I don't get why everyone is wanting the abandoned tag. If you want it to fail so bad why not unwatch the thread and not worry about the progress of the game instead of just complaining?
First of all, at this point there is no progress. Everything points towards the dev just scamming his patreons for as long as possible. I'd love to be proven wrong here, but looking at the devs history (e.g. the DOD "remaster" etc.) I don't think so and I'd be very surprised if this thread ever gets updated and if it does, it will be an insanely small update.

Second, most people probably don't want it to fail as they liked the game, but it has already failed. If the dev would keep releasing updates, that would be great, but its just not happening. But even knowing that, the tiny bit of hope that there could ever be a continuation of the story keeps me from unwatching it.

Lastly, if you see a wrong in the world (e.g. in this case someone scamming his gullible supporters), wouldn't you want to change that. Yes this is a pirate forum, but I'd bet that a lot of his patreons saw this game on sites like this one and there are probably still a few people who see it here and then subscribe to his patreon. You never know, but I like to think that the abandoned tag will at least prevent some people from wasting their money on this scammer.

I actually agree with your points here.

However, like yourself and myself, there are people out there who have the thread on watch in the hope that news of an update will drop. But, when we come here, we find someone (you) complaining about the lack of an Abandoned tag. Something like that tends to frustrate people, who are more likely to take out that frustration on you rather than the developer.

Peace!

Yeah game is over 1 year without the update, it's pretty obvious what happens now. Much bigger games don't have hiatus this long. Slap it with a tag.

It only really matters when we Abandon this. The Abandoned tag here is meaningless - unless the paying subs abandon also. No sign of anyone abandoning anything here - my faith in humanity is ...unchanged.

To be honest, he hasn't posted anything even on discord since february. Only his mod reply to people with only excuses, nothing else. His last message was sent in the exact same day of the last status update on Patreon.

Now, just take a look at Come Inside. Dev hasn't posted anything on Patreon except for monthly wallpapers (he post something at least), but on discord he claim that he is working on the game. So, what's the difference between them?

+7 months i would say. The very first time i've seen the Abandoned prefix set due to lack of update with active patreon was actually Milfy City and it was given after 2 years. My understanding is that this came down to around one and a half year but the actual time limit here isn't set in stone. Heavy Five was set to Abandoned after around 1.5 years.

I don't think this will be set to Abandoned after "just" 1 year. If yes, that would be new.

He's pulling the ICSTOR once again, waiting until the thread gets abandoned tag before posting anything just to "prove" that he "doesn't care" about this site or opinions of pirates. Desperate measures.
Posting update but no release. Whats the point. He is a scammer

Only in steam he already made a lot of cash.
And why shouldn't he? That game is completed. That was a popular game, so why not make money off it? It has nothing to do with what is happening (or not happening) with this game.

Let the people who still subscribe on Patreon take care of this. If they want to keep paying him for nothing, that's their problem.

The only effect we can have here on F95 is to discourage people from downloading the game, which could help deter people from becoming new Patrons.

Personally, I don't care. I used to be a Patron, but unsubscribed long ago due to his continually reworking the game. If he ever decides to provide a new release, I will take a look at it [that's why I still follow this thread], but he will never get another nickel from me.

Yes, that's the way I see it too. There has been more than enough commentary available and people can and should take care of their own money. Presumably they're adults and can decide how to spend/waste it without a nanny. What the Hell, people waste more than that on their daily coffees at Starbucks. lol. I was a patron of various devs who started out strong and then fizzled or worse, lied. Once the trust is lost I never come back no matter what they do with the game afterwards, because I simply can't have the confidence in their continuing to do the work until the job is done. I'm not anyone's babysitter though, so people can download and pay for whatever they like. Or not. Their choice.

Well now, haven't seen you for a long while Walter Victor  Observing Sin's hard work? Swell, isn't it. Yes, some people are more upset about it than others but that's just the way things go. Am probably gonna be fuming a bit when/if an update comes and it will all be texting :cautious:

Yeah some mods here are clearly simping and white knighting for Scamlab clearly just look here i reported the thread by saying it's been 3 months with no activity or reports from the dev here's the response i got.
So these mods are clearly simping or maybe they just don't know they're own site rules which clearly say "Abandoned: The game has been abandoned (confirmed by the dev) or the developer hasn't posted anything related to the game for at least 3 months" right here in the site rules https://thef95zone.info/threads/game-uploading-rules-2019-06-25.524/
Probably knowing he's gonna post this week gotta help they're friend Scamlab and not put the abandoned tag even though the rules say they should.
You're seeing how well this guy knows the game.

His last post on DISCORD, which included info about this game (he talked about not adding a new model and wanting to finish the game before he dies, there's a pic of it a few posts back), was February 6. Technically, whether you like it or not, that post reset the clock to May 6. Which is the day he is planning his alleged update.

Complain about the PATREON date all you want, but the clock runs out May 6 per the site rules. And he's going to post (again, allegedly) by then. Just. In. Time.

He was rather active around here when still developing DoD and during the early stages of MP. Didn't like the fact that people were getting upset with the empty circles this game was running.
