At some point i hope we will see a jezera and rowan vs alexia and andras, where the player would only be able to chose one team to play, and multiple difficult choices would lead to the victory of one team or the other
Yea... that's probably just random shit post for quick likes or something. I was just speaking more in general on the topic. And what I've seen when it comes to complaints involving milking. No all ofc, but a lot. I mean I'm one of those rare degens. That holds a cardinal sin hot take.
Hold on, let me make sure nobody watching while I say this...

but ahem.... I think it's ok to sideline the porn for the game/story parts. And this game among some others I've played. Would (in MY OPINION) still be good, even if the poon took a backseat.
I know, I know, I'm saying some crazy ish right now. Maybe even a little bit blasphemous. Don't hit and forsake me! But I imagine if anyone who is supporting, holds similar views. I mean... you could say they getting squeezed. But at the same time. I also like to imagine that most people still paying. Are more or less ok with how it's going. The way some folks be talking about milking. Would swear the supporters had a gun to their heads. But it all is what it is.
Sure. That's valid criticism, and rises above the simple accusation of 'milking' by raising some demonstrably true facts about the game's development outside of just pointing at a start date. We can sit back and bemoan the lack of story progression, but at this point, is real progression what the folks who are paying for it want? I don't know. I'm not privy to their funding or the demands of their Patrons. It could be they were far too overtly ambitious, and have now gotten stuck missing the forest for the trees, because it is the individual trees that keeps the Patrons opening up their wallets month after month. I don't know, it's all speculation on my part. What I do know however is that their content is solid, and the devs haven't fallen off the face of the earth. They might spend too much time navel gazing and lack direction, but they're not scammers.Let's be candid, while they still at least delivered some "solid" content over the last years... many end users won't care and only notice that the story is at a full stop, hasn't made any meaningful progress in a long time. Or that they kept teasing some alternative route (the Astarte one i believe) that only exists in name. I can't blame those people for feeling that way.
After all this time, you can't even reap the benefits of doing the siege with drastically different choices... so far it goes to the same conclusion and then you get some morsel of side stuff every once in a while
Honestly your entire post is complete garbage, The game has been in development for almost 10 years and is till not done, no where to be close to be done I don't care how many scenes are there I want a finished product. His post stating the the dev is milking it is true.
Don't forget that they also did an overhaul of the art style relative to the beginning. The original art style was much more cartoonish in nature, and has shifted into something much more aesthetically fitting for the tone of the game.Or in other words, it's a real lazy and ignorant take to try and lambast a team that has a nearly decade long track record of delivering solid content.
That really puts this game in perspective lmao. We're reaching Yandere Sim levels of progress. While I agree that this dev certainly has the writing chops to make a SFW choose-your-own-adventure dark fantasy visual novel, we do have to face reality here; and that reality is that given the otherwise glacial pace of that story, the NSFW scenes are the mortar holding this entire structure together. Now it's up to each person individually to determine whether or not that's an adequate trade off, but seeing as how the devs are still going strong it seems to be working out for them and their paying audience at least.
Just because they're getting paid doesn't mean they're producing quality. Now it's up to each person individually to determine whether or not that's an adequate trade off, but seeing as how the devs are still going strong it seems to be working out for them and their paying audience at least.
To be fair, these devs haven't put a 1 million polygon toothbrush into their game and done the surprise Pikachu face when the game's performance tanked. Again, overly ambitious and lack of direction sure; but not complete incompetence. That really puts this game in perspective lmao. We're reaching Yandere Sim levels of progress.
True, that's a subjective valuation. I would posit however that they are putting out good quality content. It's just that it is more NSFW content that does little to push the story forward, rather than story content that really pushes the narrative to its conclusion. Again, folks are free to be disappointed that the content being made is not to their liking, but I don't think anyone can unbiasedly call the content they are making 'bad' for what it is.Just because they're getting paid doesn't mean they're producing quality.
That would depend entirely on to what standard you would consider someone to be 'unbiased', because everyone comes with some level of bias in their thoughts and actions.I don't think anyone can unbiasedly call the content they are making 'bad' for what it is.
The writing is solid. It is descriptive, engaging, erotic, and at base level is grammatically solid. The cast have desires, motivations, goals, and personalities; in other words they are characters. You can quibble over the content, but if your complaint is content based rather than on the fundamentals, that's inherently a biased take. Is the writing perfect? No. I'm sure it could be improved, but it is by no stretch of the imagination 'bad' in any fundamental way. That would depend entirely on to what standard you would consider someone to be 'unbiased', because everyone comes with some level of bias in their thoughts and actions.
It has been answered multiple times in the thread, but let's reiterate. Only Patreon/Steam distributions have cuts due to the respective platforms' limitations on non-consensual/non-human/etc content; the distribution usually shared in the OP is taken from itch.io (cue the "non-patreon" label), which features the original uncut scenes. So, seeing as they removed a lot of content not too long ago, has any of that been added back, or are people going to praise the removal of it some more?
What you're describing is basic creative writing though. Like entry-level, first year creative writing course stuff that they'd teach, some of it maybe even basic high school level education expectation of English language. It is descriptive, engaging, erotic, and at base level is grammatically solid. It's subjective to set the hurdle as passing that level, to mean that it therefore isn't bad. It's not entirely unreasonable for someone who reads the description of the game as a visual novel, or having reactive story-telling to expect more nuanced story-telling and characterisation than the basics.
It's not like I don't agree that SoC is better written than most of the erotic games out there. But once a developer clears the basics, people tend to start expecting more, because when the writing does show clear understanding of the fundamentals, they expect it to continue to be developed.
The same goes for the art, animation etc etc. There's a lot of sex games thrown together out there sure, so the bar is set low. But just because SoC clears that bar doesn't mean players should accept slow or unfocused development.
