It's unlikely if they can only release it on DLsite as the only way they could uncensor the DLsite version is via them releasing an patch for it which would be a lot of work for them to do. (Most Dev's don't for that reason I believe alongside not wanting to) So we'd have to rely on modders to make the uncensored asset or put them in if shared elsewhere.

Nah, wouldn`t be difficult. He first creates a uncensored version and then censores it. He probably keeps the original files around for tweaking.
The issue is that it isn`t allowed in japan to provide access to uncensored assets.
He already risked to get his ass banned with the 1.0.1 version. Thats why he quickly removed it from Itch.IO. and patched it on DLSite.
In addition, the assets must have baked in censor, so good luck trying to uncensor it. The times of simply using the uncensore plugin are over.

What I don't understand is why they don't just puts a censored version on DL site and then an uncensored elsewhere . Surely DL site only cares about what's on their site right ?

What part of "it`s forbidden by japanese law" is not understood?
If he lives in jp, he is not allowed to do that. If they find out, he pays a fine and/ or goes to jail.

Well yeah but article 175, which is the law you are referring to, only concerns distribution within japan. There's no legal requirement for content exported outside, that's why there actually are tons of uncensored japanese porn around.

Dude, you have to partner with a foreign COMPANY and give them rights to your assets for outside distribution. You can't do that easily as an individual creator, and not to mention hiring a good enough lawyer to make sure you're not getting fucked on the terms is an issue well. You can't just find some jackoff outside of Japan to hand your assets to and post your shit.

If the game is 3D and without prerendered scenes - it would be infinitely easier to uncensor btw.

There is already a "scene" for years that "cracks" the mosaic of reallife japanese porn using some kind of ai algorithms.
The results where mixed till now, but perhaps with ai becoming so whitespread, easy to use and more or less acceptable in quality, this may become good enough that someone can build a reliable uncensore or redrawer.

Uncensoring 3D with it might even be easier then reallife porn, as the animations are in most cases just multiple different looping clips cut together.

Nah, when it comes to 3D that plays the scene in real-time - it's usually an object placed upon existing models that twists image into mosaics. It's quite easy to remove it.
