Pretty obvious this creator is a failure, regardless if people consider him a scammer or not, he is a confirmed failure as a creator, money making aside.
i hope the developer is doing whatever he wants, and still plans to update the game as and when he likes

For the record, if you search this thread and DoD thread for this Dev's posts, he ADMITS sex is the endgame. So this should not be a surprise.
He doesn't WANT to do more than a scene or two for each girl post-vaginal-sex, because it's not what he wants to do.
Not defending it, but he has said as much in one of these threads. Embrace it, and get over it.

Dev was doing a update per month closing out 2020 and it was a great time to be a fan of this game.
One update in 2021 and horrible communication has turned everyone against him.

Nobody will ever truly know what’s happening in the background but there are many problems with this devs communication and inconsistency. There are extended periods of darkness without prior notification, the game is slow slow burn (repetitive handjobs,thigh jobs, random off characters are slow burn too), lack of preview images, when the dev decides to communicate it’s full of excuses and over explanation. I find that consistent preview images and honest communication about leave and breaks build trust and allow supporters to decide when or not they want to support. Consistent preview images and story snippets show progression.I'm new on this thread and in this game, but this smells and feels pretty much like ICSTOR's game/thread, hope that I'm wrong.

Long story short: the dev got burnt out while doing monthly releases to this last year so he wanted to take a "creative break" and decided to make a retouched version of his previous game with adding 60fps animations to it and such. "He thought" it would just be a short side project for couple months. At the time he made the latest update for this game in April he was already supposed to be finished with that "side project". He started that in December 2020, and he still ain't done with it, allegedly he also got burnt out while making that retouched version of his old game. Many believe it's just another ICSTOR kind of money scam, because he has been really silent for a long period now.

His last game was dreams of desire, right? Honestly Midnight Paraside is so much better. I think he should focus on 60fps and etc on MP instead... I can't say it's a ICSTOR situation cause ICSTER been doing this shit for years, but... we never know. It's a shame tho. MP was really good.

JUST SAYN
Before starting my block of letters I have to say I don't pay anything to anyone because I don't have money to spare. So, I don't care when a game get updated or don't give a single fuck about people wallets.
I was curious to see if something up after left thread pretty long ago and I just saw Onhold tag. As a person who closely watched this thread very closely even at the beginning, I might be wrong on this one but, I believe dev couldn't able do many thing he wanted to do with Midnight Paradise. Let me explain:
First redflag was Unity-Renpy problem probably many of you know. I think dev wanted to much more interactive game with lot of cutscene-esque visuals. But after unfortunate events he got stuck with Renpy engine.
Second redflag was, in my opinion, story. My theory based on previous dev posts but I think this game story was going to be heavy sex drug usage, full of devious content and maybe blackmailling if you look at the early story but patreon rules got into way. I believe while we in update 2 or 3 people warned dev about it.
When you think about it MC was walking fuck-machine and pretty okay with drugs, drugged people and suddenly he became a person of class and hardworker, plus very shady, genius twinbrother. After that I kept see in his dev posts about how he changed story everytime and how game mood became vanilla-esque.
Why I am thinking like this because even tho MC is in shagging phase with main girls but non of them have a proper reason to get in a relationship with MC.
-Older sister was heartbroken from abusive relationship with her ex(which another drug related stuff never explored) and found peace with MC. -Lets say this is possible one-
-Young sister motivations just mystery. If you catch couple of line here and there she might has brother complex out of nowhere with later updates.
-Mother, Joyce motivations just non-exists. What? She is ready to fuck his son because her husband didn't have sex with her in last couple of months?
-Mafia chick another non-exists one.
-Maid somehow obsessive with MC but somehow didn't feel anything or didn't do anything with twin brother while MC absent for 2 years.
-Teacher turned out to be in sub-dom out of nowhere.
In a slowburner game like this one, you would expect atleast semi-decent motivations and purposes from character stories.
Again, in my opinion, these things can be easly fix with drug usage, devious content and maybe blackmailling. But changing to story mid game made relationship stories broken. Non of the characters have purpose included MC. Almost 2 years passed in game/story but a person like MC didn't get any pussy in all these time just absurd, he didn't even use a single sex drug too which is most two unbelievable things in this game. I am blaming more patreon for this one tho. At the end dev also couldn't able to tell to story he wanted.
Somethings might have happened outside of dev reach but I wish after he saw these problems, he took an early break from MP and reconstructed everything from zero.
It wouldn't surprise me if he decided to end the game with couple of updates and move on to new game after "legit" one or two years break.

I could see that being the case I mean it would suck to have to work on a game that you wanted to be different it would kill all the passion for it. That is probably why he went to work on a game he had a lot of love for.

You are correct in that the game was not meant, originally, to be a 'family' affair, but Dr. Sin decided to bow to his Patron's pressure and make it that way.
As far as the fuck-fest thing, no. He has previously stated (in either this or the DoD thread) sex is an endgame for him, and he doesn't believe in extending those relationships (look for his posts in these threads). It's what he wants, and he's the dev, so that's what you'll get. Be prepared to be disappointed if you think you're getting more from ANY game from Dr. Sin.
I am very well aware of this. My complaints none of the characters have any reason/purpose/motivation to do anything with MC which you wouldn't think happen in a slowburn game. These things should have been established by now. But things just happened out of blue for many characters, especially last couple of updates. Which is why I believe he had to change story mid/early game for the reasons I explained.
As a person who loves his works, I think he should take a long, legit break after DoD steam release. Or I agree with you, we may not able to see any other game from him.

Everything is easier when the supernatural is involved with a story because you can reason away the logical steps in starting a taboo relationship. There's a reason why most of the games here have some mind-bending gimmick of some kind in them. It allows you to just hand wave the hard part of story progression.
