a little sentimental, but Summer's Gone is my first AVN, it's dear to me, so maybe that's why I'm more attached to this AVN.

Is there anything else that could justify multiple playthroughs/saves right now?
Have I ever claimed to be sane? :ROFLMAO:

I thought you had done more runs... out of the 8, half of them were for broken saves! :p
I've got a pretty decent memory (for some things at least), so I tnd not to replay it until a new release comes out. If I have a question, I usually remember roughly where in the game it is, and reload a sav, remind myself of the scene. The only reason I found all the different bits of lore is because of the steam achievements - if I didn't have those, I wouldn't have tried to see all the content, and just played what felt sense.

Season 2 I think will be different, because there will be way too many saves to keep organised simply. I guess we'll see how to navigate the story once Ch1 is released. With the branching, I'm guessing I'll play it quite a few more times just getting my head around the different paths. Even if I don't like Mila's changes, I'll still play her content, as Ocean loves putting path only information about NIka's past - like in S1, if Nika goes with Bella on the heist, you don't know he had a criminal charge at some point, skip Nia's visit, you don't know why she looks at you the way she does. Just unlocking all the renders will take more than 3 runs I'm sure.

For me, it's the same as listening to a favorite song or re-watching a favorite TV series. After I skimmed through and deleted twenty or thirty new titles after minutes of playing or forwarding them to the end in the same amount of time, due to their exceptional, phenomenal, unspeakable stupidity and got nothing from it except negative emotions and disappointment, and the mood for AVN still remains, the question arises - so what to play? And that's when the favorite five comes to the rescue where SG is the number 1.

Same. For me it's the vibe. The soundtrack and the moody atmosphere in the renders is calming af for me. I think I'm at my 5th playthrough now. Even though at this point i know in detail the stuff that happens, i still enjoy it. It's like that one movie that you don't get tired of no matter how many times you watch it. Shit if summer's gone was a interactive narrative game like Life is strange, I'd instabuy it and play it forever.
