I tried saving those files under the game/saves folder but it didn’t work? What am I missing?

At first the AppData directory is a hidden directory, you most unhidden it first!
You most put the save files in c:\\Users\Yourname\AppData\Roaming\Re nPy\MidnightParadise_Lewdlab\

I just found this game for the 1st time after the latest update and wow the animations are incredible! how long between updates usually ?

I just finished the game. I didn't play 0.3 and 0.4 to get some stacked content. Isabel and mom are just fucking fire. Thighjob with Isabel and night scene with mom melted me. I keep seeing people complaining about story but I pretty enjoyed it. Storywise, I normally only care about MC's relations in these type of games but I am genuinely interest in what comes next with story.
Asian chick in night club said things have been changed in the MC's home and brother started to talk about new bio-engineering company, also MC mentioned that how his brother is an arrogant genius. I don't know if I am fetching too far but it got me thinking; what if brother is the source for drug to get money for his future company and the reason home changed he has been using his family as test subjects. This explain sexual tension in the house. They have been drugged for months.
Also Thorne said this drug is game changer and everyone trying to find one but it is pretty expensive. What if order or order remnants from DoD are trying re-build themselves. This also explain the asian chick weird conversation with Connor; something like time is not right etc. Very sketchy and mysterious. Also, I like Thorne character I hope there won't be a some evil plot twist about him in the future.
Like said I pretty enjoy the game and looking forward to play next updates.
A question tho: Are extra scenes canon or just patreon reward for some spicy content?

While many people criticize the game, I really think that it is a good one. Story telling is really good. It is not flawless, but dramatic and adventurous. Not boring at all. The story is told as a linked stream of events, not just sex ones.
Sex scenes are lacking for now but v0.5 has set a solid foundation for very interesting upcoming events in the next updates. I believe that it can be compensated with more extreme sex events in the next updates
If you pay more attention to differences and conflicts between members in MC family, you may think of some possible scenarios
+ The landlady/mother's sexual desire are strong because of the lack of interest by her husband/landlord. But she has no outside relationship yet. As a mother, she can not suddenly become a slut. I want to see the incremental development of her emotions. I think that there will be multiple harem ending with the landlady/mother.
+ The possible connection between Logan, the younger aggressive brother, his bio-engineering company and the magical sex drug, Halo. He has no girl friend and sex affair. He has never intended to fall in love. How he can test the pill is still the question. Also, he seems to be envious and aggressive and lack of social skills. If he involves in incestuous relationship, he will never stop and doesn't care about the consequences. Who is/are his target is still a question. However I think that he is building an aggressive Oedipus complex. He can work for his father for now but I think he can become his father's rival at some points of time. I hope that dev can show his psychological development via sex parties/orgies with older women. It would be very interesting if our dev allows the landlord/father to discover that his son has strong interest in breeding with older women that look like his mother. He isn't interested in young girls. His lack of social skills makes him hard to build normal sex relationship other women. Impregnation, orgy may be involved. Personally, I find it very interesting if Logan is grown into a MILF breeder in the next updates.
+ Our MC is growing up from a naive rich kid who doesn't know to do anything to a real man. In v0.5, he is forced to earn money to pay the rent by the landlord/father. In the next event, when the sister and the mother can be put into unexpected situations (e.x forced sex activities or even incestuous ones), he can act as a protector, saver. Ability to earn money is a very important detail that can lead to harem endings. If our MC loves, wants to live and have babies with any girl/woman, he needs to have enough money. More importantly, he can earn it. But what happens if the aggressive Logan impregnated one of our MC's lovers? Any abort involved? That would be very interesting answers.
It is time to speculate on what happens next.

I pretty much agree with you. About Logan tho, he also said he is observing "things" and Isabel saw someone at the window while masturbating. Was he observing to drug effects? There is definitely something sketchy going on with him.
Also, father is keep saying "he won't be with them forever" and pushing Connor for more responsibility. Maybe foreshadowing death or disappearance. Maybe father knows about Logan but things get out of control and he is pushing Connor to take the lead in case if something bad happen to father and Logan.
I never thought talking about story for sex game btw
I want to see juicy action like everyone else but I am okay with the story phasing and progression as it is and love it to be honest.

Problem is the characters are plastic and suck, you don't feel a connection to them. No amount of plotting can save this thing for new players who have to endure 5 hours of grindfest before the story emerges.
It's obvious the dev's holding out on the story so he can reveal some convoluted twist, which we'll see coming miles away.
I hope he uses Logan well, perhaps as a competitor. But LewdLab's not bold enough, he's going to make the choice that will prevent him from losing patrons. Thus most likely Logan turns out gay.
Well, I felt the connection with the family and I don't get the feeling that they are plastic. I know, different colors different tastes but are you sure that you played the game or just looked at the CGs and just made your mind about updates?

This isn't a problem for some. I view this as a more traditional porn game and not as adult literature. Emphasis goes to graphics and atmosphere through visuals and not the intricate level of storytelling and dialgues between characters. Not every game strives to achieve artistic levels and is content with entertainment through lewds. Porn level.
More like 30 minutes of casual stroll. I know that this freeroam-ish framework triggers zealous aversion in some but lets cut back witht the ludicrous level of exaggeration please. I'm totally fine that you don't like it, i do, but lets remain reasonable shall we.

Clearly works for the 2600 patrons who contribute about 26000 usd a month to him.
My point was that it's pointless to expect anything exciting storywise or gameplay wise from this dev. He's going to pick the safest option that will keep his existing patrons, there's no vision here. Expect a lot more night rape.
In DOD the characters also felt empty, during the beginning of the game, it was until the advanced updates began to have a better development of the character, I remember that the first character I found interesting was the aunt (who flirted too much with the MC, as hinting that he wanted something), then it was Alice (who showed up as a cliché character of a younger loving sister, but then we know how it ended) and finally it was tracy (Another cliché character of an abusive older sister), the only character that didn't Evolution in that game was the mother, who only served as a sex symbol, from the beginning to the end.
Pd: yes, I also think that Logan is gay, he just can't create something more interesting, because if he has interactions with the other girls, those 2600 patreons, can make a tantrum and cry, apart I asked the developer if Logan would be included with the girls and their response was "he don't have those interests," which can be understood by two things: 1. He doesn't like women or 2. He doesn't like incest.

I always wondered why that appears so often. I mean is it a fetish of so many Devs? Is it just blind following of something of a tradition of porn games? Is it an odd way to introduce something lewd before the real deal kicks in? Never heard a dev explaining the reason behind that before. I'm kinda curious.

Guessing most devs copy their scenarios from regular b grade porn. Night rape scenes have been common since the 80s.
Though you'll find them in modern era porn too, they have some level of implied consent. Such as a different camera angle showing the victim enjoying the action.
That's probably it too.
