He already gave in, he never intended a name change, he just added in the middle of the story cause people wanted it, which is worse imoz ehy not give them want they truly want, at the beginning, or don't have a name change at all.

When he said he would add the ability, I like many people probably assumed the beginning, but no, it happening later makes zero difference, it is still just VINCENT.

But yeah he already gave in to the people, just in a half-assed way that doesn't please me and probably won't please others that wanted this change, if he was going to give in to the people and make the change, why not just make it at the beginning like many people want. He should of not done it at all or got my hopes up when he said it was coming, then I wouldn't be bitching.

My memory is a bit blurry about it, but I don't think he did it because of complaints.
Though, if he really did, well, this is what happens when you start catering whiners in a thread, the more you give the more they demand, cruel reality.
That's why I prefer Devs' always to stick to their vision despite all the complaints and demands. (even if it means smth I don't like as well)

Same here I always think a dev should say screw the complaints and make the game they want. Unless of course it's something they actually agree with and just didn't think about the time. Tho that is usually more in line with feedback and not complaints.

Haven't got back to Mona yet. Just caught up to the end of Chapter 1 so in a bit I'll head into new territory.

I may be foggy too, but I don't remember the Dev saying he would change it because of complaints. I seem to remember when it first came out and people complained about not being able to name the MC, his response was to have patience. I took that to mean he had a plan. And it looks like this is the what he had planned.

Yes yes, now that you mention it - I think I remember something like this too at the early stages of development, good to know.

Yeah shouldn't of had patience and got my hopes ups, honestly he shouldn't of done it at all. Maybe the dev should of been more open of what to expect, maybe he should of just not done it all.

Either give in to what people want fully or not at all, their should be no half baked measures, so I will continue to comment and complain.

Why the hell was my post deleted? Everyone else is complaining about the game, why can't I? You don't just convert it to a kinetic novel with a completely boring story with barely any boom bam bam in the coochie woochie.

I too, had high hopes for this one. And I got blue balled.

Finished my playthrough now, and although there were some parts (perhaps too many parts) that I thought were a bit slow, I enjoyed it overall. The graphics look great, and there are some really nice women here that I hope we get to see plenty more of. The story definitely has me intrigued!

When I played the previous update, I did notice a fair few technical errors in the writing, with some Russian remaining in the dialogue and Laura's name being changed to "Lora" a few times, with one exception that I found (in the spoilers) these have been taken care of now. There are still a few typos here and there, and some funny little translation mishaps, but otherwise it's mostly fine in that sense now.

About translation errors or the use of some words - in my country many things are called differently, so due to the large amount of text I physically cannot memorize all the words I need to look up to make them fit the context. Anyway, I will change some phrases to the ones you showed me, thank you

I know, but like I said, he added it when people complained in the past. The dev already showed he has no spine, but for some reason will hold strong on not adding it to the beginning for some dumb reason. So whether people ignore me and hide my comments, whether my comments do nothing, which will happen, I will fill this thread with just complaints about the name change, he shouldn't of changed it at all, then I wouldn't even be here now.

It's not stupid at all. It fits the game perfectly. There's no reason at all for the dev to put in a name selection at the start of the game, because then you would have to change it to something else later on.

If you can't change the name, maybe add an ability to create an alias at the beginning(essentially a choose your name), so I would feel more involved till I get to the name change. I don't like or have any attachment to Vincent.

You realise you just said "If you can't change the name, add an ability to essentially choose your name", right?

This is just something you're going to have to live with. Your two options are:
1. Deal with it. If, as you say, you've played it. You can merrily go onwards now with whatever name you please.
2. Forget about it and go play one of the multitudinous games that allows you to pick your own name at the start.

I guess, to quote back at you, the dev doesn't have any attachment to you. There's no reason whatsoever for him to make this change that goes against the game's plot, just to appease you.

Yes give me an option for a temporary name, I don't want Vincent. Basically a temporary name, till the name change at least. I don't think its unreasonable, cause the one thing I want is this to be my story, which as of right now, it will never be that without any customation. So i will continue to gripe and moan, while I am forced to play as Vincent.

Like I said at least let me have a temp name, I go by multiple names in real life, so it would solve everything, even if I have to change the name later.

Also he already went against the plot. The name change was never planned. He told me, but people asking for changed it, so why can't he make this one little change, then I will never gripe in this thread again, until then, I'll be around.

Did he actually say to you it was never planned to be added? Way back in the early posts of the thread (page 2) he said:

Character name change will be available, but in later updates.

I'm not going to bother saying anything more about it, and you should consider doing the same. The dev has no reason to change what he's doing, so you're fighting a losing battle.
