I haven't seen anyone comment, but this person who appears in the EP.9 intro is not the MC. Unless the MC took Derek to the hospital and stopped by the mansion to put on a jacket, the chances of this person being the MC are zero.
I assumed it was Ron.
But now I'm inclined to think that the person who enters the dinner is Quinn at all, given that she needs proof that Buddy and the others were involved in the crimes. And Jill is Lana's sister. She probably decided to ask Bella before she went to Jill.
Besides, Quinn often wears hoodies.

Sally was definitely the scout for Magnar's activities, that's why she was attending all the parties. Don't know what went south between her and Magnar but she will be the key to finding truth about Magnar.
100 % agree, she’s WAS in on it, but for some reason got cut out or left. I’m dying to know lol

Most of these girls have only become closer than casual acquaintances just recently, and their "friendship" isn't really closer than their individual relationship with the MC. The "Bella group" became a thing literally this episode. It can be awkward, sure, but i wouldn't be so hasty to declare that they'll all for sure snub the guy for someone they potentially barely know.
Bella group aka Maya help group, no one other than the 5 MGs, Derek and MC should be part of this. And MC should be kicked out if he cheats on any of MG. They bonded through tough times, Other girls should not be given entry to it just because they are with MC now.
This group (the 5 MG) is working towards being their found family, it'll survive whatever happens in the game even if/when Maya and Josy breakup. Whether or not MC is apart of that will depend on the choices made in each run.

Edit: Added (The 5 MG) for claification
"Bonded through tough times"?

Bella's and Jill's whole relation with Maya and Josy is that they have attended literally one DIK party where they chatted for a bit, and spent couple hours at Bella's house reading legal documents. That's the entire help they lent Maya. Sage has until just recently hated Jill with all her guts because she thought Jill was Tybalt's girl. Bella similarly had little contact with the members of this group (other than Jill) until just recently, she mostly kept to herself.

There's no "bonding through tough times" for those girls, you're buying wholesale DPC's bullshit if that's what you think.
The groundwork for the MG group technically starts in ep 6 when Josy invites Jill to study with her, Maya and the MC. Then in ep 7, Jill invites the study group plus Derek to her recital. Ep 8's recital "introduces" Bella to interacting with the group a bit more since they all sit together to watch Jill play and then greet her together outside after the concert (MC even has the internal monologue on the group here). Ep 9 is where the MG group really starts to form when Jill and Sage bond over their shared Tybalt hate before Sage, Josy, Maya, and Bella get closer over truth or drink with Jill joining in on the "Drink! Drink! Drink!" chant later on. In ep 10, they all get on the same page about Maya's situation and formulate the Thanksgiving plan so I guess you could call it Maya's group here because it's like Ocean's Eleven? So Maya's Seven officially becomes a group. Anyway, the "celebration" party at Bella's in ep 11 leads Sage to realize she needs friends like these people. Friends willing to do just about anything to help each other (to TuckeredOut's point on found family). The "panty party" at Bella's is girl's night "gone wild" that possibly gets interrupted by the MC. Now, to solidify this group of friends, they're going to bond over Derek's chopped off finger crisis and whatever is in Bella's unlocked room. But I wouldn't say the group just became a thing this episode since it's been a slow build up of the group.

One can argue that Josy is more of the denominator of the group instead of the MC. She's with Maya. She becomes friends with Jill, her classmate. She joins the HOTs and slowly becomes friends with Sage. Jill introduced Josy to Bella on her first day of classes at B&R (admittedly this one is a stretch in favor of Josy but Jill and Bella are like a package deal here for the group).

You can also argue Sage is the glue of the MG group. She's the HOTs president and wants to be friends and help Maya and Josy. She's being thesis mentored by Bella and is the one that makes Bella play truth or drink. Then Sage and Jill become fast friends because Tybalt hate forms an unbreakable bond. Plus, Sage is the one that suggests hanging out more at Bella's with the group.

It's actually done in a somewhat clever way. I mean things need to happen regardless of what pth you're on. That is to say, you're going to thanksgiving regardless of if you were with Jill, Bella, Sage or the Thruple.

At least having them all friends sorta negates the need for the suspension of disbelief and the MC can now have a logical reason for things.
