The Coding Problem was Real, what Dark Cookie should have done for the Tech Update is hiring two to three Coders that work together and keep one of them when the Tech Update is done.
What Cookie did instead: fired the Coder who fucked up and just hired one coder for this Project that now needs to bring everything back alone. That was stupid.

I'm sorry but unless the coder he hired is only working about once a week, and less than 8 hours at that, I just don't think this could possibly be true. I don't really care how messed up the code is - how could it take 4+ years to resolve it?

I imagine we're all adults here - imagine you start a job and your predecessor majorly fucked things up before you. Do you think it would take you 4+ years just to resolve that? I don't think so, and I work in HR technology lol. Admittedly it's different from game coding but I can't imagine it's THAT different that it could take years longer than my hardest projects.

It's not about hiring coders or people to do art. I usually take the position of my colleagues, but when it comes down to SS, that's been her forever...heh, I'll have to use term "milking".

Like, the main story is finished, but there are dozens of character substories left to explore: the principal,sports teacher etc etc.
Instead of properly developing their branches and give to folks their stories, we get a remake. Why? Because it's easier)

When Summertime Saga came out, it stood out. But as of now it's just a sad story of what greed may turn once a great game into.

SS and Library story are the OG cows. Unfortunately both cows are long dead yet the devs keep strutting their way down to the morgue squeezing the mouldy milk outta them.

Credit should be given to at least the original designs being quite good. But unfortunately patreon style incentives for these people seemed to have stopped them completing the game.

Calling someone a 'sucker' just because they aren't poor and want to reward good work and ensure these devs will continue rising above the sea of trash that regularly fills the ero scene is childish. Not to mention many of us also upload games for other's sake.

Fair enough if you don't want to, but the point is that the guy I responded to was wrong, and that's true of normal pirates too. The UK even paid for research (they later suppressed) that proved the same thing. A lot of pirates eventually do buy the games they pirates for a variety of reasons, including the same psychology that gets people to pay for "free to play" games.

So his whole argument was completely irrelevant on both sides of the coin. This is definitely a valid place to complain, regardless of whether you support the game, and many people do (or would if this game's progress wasn't such a scam).

If I find a game on here that's really good, I usually kick it 5-10 bucks and do so again when they drop an update. SS killed the Patreon model for me as it showed itself to reward dragging on the development process more than rewarding content created, but I can't imagine just being a leech who never gives the people who work hard on these games a dime lol.

So FYI, because DC and his crew aren't the sharpest tools in the shed these aren't in the cookie the jar.

However, upon completion of the current content, visiting Debbie in the shower will allow one to access 3 preview scenes:

That is how DC gets away with telling people that this update would include sex with Debbie.

At the rate this shithousery is going, there will almost certainly be a 5th Debbie update, but that's pure speculation. To be honest, it wouldn't be unfair to speculate he goes a 6th update, and we make it a full year of Debbie.

To think, these Debbie updates are only happening because DC tried to sneak 8 (now 9) year old art into the first release of his tech update after vanishing for nearly 2 years, and people quite reasonably mocked him for it.

If I am going to give credit for one thing, DC's team that compiles the updates (putting together the code and the art and such), are actually beating the allegations that it takes them 1+ months to put it together. Stuff DC drew a week ago on stream is appearing in the updates. So well done for no longer being completely shit.

Almost a full decade since this thing started, everything has evolved during that time. AI came in and now we have AIcg, AI coding and AI story telling, with this, one can make a game in no time compared to what was not so long ago.

I can't think of a single game on this site that deserves a penny for development. The patreon model time and time again has shown to be a disaster. How many times do we have to see a game milk the main story and give shitty update after shitty update on some side character? Or how many games get forced niche fetishes added by "community vote?"

First of all, you can simply support the developer for a month an update gets released. People spend hours of their lives creating stories and learning stuff(and I'm not talking about fast AI cashgrabs).
Second: each story has a bunch of character arcs. If I simply go through the main storyline without diving deep into side characters and their arcs, what are these characters for? They'll simply be dull decorations. Like...take Garrus from Mass Effect - he's the most beloved character from that franchise. Would the main story about Reaper invasion suffer if instead of Garrus there would've been Joe from Nebraska? No. But would I care about my squadmates if they all were generic dudes? Don't think so.

As far as niche fetishes added by community vote - it simply goes to "supply-demand". If the core of my patrons ask me about adding a NTR substory to character that seems to fit that role - why not?

At the end of the day, some devs suck. Some devs don't. And some devs quit(take Ancho, for example) simply because the funding for their game is low and it's simply better for them to get regular office job instead of working on a game that will never feed them, as much as they love it.

If nobody will support us - you'll just end up playing ten games at best. Just how it was 10 years ago, when your choice possibilities were much more narrow than nowadays.

There is only a little content now every 2 months. There would be half that or less if monthly release.
