Doesn't the browser assistant jay Won do the same thing?

and how will I use morphs, textures, etc. that are also in var files?
how to use it? I installed it, an icon appeared on the top left and shows my var files, but it still loads slowly and all my var files remain in the folder AddonPackages ! Shouldn't they be in the folder AllPackages?
svtiscenes don't load or load with a stock character! basically this browser removed everything and now I have nothing for scenes(

in general, it's unnecessary garbage and not a plugin! I moved all the var back and the scenes load normally, although the Vam itself loads slowly again
take a look at this write up. the basic idea with that tool is, you can keep the vars you use most of the time in addonpackages while the vars you rarely use in allpackages. the tools makes it so the vars gets loaded automatically when you load a look for example. it comes with a gui too which you can use to load everything, it arguably has a better gui than vam. from my testing the autoloading vars works for looks, presets and things like that just from the vams built in gui, no need for plugins gui. but scenes wont work, for scenes you have to use the pluigns gui, only once tho. once the var is loaded you can use vams ui. for me that plugin is a godsend, it makes vam usable again. i have around 4000+ vars, but i only use around 1500 vars, the rest i keep unloaded and only use when needed. without that plugin, vams loading times are so bad, even on a nvme. to get a better understanding how it works try reading that post.

so I installed it. I tried to load the scene four times, rebooted and still it does not load the character into the scene, but only without morphs and textures)) I suffered with this browser)) it shows that it seems to transfer some dependencies to the folder, but apparently not all the time the character does not load)) and without it I load the same scene and everything loads fine! I used the graphical interface of this browser

Same here. Vam does load fast, and so do the scenes, but I noticed some of my morphs and clothes were gone. And afaik, you have to toggle them back on for the browser to see and let it through (and wouldn't loading everything through be against the usage of this plugin (?))

Now I can't do this with every scene. So I reinstalled vam with just my latest scenes and dependencies to avoid the long load times.

I think the idea behind the var browser plugin's great, but I haven't fully grasped it. It'd be great if in vam2, they adopt a similar idea to avoid long wait times.

hmm it might be a bug then, im not sure. tell me if you if you did it this way just to confirm. you are on latest version of the plugin and, a scene and its dependencies (var files) are not loaded, they are in allpackages folder. so to load the scene you open the plugins gui (not vams ui) and click on the scene. the plugin should then load all these var files scene+dependencies and the scene should load up with all intact, textures, hair, morphs etc. if not then its definitely something wrong with the plugin. on my pc when i click on the stuffs in plugins ui, everything works as expected. maybe you should ask plugin author.

Browser Assist only works with vars in AddonPackages, and any var in AddonPackages will increase load time, and vam itself, but also everything within in, opening clothing, hair, morphs, etc. So it does nothing to decrease load times, just a better way of browsing existing vars.

The Var Browser will move all(except those you mark) vars to AllPackages(and can remove duplicates and corrupt vars), you will then have to use it's in game browser, which is accessible via the overlay, to load vars. When loading through this ui it will move and load all dependencies into AddongPackages. It will also do this if you load a preset you have saved from before. So it's crucial that you use the browser from the plugin, since it will keep track of dependencies. You can also use it's version of the hub, to download missing dependencies of vars you have in AllPackages.

Only problem i have with it is that if you select a var as to be always installed, it only keeps that specific var installed, and not it's dependencies, but easily fixed by always using the browser when running a fresh vam.
There's a lot of other functionality that is missing which you have in browser assist, but can get those by just refreshing after installing vars.

that's what's bad, it doesn't load all the dependencies, which makes it useless(

version of the plugin 0.15 yes it is the latest on github updated three months ago (I don't know maybe I did something wrong at first because I installed it and loaded the Vam without moving it to the folder allpackages all the variables and only then moved it and tried to load the scene (in general, two different scenes did not load with it for some reason and without it everything is fine. I'll try to install it again and try when I have time.

once you config your most important vars to aways load, you just have to choose wich ones you gona use each day.

The problem is some creators don't declare the correct dependencys and you have to search for them. If the dependency is declared and youre using the plugin UI, than it should work. Without knowing the scene, is hard to give any advice.

And before using you should click to uninstall all vars so that the plugin moves everything to the all packages folder.

Please just tell me if I'm doing it right:
- whenever I download a scenes or looks pack, I dump them into my AddonPackages dir, sometimes just in the root, sometimes in some subfolders (with sub-sub folders) to try to keep things organized and have a quick way to delete a pack if I don't like it.
- I launch VAM and scan for missing dependencies and download them, using the built in
- then check for updates, again using the built in function
- on to the scene browser, I can filter for authors in the top right corner, usually no issues here
- from within the scene, I open the edit menu (U -> E) and after selecting the correct asset person, I load the look I want to use (Appearence presets -> Select existing)

here's what the problem lies: for some reason I have a very hard time accessing all the looks that are in the var directory. If I chose the "flatten" view in the green "shortcuts" pan on the left several are missing, and even using the creator filter only shows less results for the creators. Even the creator list itself is shorter than it should be.
Putting a serch string in the top right corner of the right pane (same as in the scene browser) sometimes also yelds no results or only a few.

This is driving me nuts, any hint will be much appreciated!

its because appearance presets are not same as scenes, they are both different things. a Look you downloaded from vamhub can have a few things, a scene, or an appearance preset or both.
the author could be lazy and just include scene only. the scene will have the look and everything, but if you actually want to load this same look in other scenes you have to create an appearance preset yourself. sometimes authors also include appearance preset with the scene, those are the ones you saw earlier.
