Ren'Py - Completed - Midnight Paradise [v1.0f Extra] [Lewdlab]

From the moment I have seen the characters I liked them. Except the first version of the younger sister. She was terrible, but Lewdlab changed her for Rudy who looks amazing. But I realised I just liked their appearance. This game would be amazing if it didn't lose focus on the Love Interests, who should have been way more involved in the main story. I'll elaborate on my frustration a bit, because I really like the game and want it to be better.

This my opinion, I know some people will disagree, because we all have different tastes. There are a few reasons I feel the way I feel about this game's characters...

We don't have enough time and development for the characters, because there is too many of them. There should have been like a half of them.
I would completely take out half of the cast and leave them for another game. Now all of the characters suffer because their spotlight is too sporadic. They have some scenes, then vanish completely and suddenly resurface for a few scenes to go away again. And the scenes overall are way too disjointed.

The story is all over the place and the worst thing about it is, that it doesn't really involve the love interests. The story is basically worthless without the LI involvement in a porn VN.

I really like how they look. They are probably the best looking women in all VNs, but I can't get attached to them because before I start to like them, they disappear from the story. The pacing is broken and I still have a feeling that almost nothing has happened.

Another problem is, that there is not much intimacy between MC and the women, not even hugging. There is too many renders of characters talking, but intimate or sexual stuff 1 or 2 poses with few angles and that's it. BJ scenes with Isabella and Joyce in partucular. The scenes don't even have foreplay. They just suck dick, literally. After so much scenes of them talking, they just go straight at it. The scene seems too short then and especially without passion. If I compare Joyce's BJ scene and Linda's from Milfy City, there is no contest. I might like Joyce's appearance more than Linda's, but Linda's scene just did the job as a fap material much better, because there was actual foreplay and it was much more organic. If there was more fondling, caressing, playing around, kissing, it would give the character's intimate relationship much more believability and passion.

This is a 5/5 game. Renders, animations, gameplay, story, UI, all top-notch, very few on this site compare. I'm talking top 5, easily. Tons of content already. I do recommend a walkthrough mod, as clicking into every single possible room in every single part of the day, just to see if there is a scene there, will probably get boring pretty quick, especially as more and more places unlock. While the story does point you in the right direction sometimes, there is no reminder system, like a phone with quest lines or something. Probably the only thing to easily improve on this game in its current state.

Also, the only reason why the current average review score is lower than a perfect 5 is just that this game has a lot of build-up, particularly with the main characters. There's the typical progression of scenes(help with dishes, help with yoga, help with yoga but with your shirt off, help with yoga but with your shirt off and a more sexual position, etc etc), but admittedly, maybe more than your average game.

You currently can't have sex with every single person and with games like this, that have Sting levels of tantric build-up, you will bore the crowd who grew up with free and instantaneous internet porn, who need screaming BDSM double penetration anal scenes to feel anything in their death grip addled jimmies. Honestly, if you didn't want a story and/or build-up, not sure why you're playing a VN in the first place.

Unfortunately, the weakness of the story and the lack of progression between the main character and the side characters overshadow the graphics of the game. It could be a much better game if it had a better story and faster developing character relationships. For these reasons, you start not to enjoy the story because you have a constant expectation after a while, and you want the events between the characters to develop quickly. Even if the story is not the main factor, I can say that the biggest deficiency I see about the game is the slowly developing character relationships. Apart from that, the visual quality and animations are definitely very successful.

This game is excellent. It's just like DoD in terms of mechanics only with better graphics and writing.

Yes, it takes a little while to develop, but the time is well worth it. The renders are spectacular and the situations are extremely arousing.

So i started playing this, my first thoughts were ''ok renders are quite impressive, characters looks good, hmm plot is also good, Ruby is cute a.f, i think i'm going to give this game 5 starts''

Then i kept playing a bit more, a little more, more... i become wondering ''ok how long should i keep grinding to see something actually(!) happening'' and decided to use a mod just to unlock gallery (which usually i don't do this before finishing the game, i mod after playing so i can see what i missed) but thanks cthulhu this time i did it before.

Man, blueballs all over! Its just 1-2 actual sex scene and thats it, the rest is simply just grinding, rubbing, groping etc... Seriously, i'm so frikin glad i stopped playing before its too late so i didn't get too much frustrated.

Don't get me wrong, its still worth at least 3-4 starts just because of renders, but i'm giving 1 star to protest this kind of games.

Sorry dev, you are absolutely very talented, and i'm %100 sure there are ppl who loves getting blueballed or similar but, its just....... it had so much potential yet it didn't use any.

Imagine you really like a game, feel attracted to a certain character (for me its Ruby) and you keep playing the game just because you wanna see something with that character, then you end up with a huge nothing.

This feeling sucks...

I'm surprised the game is rated so poorly. For me, it is one of the best games available here on f95zone. Really!

Disadvantage - for such a big game there is definitely no sex scenes. One sex in the last update is definitely not enough. The erotic threads with the family develop a bit too slowly. These disadvantages do not detract from the great work of the developer and the final product. Keep it up!

