Its been 5 whole months since the last update and they have not yet even started talking about a possibility of when the next update might be. The devs seem to be sticking to the 1.5 update a year model, which is just insane to me.

Its taking so long between each update that i legit forgot all the conversations i had with the girls, i forgot most of the scenes, i am starting to forget what some of them look like...This is just silly, just hire another person on your team if you can't handle it with just 2 people.

I dont wanna sound like a broke record but if this update takes 6+ months to release, whats the point? Its not like the updates are huge or anything, they are surprisingly small for the amount of time they take.

In fact, it is not the silly thought!
The devs apologized and promised to reduce the time it takes to make one update, but if you see from their changelogs, again, some props and camera angles and ect. - before this everything was fine and the game came out even once every six months, and we have two updates per year!
If we take just a raw calculation: one update per year and they need at least 10 more updates to finish the game, it's a, f@ck, 10 years! Who will follow this game for 10 years?

Technically in terms of speed they kept their words, we have the same amount of renders as the last update right now, in way less time. But they just realised that it wouldn't be smart to release another "small" update right now.

Some devs who started at the same time have already completed two projects or at least 1
So ? It depend on so many things. Not taking into account quality for example (which also add a lot and SH is unmatched there imo). Just in terms of sheer density of renders, i don't think any avn come close to SH. 1800 renders for most avn is quite decent update, for SH it's kinda small. Is it too ambitious for 2 devs? maybe. But it's also why the game feel unique. So it's slow, yes, but as long as they keep working and don't abandon it, i'm fine with it. Anyway, everyone here know how it is by now so if you don't like it well... you know what they say.

Strange response to a post by removing the author of the post - oh well/xd

No need to do unnecessary things like a toaster, etc. and then updates will come out more often!
There is an example of a dev who make the "same" mistakes, he learned and started making a remake (Ocean). He also likes to make large updates in several k renders, but his problem is that he does the same things which no one needs, remakes of remakes, recreate characters, although their remake of the original was already excellent and etc.
Such things look interesting, beautiful and cool, of course, but people come here not to jerk off to a toser!
You know how disappointing the last update was?
Personally, i don’t really expect and don’t believe this devs anymore, because the last update had more than 6k renders, but in fact it turned out to be small and almost not filled with content (compared to the previous ones)!
It’s funny to read how the two of them make 70-80 renders in a week, knowing that most of these renders are a waste of time!

Technically. It depends. These are the hallmarks of not having a real argument. Do we like the game they make? Yes. Are they taking too long to make much less? It looks that way. I know some people get off on white knighting and being contrarian but you shouldn't randomly defend people unless you have proof to back up your claims. Lecturing people about general "industry" jargon is not proof. It's weasel words used to try and escape responsibilities. All of that to say what we all really need is a milkshake montage and if that takes several thousand renders and three years no one is allowed to complain!!! Even though it's a waste of time, not what was advertised, taking too long to make, and bears all the hallmarks of a scam. We will have milkshake!!!

Status Update #22

Hello there, everyone!

This week we continued working on a lewd scene, figuring out which parts to animate and how far to take it. Too short is lame, but too long and the scene drags on. The build-up however is the important part, and the screenplay for that is coming along nicely.

We also worked on a couple of our sets, reworking some props for them and changing them to fit our current vision. The camera overlay we showed a couple status updates back is also going to be changed a bit.

Next up, some Ember planning and dialogue.

Spooky happening

There was a minor scare in the form of missing PC files. DazStudio.exe was suddenly gone and we got to learn about an error we've never seen before: "A device which does not exist was specified." Huh, weird. After a quick PC restart, the whole drive was now gone.

Great.

After an hour of panic, getting ready to sort backups and Googling everything about the issue, it suddenly worked fine after a cold boot. No action required... yet.

A stark reminder to keep backups ready and working. One day you might need them!

Weekly summary:

Animation posing

76+ renders for the queue

A couple new sound effects

Npx tears

Prop rework

Other news

This month we added a couple of extra options to the Special Render poll for Influencers, Helen and Cassandra. And currently Cassandra is in the lead for February, closely followed by Ms.Hill and Sophie.

February might very well be the first win for Cassie, or a lady outside of the main cast in general!

Have a nice and comfy weekend, everyone.

Cheers,

Robison & Npx

I'd love to get a milkshake montage of Eve, Kate & Mia

I hope it won't take so long as you're insinuating... though that would be a LOT of milkshake...

We have since last week more renders in 6 months than in the last update, the developers said this upcoming update will be similar in size to Chapter 0.5, that was 3600 renders in 11 months of development, which by the way was the size of an update 2 years ago from DPC for being a dik which also took almost 1 year. So the developers are on the right track.

Chapter 0.6 was apparently a bit short with its 1800 renders, but this was the only one out of the 6 chapters that had got a lot of hate and was criticized, all others were fine and nobody complained.

The last update shouldn't be considered as the standard now that the updates take a long time and have a short playing time, you can't tell that at the moment, only Chapter 6 had this problem.

So I would recommend everyone that you wait until 0.7 is released at the beginning of the summer and see how big it is and then you can praise the new update or criticize it if you want.

If we take just a raw calculation: one update per year and they need at least 10 more updates to finish the game, it's a, f@ck, 10 years! Who will follow this game for 10 years?
I would follow the game for 10 years if it's still has the same quality and renders and gives me fun why not, don't forget some games here on this side got released for example in 2019 and are still far from the finish line. Being a DIK probably takes 10 years of development time. Others 6 or 7. A Wife and Mother probably takes as long till Barron Trump is President of the United states. :HideThePain:

Nowadays the progress of the same Daz models is moving quickly - while gen9 is still damp, but there are already games on it. I'm not even talking about AI, those. take the same LP 7 years ago, remember his visual, with such visual, he would not last long, same here the visual is starting to become outdated and this will lead to an increase in the time it takes to produce one update!
