i think the most concerning part (for me at least) is it goes from possible this month to a few months. Maybe they just want to give it a large window so people dont get antsy until the release is more final. either way back to waiting, plenty of other games to play till then.
As others have pointed out, WWG is not great at estimating when he'll be finished, but long time supporters (like me) are used to that and have accepted it. What's different this time is that WWG is NOT saying that he underestimated his remaining work. Questions like "how did one month of work turn into three?" are misinterpreting this situation. What he IS saying is that real life problems are getting in his way. He needs TIME to work on the game, but he doesn't know when he'll HAVE that time.

I don't know what his problems are and they're not my business anyway, but if (for example) it's something health-related, home-related, or even law-related, then I can understand why he has to put the game on the back burner, and why he may not know when it'll be finished.

It's absolutely fair to be skeptical of all this, as we've seen numerous developers make similar claims over and over until their reputation is ruined. I think WWG has been more honest and reliable than many devs, so for now I'm going to take him at his word, and just hope whatever's going on gets resolved as soon as possible.

I've been a top tier supporter since last jan, so have given a fair bit of money, not as much as some I know, but still a decent amount. Rather than anger, i'm just dissapointed really, dissapointed that the update might not be out for a good while. I never minded paying top price, because it felt like wwg really involved his patreons with polls for scenes that people wanted etc (a lot of other devs charged ridicolous amounts to do these "commisions".
I don't think it's a joke, if it is i think it missed the mark.....a lot. I just think something major, something not good has happened in his life, and that takes priorirty over letting a bunch of pervs get their rocks off (i include myself in this). I am still sad about it though, and finding out so late in march was a gut punch.

guess that makes sense. for the record im not doubting WWG, or coming up with conspiracies, it just really surprised me. based on the quality of the game so far the dev can take all the time they need.

I mean, you know when you're on schedule and when you are not, if we take WWG's word, they thought they were on schedule on the 1st of march, thinking they could finish what they had left to do in a month. So either something big happened in the last month that will halt development for months or the 1st of march was a lie, that would really be the only explanation for a delay of months.

I am still sniffing the April fools prank copium though, I remember a post of WWG saying that if they set a deadline, that they would take until the very last second of that deadline if they had to. So get ready people, I'll see you all at 11:59:59 PM :BootyTime:

Edit: i read a post wrong and thought WWG posted an update on the 15th, which they didn't i think, my point still stands though :HideThePain:

"I've been working non-stop on the update"

"resulted in me losing large amounts of time"

Maybe im missing something but I dont think this is excusable
Something really bad shouldve happened for this 180 to make sense.

I mean if he's offering refunds instead of download links it means that he cant estimate when itll be finished or if it even will.

better not to rush it too much because you risk releasing a low quality product, waiting another month or two is also acceptable since this chapter is much larger than the previous ones. it would be nice if tomorrow they released it, it would be the perfect April Fools :ROFLMAO:

The only things that can takes a while is Text and the Content, VN games are not hard to create!

If it was another kind of game I will say ok why not , but if the CH13 does not have more scenes than 12 for 1 years then what did he do ?

It's like the guy who create The Awakening game except the voices what he do ? He started the game like 7 years before and he's only on 0.4.5 !

hoping it is april fools, but to wait till the last minute to say it will take another few months is mental, he/she knew it would take this long and should have donea a progress update a week ago to say its change.
As somebody said "carrot on a stick", If WWG wants more time then he should say that ahead of time but he chose to mislead his crowd into false hope

so many creators have begun doing this its such a cash grab and people need to wake up and stop defending it. They see the big numbers and decide to milk it for as long as they can. "Oooh my hard drive died" "ooh ive not been doing too well mentally"...Bro you're making $$$$ a month and basically can work for yourself, choose when you work, go on holiday most months etc,,, pretty sure every major game has slowed down production massively. Wouldn't be surprised if they barely put two days of work in a week anymore.

It's been about a week since i've had to clear this up, guess it's that time again.

The cycles get longer because the game gets bigger. look at this post and the post i linked in it. it breaks down why updates take longer.

https://thef95zone.info/threads/power-vacuum-ch-12-official-what-why-games.36240/post-16272838
That math doesn't work. A year and a half for one update is not just an increased workload. It's decreased productivity. Chapter 13 won't be the size of his first year and a half of content. I'm calling that right now. And even if you wanted to use that excuse, it was his choice to do so. He decides how bloated the chapters get, he decides not to release smaller updates throughout the year.

Just like he decided to wait until literal days before the last day of his own self imposed release to say he wasn't even close to making it. And that's after he directly said he wasn't going to delay it. In a post you made here he said he would not be delaying it past March. There's no way he didn't know how much more work there was to do when he said that. So, I have no choice but to believe he's a liar

And that's a problem.... why?

For people that pay for the game. the length of time between releases doesn't change anything. if he stuck with 2 months development time with 2 months worth of content to play. i payed for 2 months right? if he took 6 months to develop and it had 6 months worth of content. I still payed each month.

him releasing every 2 months, is still costing the same each month as a game that releases every 6 months or yearly. Do you understand what a monthly subscription is? So i don't get what people mean when they say he's "milking" us. when every dev on patreon gets monthly payments. he's not just sitting on his ass, NOT working on the game.

TLDR: a game that updates every month is the exact same in price and content as a game that updates yearly, if you stay pledged for the entire year in both scenarios.

two days a week seems pretty generous....