This is a 5 stars game: 4 for the game and a 5th for the excellent renders. I loved the female characters: both very sexy and hold enough character to be distinguishable from each other. They have their own motives, will and most of their actions are consistent with their character.

The story as of version 0.12 is OK, nothing to write home about. A teenage boy comes back home and corrupts his (incredibly hot) sisters and mother. There's supposed to be something about rivalry between you and your twin brother which drives you to start distributing drugs or whatever and some mysterious female ninja but I didn't pay much attention to it. The game very gradually builds the sexual tension between the protagonist and the ladies of the house so sex, when it finally comes, is very satisfying. Coupled with kickass graphics turn this into a really hot experience.

Some gripes: I really don't mind the MC sneaking into his mom/sister's room at night and sexually abusing them. In fact, I find it very hot. However, his "daylight" character is very thoughtful and gentle towards them so it's a little hypocrisy on his part. Rape them at night, console them by day. I would probably prefer him being a 100% bastard.

The other gripe is the "trap" many VN developers fall into, maybe by attempting to borrow from Summertime Saga: pretending to be a sandbox game. I really enjoyed Midnight Paradise but it offers you very very little choices to make. Hence, there is no actual need for a map, locations, hints or tips. You don't really need a HUD, actually. For example: your HUD has a money counter but you can't control how you earn or spend it so why do you need it in the first place? My advise to the developers would be to rid of all the "game" elements and streamline the experience into what it really is: a hot Virtual Novel with amazing graphics.

I have heard of slow burners in these visual novels but this game has been in development a few years now & has a grand total of 1 sex scene, seriously 1.?Considering this is the same developer of Dreams Of Desire (One of the best games on this site) this outing is an epic let down.

I would like to give the game a larger score because the girls are hot, i like the developer's previous work well enough, and the game does have ambition. But the pacing is too slow and at this point just feels dragged out for little reason other to drag it out. They're doing a slow build with the main character's relationships, but none of the relationships are all that interesting so you just get a lot of uninteresting filler scenes of little substance that offer some teasing of varying hotness. That so much time, and effort has gone into the build up is worthy of commendation, but there's little to show for it.

Another reason for the low score is the main character. He's a silver spoon dickhead, and fucking no one calls him out for it asides from his rival who everyone treats as a creepy weirdo. i also actively dislike what happens with the youngest daughter, where she becomes submissive to justify why she still gives the main character the time of day despite him treating her like shit.

At one point it may become a good game but it's just not fun to play right now. Too much buildup with no payoff and a horribly unlikeable character who learns no lessons and suffers no consequences .

Please note that this rating is HIGHLY subjective. This is entirely about me and one big beef I have with this game, but I think there will be plenty of people that will agree with me and might appreciate the heads up.

On a pure render/technical quality and hotness of females level, this game deserves at least one more star, maybe even 1 1/2. Not a perfect 5, as there are a few clunky details, but those are small fry.

So why do I rate it down and go through the effort to add one more review to the scores already there?

The MC. That insufferable douchebag of a waste of space and oxygen. He is an entitled prick of a rapist (see daughter of his prof he date raped and then wondered why that prof wanted him kicked out) who thinks he is very smart (but isn't as he constantly gets into deep trouble for antagonising people that can fuck him up).. and you know what, I stop here, as I could go on for the next 30 minutes and bore everybody to death.

I played a lot of similar games and many if not most MCs are dull, groan inducing or even sometimes reprehensible. I have soldiered on still.

Rarely though had I such a deep aversion against one as to have to stop playing again and again because I much rather would bash the protagonists head in than to give him (and thus myself as a player) any satisfaction in getting what he wants.

I do not know if it was a really conscious decision to make him thus, or this is some (very) misguided idea of what is "cool", but I find it jarring in the extreme. In any case I find it highly dubious.

So there we are. EXTREME Trigger warning to people who have an allergy to assholes, as you will have to play a top five contender here.

This game is ofter criticized for the early updates, the lack of sex so far, and not being as quick as his previous work "Dreams of Desire".

Since the new year however the dev has been doing monthly updates and won back the trust of his fanbase. There has been "realistic" progression in trying to sleep with the various members in the house, and the art/animation are in the triple AAA bracket of quality on this website.

The story is developing to something special, and when this game is finally done the arc of corrupting and seducing the family members, I believe will make this one of, if not thee best "man of the house" style games on this website.

But thats just me.

Edit: Lowered to 2/5. The writing is cringy, the way the characters act often makes no sense, and there hasn't been worthwhile content added in ages. It is essentially a hollow shell. While pretty to look at, there just isn't anything under the surface.

Original Review: This game has beautiful graphics and animations. The characters and story are alright, though the story often doesn’t always make much logical sense and the characters could use more depth and personality to them. Overall a pretty solid game, but not one of the best out there. Though the story isn’t the most captivating, it is still interesting enough to keep me trudging through it. I think this could end up being a 4/5 star game if LewdLab keeps releasing strong updates.

