I hear ya though, WIAB was one of my top faves for a long time (still is) but I agree with your words regarding the old look and characters. Everything sitll the same for me just...different (and much more polished looking now to tie in properly with SG).

Yeah...I don't think anyone can legitimitely argue that the new look isn't an improvement...however, whether that improvement is actually better or not to someone is highly subjective I'll admit.

I'm always more interested in the story and characters rather than the overall look (though will admit to liking Ocean's aesthetics from a personal perspective).

I played SG when 0.4.5 beta came out and I really liked it.

Therefore, I played WiAB 0.2 and I really disliked it. Still, I'm playing 0.3 from start and I still dislike it.

The biggest problem - in my opinion - is that William talks and acts like Nika, and Miru talks (same words and verbal expressions!!) and acts like Nami, but William & Miru are adults, and Nika & Nami are teenagers.

What's worse, I constantly have some sort of weird deja-vu feeling - could it be the music? the atmosphere? - I have the feeling that WiAB main characters are mimicking some SG main counterparts.

And with a reason: Ayua from SG MUST be William & Miru's daughter, and I can't help but think that Nika is William's son. Nami? she might be, too.

Yeah, the point mentioned in the spoiler ruined it for me. It's such an absurd about face. It almost feels like the issue is the complete lack of any set up. The game plays one way then BAM, the barn scenes happen and you're left going "wait what?"

Most of the characters already know about it, either were involved in equal or worst, otherwise either already exposed to the criminal aspects of life.

I mean that's great and all but the person playing doesn't know about it and the game doesn't really tell you, which is usually the sign there's a flaw in the plot. You're meant to show, not tell but in the instance here it seems to do neither and just assume you know.

Yeah I get people can like all that drama and if this was an RPG or game I could murder everyone off that can be fun for sure and the females were only there to fuck and walk away. In a game about family and romantic interests that will be bothering and hanging around MC all his life though, well it works a lot less for me if you can not trust anyone to have your back or even care about you except to destroy you or put one over on you unless you behave perfectly as they wish you to. It is not for nothing an old Chinese curse: may you live in interesting times.

It may sound interesting in a story where you can burn all bridges behind you and move on somewhere else without anyone alive after all the fires burnt down, less so if you have to keep living with those characters. However much of an ass MC might be himself I do start to feel sorry for him then instead of envy him

Edit: Also same as the person above me said even in an open relationship it does make quite a difference if your girlfriend out of naivety or revenge sleeps with your enemies or someone that has no connection to you or you are on friendly terms with. I know what would happen if I came home and someone found out I slept with that female colleagues she hates. It would not be healthy for me, open relationship or not.

This one has drastically changed since the last time I played it. In the last version I played (before the "rework") I really didn't like Miru and was fine letter her go, but now she's adorable and I wonder how it'll play out once the story progresses. The Katie/MC relationship seems odd though as they go from hate to love back to hate so quickly.

Overall I'm loving this rework, though the wait between each update could hamper things overall. Specially since they're working on another (good) VN at the same time.