Edit: The updates have been doing a good job of progressing the story and growing the characters. There are also several choices that have been added to the gamepay that change the direction of the story, and as a result I find myself changing my original 3/5 to a 4.5/5. A 'perfect' score is very achievable as long as the developer keeps improving and consitantly releaseing better and better content!

Alright, let's get right down to it because there's a lot to unpack. Seeing as I haven't really played this game much since it debuted I recently started this game from beginning and now I'm all caught up.

Right off the back the MC is an asshole. He's a spoiled, rich, douchy, entitled, arrogant prick. He's the kind of guy you'd most likely punch in the face if I were ever to cross paths with him in real life. More on him later though. Right out the gate he's deep in some sluts pussy in a bathroom, which is ironic because that's the ONLY pussy he's gotten up until this point. But after this scene we learned about him and his lifestyle, which features well.. sex and drug use, you know, the typical college stuff. But the fortunate son his now kicked out of school because of his recklessness and now has to swallow his pride and move back in with his family.

At home we instantly learn that his father is an overbearing, suffocating tool(Who's obviously hiding something), which might explain where MC got his personality from but more on that later. We're next introduced to the lady of the house, the Queen, the Milf, the Goddess, the sexy, flawless Joyce. Lewdlab has always been top notch by the way when it comes to milfs. But back to Joyce though, you get the sense of guilt on her behalf maybe because the fact when MC left home those two years he never really kept in touch, like at all. But anyway, MC gives Joyce a compliment which sort of set things in motion between the two and also reveals the crack Joyce's marriage.

Before I go any further I just wanna point out there's no moral resistance whatsoever when it came to MC and him flirting with his family. I just found that somewhat unusual that in an incest game the MC just starts perving on his Mom and siblings with no filters. Usually there's a typical tug of war trope in incest games whereas the MC is an internal battle of morality vs immorality. You know the "This is wrong, she's my sister" or "She's my Mom, this can't happen" kind of thing but MC just goes from 0 to 100 with the creeping, flirty comments, fantasizing etc. Incest is still a very taboo thing so it was weird to see how nonchalant MC behavior was.

He has two extremely smoking hot sisters in Isabel and Ruby both are well put together characters, both have great depth and their own unique identities. And then there's Logan, the kiss ass daddy's boy who gives me this creepy, eerie vibe(He's hiding something as well). The story is good, MC basically just wants to get his life back together and prove to his father that he's not a disappointment, which is totally relatable, all while catching up on all the time he's missed out on with the ladies in his life.

Overall I like this game and may learn to love it, but certain things are bothering me like MC's treatment towards Ruby. They were really close, they were like best friends, they hung out, partied and all of a sudden he ups and leaves for college and never even attempts to make contact with her during his two year absence? Like what the fuck is that? He didn't even wish her a happy 18th birthday but comes home and wonders why she's being cold to him? Is this guy seriously this much of a dunce? Now there's like this weird submissive thing between the two, which I just thought it was random and distasteful. Ruby to me just wants to be loved and is acting out because of him in the first place so I'd rather not see her as submissive toy but instead in a relationship. I'm kinda over playing MC's that are portrayed as stupid, it's tired and old. Hopefully, there's some kind of evolution or transformation happens within him before this game wraps up. I hope he grows up or matures some at least.

I give it a 3.5 of 5. I'm not gonna circle jerk this game and bash it because the Devs deserve the benefit of doubt, and aside from the blueballing and other cons that can be corrected, this game is still pretty good. People were expecting another DOD, which isn't really fair because they're totally different and each have their own identities.

I guess I'm not surprised by what the creator does anymore, his heart obviously isn't in this project anymore and it shows. You make your fans wait for damn near a year and a half, while putting out a mediocre remaster version of nostalgia that simply fail flat. You finally put out an update and amount of content is laughable, make matter worse you decide to pull the oldest trick in the book as far as porn games goes and that's add a random rape scene to a fan favorite, shoddy writing at it's finest and I won't be touching any other projects from this in the near future.

I am giving this Game 5 stars for the renders alone. They are works of art.
As a bonus if you happen to have a foot fetish or a love of pretty feet...this game is a must.
The story line is average, but does an excellent job of bringing all the characters together and giving the game a plausible environment.
The hint system really helps you keep on task and follow the paths in a logical manner, however the walk-though is recommended.

The game has great picture renders and beautiful models, but there's barely any animations and the sex scenes are non existent. The whole game feels like a big tease. The small amount of animations that were included were actually pretty darn good, so it's surprising that he did not use more animations for actual sex scenes. Quite unfortunate, had potential.

A game with so much potential ! a game with stunning render ! a game with beautifull models ! i'll give it a 5 stars but just as an erotic game.... I like it slow but that one push it too far. Please give us some real content !

The rendering is top quality but the constantly evolving formats of the HUD and at times relatively scant content on updates (largely the jumps in timeline without explanation or backstory) is what holds this back from being 5 stars in my opinion.
